2022 NBA Mock Draft: Round 1, Picks 1-15 (Walt’s)

  1. Atlanta Hawks: Jalen Williams, SG/SF, Santa Clara Santa Clara
The Hawks seem like they’d be in the market for a new backcourt mate for Trae Young.

You can buy it here. It has some NFL Draft-related topics, so like I said, if you want to support the site, this is a great way to do it!

  2. Houston Rockets: Tari Eason, PF, LSU
This is a bit late for Tari Eason, but the Rockets won’t complain. They went big with their first pick, and they could do so again with Christian Wood gone.

  3. Chicago Bulls: Malaki Branham, SG, Ohio State
There have been rumors of a potential Zach Lavine trade, so the Bulls may want to find another guard.

  4. Minnesota Timberwolves: Blake Wesley, G, Notre Dame
The Timberwolves could find a point guard to eventually take over for Patrick Beverley.

  5. San Antonio Spurs: TyTy Washington, PG, Kentucky Kentucky
The Spurs could stand to add another guard to their rotation, given their depth issues.

  6. Denver Nuggets: Dalen Terry, G, Arizona Arizona
The Nuggets supposedly have the MVP even though they can’t get out of the first round. The MVP needs guard help.

  7. Memphis Grizzlies: Jaden Hardy, SG, G-League
The Grizzlies might want some insurance for Ja Morant in case they suffer another unfortunate injury again.

  8. Philadelphia 76ers: Nikola Jovic, PF/C, Serbia
The 76ers need depth for their next disappointing playoff run. A big man should be obtained for when Joel Oden gets hurt again. Nikola Jovic isn’t quite Nikola Jokic, but he’s close, at least in spelling.

  9. Milwaukee Bucks: E.J. Liddell, PF, Ohio State
The Bucks lacked depth in their playoff series loss to the Celtics. They need to target the best player available.

  10. San Antonio Spurs: Walker Kessler, C, Auburn
As mentioned earlier, the Spurs will have to find a replacement for LaMarcus Aldridge. There’s a chance Gregg Popovich will have forgotten that he had already drafted a center.

  11. Houston Rockets: Wendell Moore, SG/SF, Duke
Houston has bolstered its front court already, so here’s some help on the wing.

  12. Miami Heat: Jake LaRavia, PF, Wake Forest
It wouldn’t be the worst idea for the Heat to find better insurance for Bam Adebayo.

  13. Golden State Warriors: Kennedy Chandler, PG, Tennessee
The Warriors may want to add another wing player or point guard for depth, especially with the aging players at the position.

  14. Memphis Grizzlies: Patrick Baldwin, F, Wisconsin-Milwaukee
With another pick, the Grizzlies can afford to swing for the fences with a player with upside.

  15. Oklahoma City Thunder: MarJon Beauchamp, SG, G-League
With numerous first-round picks, the Thunder could select a foreign player. MarJon Beauchamp sounds like he could be French, so he might fill that role.
