May 11, 2023.

  1. Orlando Magic: Terrence Mann, SG, Florida State
    Actual Pick: Chuma Okeke

The current Clipper is an efficient offensive player who is a fantastic shooter. He could help 30 teams.

  2. Brooklyn Nets: Matisse Thybulle, SG, Washington
    Actual Pick: Nickeil Alexander-Walker

I may like Thybulle more than most, but he is a fantastic defender, one of the true elites. The problem is that he has no offensive game, but at this point, it is just about picking strong role players who fit.

  3. Indiana Pacers: Grant Williams, F, Tennessee
    Actual Pick: Goga Bitadze

Williams is another really talented defender, but Williams has some offensive game, as he is an elite three-point shooter. I really want to see him on a non-Celtics team, which will soon be a possibility.

  4. San Antonio Spurs: Jalen McDaniels, F, San Diego State
    Actual Pick: Luka Samanic

McDaniels is a scoring power forward who can shoot, which means you have value in the league. Greg Popovich could have made McDaniels a big-time starter.

  5. Boston Celtics: Brandon Clarke, F, Gonzaga
    Actual Pick: Matisse Thuybulle

Clarke is one of the stronger third big men and could start on a lot of teams. He’s a big-time scorer and rebounder who is an elite NBA role player.

  6. Oklahoma City Thunder: Daniel Gafford, C, Arkansas
    Actual Pick: Brandon Clarke

It’s quite simple, Gafford is a very talented inside scorer for a big man and rebounder. He’s not known for his defense, which severely hurts his value in for the NBA.

  7. Boston Celtics: Caleb Martin, F, Nevada
    Actual Pick: Grant Williams

Martin has started for the Heat, a playoff team, for most of this season. He is a versatile, strong shooter and scorer, plus just a fantastic role guy.

  8. Utah Jazz: Max Strus, SG, DePaul
    Actual Pick: Darius Bazley

Strus has been a strong bench piece for the Heat as a scoring reserve. No team can have too many guys who give you 11 or more points.

  9. Philadelphia 76ers: Naz Reid, C, LSU
    Actual Pick: Ty Jerome

Reid happens to be on a team with a lot of bigs, so he gets few minutes, but he’s a really talented big man. He could be double-double machine if given playing time.

  10. Portland Trail Blazers: Ty Jerome, G, Virginia
    Actual Pick: Nassir Little

Jerome is a very talented shooter and scorer with some playmaking ability who could really benefit with more minutes.

  11. Cleveland Cavaliers: Darius Bazley, F, USA
    Actual Pick: Dylan Windler

Bazley had a fantastic sophomore season in the league, averaging 14 points and seven rebounds, but his role got smaller and smaller, which is a shame. About to be a free agent, he can find a stronger fit.

  12. Brooklyn Nets: Cam Reddish, F, Duke
    Actual Pick: Mfiondu Kabengele

Reddish came into the league with a lot of hype, and he still has the talent to be a 20-point scorer, but he needs to find a role on a team first and he’s already been on three.

  13. Golden State Warriors: Nassir Little, F, North Carolina
    Actual Pick: Jordan Poole

Little has been a solid reserve big since drafted by the Blazers, and he can shoot the ball, which is arguably his strongest gift. He has been, and should stay a solid reserve, with potential starter talent for Portland.

  14. San Antonio Spurs: Romeo Langford, SG, Indiana
    Actual Pick: Keldon Johnson

Langford is mostly here because of potential and the lottery pick still has it, and he just had a decent season for the Spurs. He could become a really nice role player.

  15. Milwaukee Bucks: Jaxon Hayes, C, Texas
    Actual Pick: Kevin Porter Jr.

Hayes should be more than just a 13-minute-per-game center, as he’s big and talented, but he hasn’t been able to find his way in the NBA. Finding a different team would help the young big man.
