2012 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Marquis Teague
Position: Point Guard
Size: 6-2, 189
School: Kentucky, Freshman
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Like previous John Calipari-coached point guards, Teague steadily improved during his freshman season after getting off to a bit of a shaky start. He is not in the same class as John Wall, Derrick Rose or Tyreke Evans, but is certainly still a first-round talent. He could go anywhere from the mid-teens to late first round in this weaker class of point-guard prospects.
Player Comparison: Ramon Sessions. Sessions was a play-making point guard early in his career like Teague; relying on his ability to get to the basket and set up teammates. Sessions hasn’t been much of an outside shooter throughout his career (this year being the exception) and Teague has a ways to go in that area as well.
