College Football Game Previews: Week 14

Washington vs. Oregon; Friday, Dec. 1, 8:00 PM ET ABC

The Prospects:

Washington

  • QB Michael Penix Jr., No. 9
  • DE Bralen Trice, No. 8
  • OLB Zion Tupuolo-Fetui, No. 4
  • WR Rome Odunze, No. 1
  • WR Ja’Lynn Polk, No. 2
  • WR Jalen McMillan, No. 11
  • TE Devin Culp, No. 83

Oregon

  • QB Bo Nix, No. 10
  • WR Troy Franklin, No. 11
  • WR Tez Johnson, No. 15
  • DT Jordan Burch, No. 1
  • DT Brandon Dorlus, No. 3

The Matchups: This rematch will feature two future NFL quarterbacks. Some are projecting Penix and Nix to the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, but they might be more likely to be second-day prospects at best. Still, leading their team to a conference championship and beyond would help either prospect. Odunze could be a first-rounder next April in the 2024 NFL Draft. Trice and Dorlus are also early-round prospects for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Texas vs. Oklahoma State; Saturday, Dec. 2, 12:00 PM ET ABC

The Prospects:

Texas

  • WR Xavier Worthy, No. 1
  • QB Quinn Ewers, No. 3
  • WR Adonai Mitchell, No. 5
  • WR Jordan Whittington, No. 13
  • TE Ja’Tavion Sanders, No. 0
  • RB Keilan Robinson, No. 7
  • DT T’Vondre Sweat, No. 93
  • DT Jaylan Ford, No. 41

Oklahoma State

  • OT Dalton Cooper, No. 71
  • TE Josiah Johnson, No. 16
  • QB Alan Bowman, No. 7
  • DE Anthony Goodlow, No. 94

The Matchups: Worthy looks likely to end up as a first-rounder in the 2024 NFL Draft. Mitchell could join him Round 1. The Cowboys have some young talent in the secondary, but the Texas receivers should produce well against them.

Alabama vs. Georgia; Saturday, Dec. 2, 4:00 PM ET CBS

The Prospects:

Georgia

  • TE Brock Bowers, No. 19
  • RT Amarius Mims, No. 65
  • DT Nazir Stackhouse, No. 78
  • CB Kamari Lassiter, No. 3
  • S Javon Bullard, No. 22
  • CB Tykee Smith, No. 23
  • LB Jamon Dumas-Johnson, No. 10
  • RB Kendall Milton, No. 2
  • WR Arian Smith, No. 11
  • WR Ladd McConkey, No. 84
  • RG Tate Ratledge, No. 69
  • LG Xavier Truss, No. 73

Alabama

  • RT J.C. Latham, No. 65
  • LB Dallas Turner, No. 15
  • CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, No. 1
  • CB Terrion Arnold, No. 3
  • LB Chris Braswell, No. 41
  • DT Justin Edoigbe, No. 92
  • WR Jermaine Burton, No. 3
  • WR Ja’Corey Brooks, No. 7
  • C Seth McLaughlin, No. 56
  • RB Josh Williams, No. 27
  • QB Jalen Milroe, No. 4
  • RB Jase McClellan, No. 2
  • S Malachi Moore, No. 13

The Matchups: There are a lot of great draft matchups in this game, but the best could be when Mims takes on future NFL edge rushers Turner and Braswell. Turner could go as a top-10 choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, and Mims could go in Round 1 next April. There should also be some great matchups of the Georgia wideouts going against the Alabama cornerbacks. McKinstry can struggle with change of direction, so it will be interesting to see how he handles the shifty McConkey. Arnold is a higher-rated corner, and he will see some dangerous speed in Arian Smith. Georgia top corner Lassiter will also get a real test with the Alabama receivers.

Iowa vs. Michigan; Saturday, Dec. 2, 8:00 PM ET FOX

The Prospects:

Iowa

  • LB Nick Jackson, No. 10
  • QB Cade McNamara, No. 12
  • TE Erick All, No. 83
  • TE Luke Lachey, No. 85

Michigan

  • QB J.J. McCarthy, No. 9
  • RB Blake Corum, No. 2
  • DT Kris Jenkins, No. 94
  • DE Jaylen Harrell, No. 32
  • DE Josaiah Stewart, No. 32
  • WR Roman Wilson, No. 14
  • WR Cornelius Johnson, No. 6

The Matchups: McCarthy is a potential first-round quarterback for the 2024 NFL Draft, and he will be facing a gritty Iowa defense. Still, this is a matchup that favors McCarthy.

Florida State vs. Louisville; Saturday, Dec. 2, 8:00 PM ET ABC

The Prospects:

Florida State

  • DE Jared Verse, No. 5
  • WR Johnny Wilson, No. 14
  • WR Keon Coleman, No. 4
  • S Akeem Dent, No. 1
  • DT Fabian Lovett, No. 00
  • RB Trey Benson, No. 3

Louisville

  • CB Quincy Riley, No. 3
  • RB Jawhar Jordan, No. 25

The Matchups: There is a good draft matchup in this game with Riley taking on Coleman and Wilson. Coleman has been very good this season, helping himself for the 2024 NFL Draft. It would be a boost to Riley’s draft grade if he does a good job of covering Coleman. Verse needs a good tape because he is on the bubble between Days 1 and 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft.
