The top-12 linebacker recruiting classes in 2019 (including transfers).

  1. Georgia
Key Players: Nakobe Dean, Rian Davis, Trezmen Marshall
Dean is the best linebacker prospect in the Class of 2019. Davis and Marshall are also top-10-15 prospects at the position. This is going to be a fun group to watch.

  2. LSU
Key Players: Marcel Brooks, Kendall McCallum, Donte Starks
Brooks looks like he’s a three-and-done prospect. He has everything you want in an outside linebacker prospect.

  3. Penn State
Key Players: Brandon Smith, Lance Dixon
Smith was the top prospect from Virginia in the Class of 2019 and top 25 in the nation.

  4. Alabama
Key Players: Shane Lee, Christian Harris
Lee already has the size to be an immediate contributor in college.

  5. Clemson
Key Players: Bryton Constantin, Kane Patterson, Vonta Bentley
The Tigers are a little thin in the front seven after losing several players to the NFL Draft. Bentley looks like a very physical prospect.

  6. Florida
Key Players: Tyron Hopper, Diwun Black
Both Hopper and Black have “SEC size” and could be immediate contributors for the Gators in the upcoming season.

  7. Washington
Key Players: Daniel Heimuli, Josh Calvert
Much like the Huskies did with their defensive line recruiting, they went for size. Heimuli, Calvert and Alphonzo Tuputala will all come in around 225 pounds.

  8. Florida State
Key Players: Jaleel McRae, Kalen DeLoach
McRae arrived in Tallahassee early and has already made it to the two deep. Florida State got size and depth in its linebacker class.

  9. Oregon
Key Players: Mase Funa, Ge’mon Eaford
Funa, at 6-foot-2, 245 pounds, is an absolute hitter at inside linebacker. Eaford is also a physical player who likes contact.

  10. Auburn
Key Players: Owen Pappoe, Kameron Brown
Pappoe was rated as the best outside linebacker in the Class of 2019 by some groups. Brown is a developmental prospect with good upside.

  11. Texas
Key Players: De’Gabriel Floyd, David Gbenda
Floyd could provide some early depth for the Longhorns. Marcus Tillman is a prospect who is worth keeping an eye on.

  12. Texas A&M
Key Players: Andre White Jr., Ke’Shun Brown
White was a big out-of-state pull from Pennsylvania and looks like he’s ready for SEC football.
