-
Atlanta Hawks: Jaylin Williams, F, Arkansas
Actual Pick: A.J. Griffin
Williams is 6-foot-9 and shot 41 percent from three as a rookie, meaning he will have a long NBA career as a shooting big. He is also a fantastic rebounder and was a huge steal at pick No. 35 in the actual draft. -
Houston Rockets: Malaki Branham, G, Ohio State
Actual Pick: Tari Eason
Branham was a potential lottery pick last year, and this is about where the Spurs took him. -
Chicago Bulls: Andrew Nembhard, PG, Gonzaga
Actual Pick: Jalen Terry
Terry is talented, but couldn’t find minutes in a talented Bulls’ rotation and the Bulls needed some point guard help, so Nembhard’s a nice fit. He’s a strong playmaking talent and a solid shooter and scorer. -
Minnesota Timberwolves: Ochai Agbaji, SG, Kansas
Actual Pick: Jake LaRavia
The former Jayhawk showed a lot of potential as a scorer for the Jazz, although his inefficiency is an issue. His role should grow as the team looks to rebuild and already traded multiple guards. -
San Antonio Spurs: Ousmane Dieng, SF, France
Actual Pick: Malaki Branham
The lottery pick may be a bit too low, but he had a lesser season than a lot of guys. He also received minimal minutes and played in only half the Thunder’s games, so he’s impossible to judge. -
Denver Nuggets: Christian Braun, G/F, Kansas
Actual Pick: Christian Braun
No, Braun’s numbers are not impressive, but he has a role for the No. 1 seed in the West, which is ridiculous. -
Memphis Grizzlies: Johnny Davis, SG, Wisconsin
Actual Pick: Walker Kessler
Davis was the 10th pick, which is why he’s here, but he had a very poor rookie season. He might still be drafted in the lottery because of his potential, but not based off his rookie play. -
Philadelphia 76ers: Jaden Hardy, G, USA
Actual Pick: David Roddy
Hardy looks like a strong shooting specialist and is already a role player as a second-round pick, which you have to like. -
Milwaukee Bucks: MarJon Beauchamp, F, USA
Actual Pick: MarJon Beauchamp
Beauchamp actually had a role for the Bucks as a rookie, which was impressive as they had a very talented roster. Drafting him a second time would be a smart choice. -
San Antonio Spurs: Dalen Terry, F, Arizona
Actual Pick: Blake Wesley
Terry has a lot of talent, and while he plays hard and he works hard, he isn’t much of a scorer. He has, however, shown talent as a rebounder and a playmaker. You have to love the effort-role guys, and he should become one. -
Minnesota Timberwolves: Nikola Jovic, SG, Serbia
Actual Pick: Wendell Moore
Jovic barely played as a rookie, but he has a lot of potential and can become quite the role player. -
Miami Heat: Jake LaRavia, F, Wake Forest
Actual Pick: Nikola Jovic
LaRavia barely received minutes and performed poorly with the Grizzlies, but he’s a strong talent. -
Golden State Warriors: Blake Wesley, SG, Notre Dame
Actual Pick: Patrick Baldwin
Somehow, and I have no idea how it’s possible, Wesley shot 32.1% from the field and 38.5% from three. This shows he can at least be a shooting specialist. -
Memphis Grizzlies: Christian Koloko, PF/C, Arizona
Actual Pick: TyTy Washington
Koloko has shown elite shot-blocker potential, but he really needs to work on his offensive game. -
Oklahoma City Thunder: Davis Roddy, F, Colorado State
Actual Pick: Peyton Watson
Roddy has shown some talent as a shooting four, which keeps him in the first round.
