2011 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Travis Leslie
Position: Shooting Guard
Size: 6-4, 205
School: Georgia, Junior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Travis Leslie is more of an athlete than a basketball player. He can leap out of the gym and is a regular highlight reel dunker, but does not have the perimeter game of an NBA shooting guard. Because of that, he is likely a second-round pick but is still an intriguing prospect due to that athleticism.
Player Comparison: A poor-man’s Tony Allen. If there is a blueprint for whose career Lesile should follow, it is Tony Allen. Allen has made a name for himself as a tough, hard-working, in-your-face defender due to his deficiencies on the offensive end; specifically his outside shooting. While Lesile is more athletic than Allen, the former Georgia Bulldog really struggles shooting the ball and is a bit undersized. But due to his strength and ability to defend, he could find his niche in the league as a pesky defensive role player assuming he does not suddenly become a sharpshooter.
