Pro Day Dates: March 22, 2010

Iowa

Pat Angerer, ILB, Iowa
Height: 6-0. Weight: 234.
Projected 40 Time: 4.68.
Combine 40 Time: 4.69.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.64.
Benchx225: 26. Vertical: 39.
Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

1/8/10: You don’t want to mess with a guy who is “more than anger.” Projecting as a 4-3 middle linebacker, Pat Angerer garnered a whopping 135 tackles and four TFL in 2009.

2/19/09: Pat Angerer, a member of the All-Big Ten Second Team, collected 107 tackles, 6.5 TFL, three passes broken up and five intercepions.

Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa Scouting Report
Height: 6-5. Weight: 316.
Projected 40 Time: 5.02.
Combine 40 Time: 5.26.
Pro Day 40 Time: DNP.
Benchx225: 26. Arm: 33 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): Top 10 Pick.

2/26/10: Bryan Bulaga’s arms measured at just 33 1/4 inches. This shouldn’t be a huge deal, but it could be enough to scare some teams off and keep him out of the top 10.

1/7/10: Bryan Bulaga declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. This was a good move; Bulaga saw teammate Dace Richardson’s career ruined because of a nasty knee injury. Bulaga is a projected first-round pick, so he was wise to leave school early.

10/24/09: Missed three games with an illness, but is still in the mix to be the second or third tackle to be taken off the board.

2/9/09: A very athletic left tackle from a program known for producing stud offensive linemen, Bryan Bulaga was an All-Big Ten second-teamer as a sophomore. Bulaga started as a true freshman.

Kyle Calloway, OT, Iowa
Height: 6-6. Weight: 323.
Projected 40 Time: 5.22.
Combine 40 Time: 5.51.
Pro Day 40 Time: 5.53.
Benchx225: 24. Arm: 33 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

1/18/10: Earned an All-Big Ten honorable mention. A solid right tackle prospect whose DUI shouldn’t be a concern because he was riding a moped at the time.

10/24/09: Projects as a very solid right tackle in the NFL, but Kyle Calloway was arrested for drunk driving in September.

2/9/09: A right tackle at the next level, Kyle Calloway as an All-Big Ten second-teamer.

7/27/08: Looking to become the next successful Hawkeye to transition to the NFL, Kyle Calloway started every game for Iowa in 2007, alternating between left and right tackle.

A.J. Edds, OLB, Iowa
Height: 6-3. Weight: 247.
Projected 40 Time: 4.72.
Combine 40 Time: 4.67.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.67.
Benchx225: 16. Vertical: 35.5.
Projected Round (2010): 3-4.

1/8/10: Perhaps the top pure strongside linebacker in the 2010 NFL Draft, A.J. Edds notched 72 tackles and four TFL as a senior.

2/16/09: An All-Big Ten honorable mention, A.J. Edds had 59 tackles, 4.5 TFL, two sacks and five passes broken up.

8/2/08: In his first season as a full-time starter, A.J. Edds recorded 80 tackles (3.5 for loss) and four pass break-ups.

Tony Moeaki, TE, Iowa
Height: 6-3. Weight: 245.
Projected 40 Time: 4.80.
Combine 40 Time: 4.69.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.68.
Benchx225: 18. Vertical: 36.5. Arm: 33 1/4.
Projected Round (2010): 4-5.

1/21/10: Tony Moeaki has a laundry list of past injuries; he finished his senior year with 30 catches for 387 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games.

11/7/09: After missing three games, Tony Moeaki is a big part of this offense again. One of my favorite sleeper prospects in the 2010 NFL Draft.

9/12/09: Tony Moeaki has always shown promise, but has never been able to stay healthy. Moeaki opened up the 2009 season with 10 catches for 83 yards and a score, helping to lead Iowa in a comeback victory over fearsome Northern Iowa. If Moeaki can avoid injuries, he has a shot to be a mid-round pick.

2/8/09: Struggled with a leg injury and a concussion in 2008. This guy just can’t stay healthy.

5/23/08: Tony Moeaki caught 14 passes, 170 yards and three touchdowns in the first three weeks of the season, but missed the remainder of the year with elbow and hand injuries.

Amari Spievey, CB, Iowa
Height: 5-11. Weight: 195.
Projected 40 Time: 4.56.
Combine 40 Time: 4.47.
Pro Day 40 Time: 4.53.
Benchx225: 6. Vertical: 34.5.
Projected Round (2010): 2.

3/22/10: Prospects usually aren’t slower on their Pro Day than at the Combine. But Amari Spievey ran a 4.53 at Iowa’s Pro Day. He’s still a Round 2-3 prospect.

3/10/10: Amari Spievey, who impressed at the Combine, has reportedly received a first-round grade from some teams.

1/12/10: Amari Spievey has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Spievey is a talented corner who had two interceptions in 2009, but has declared into a pretty deep cornerbacking class. He could be lost in the mix as a mid-round prospect depending on how he fares at the Combine.
