2013 NBA Draft Scouting Report: C.J. Leslie
Position: Power Forward
Size: 6-9, 200
School: N.C. State, Junior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: I like when Dan Dakich calls Leslie, “different” because he is just that. He can do numerous things to help your team on both ends of the floor, but his athleticism and explosiveness is really what stands out. A lack of strength is a concern, but Leslie is a borderline lottery prospect.
Player Comparison: Hakim Warrick. Lengthy, wirey, athletic; not physical enough to guard or post up power forwards. Not a true small forward either. These descriptions fit both Warrick and Leslie. Leslie has more bounce than Warrick did coming out of college, and what can separate him from Warrick will be developing a more consistent outside shot, which Warrick has been unable to do.
