2024 NBA Offseason: Los Angeles Clippers

Updated: 6/4/2024

Free Agents:

James Harden, UFA

Paul George, PO

Russell Westbrook, PO

Mason Plumlee, UFA

Daniel Theis, UFA

2023-24 Season Overview:

After the James Harden trade and Russell Westbrook’s move to the bench, the Clippers were one of the NBA’s elite teams for most of the 2023 season and Paul George/Kawhi Leonard were All-Stars. The Clippers not only have several All-Star starters, but one of the league’s elite benches with Norman Powell, Mason Plumlee and Westbrook. None of this mattered because Leonard got hurt, leaving the Clippers with no chance against the Mavericks. I honestly see Paul George being signed and traded, so this team will have a different look next year.

Defensive Big

Offseason Goals

The first part of the offseason for the Clippers is simple: re-sign James Harden for a large two-season – maybe $60 million over that term – contract. Then, obviously they must deal with All-Star Paul George. He will become a free agent, and it looks like they aren’t willing to pay him the 3-year max he is said to want. I would want that. The Clippers should also give Russell Westbrook a two-year, $20 million contract, which he would likely be willing to take. After that the team simply has to keep Plumlee and Theis while adding a few smaller free agents, such as an ace shooter and a defensive big.

Potential 2024-25 Roster

PG: James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Cory Joseph

SG: Terrence Mann, Kobe Brown

SF: Paul George, Norman Powell, Amir Coffey

PF: Kawhi Leonard, Daniel Theis

C: Ivica Zubac, Mason Plumlee, Richaun Holmes
