Salt Lake Stallions (0-1) at Birmingham Iron (1-0)
Line: Birmingham by 7.

Saturday, Feb. 16, 2:00 PM

The Game. Edge: None.

Birmingham won its first game, but suddenly has some serious injury issues. Four players will be out for this game, while five others are dealing with injuries as well. This obviously bodes well for Salt Lake, though quarterback John Woodrum may not play because of a hamstring. That will limit this play to a small projected wager.

Arizona Hotshots (1-0) at Memphis Express (0-1)
    Line: Hotshots by 13.

    Saturday, Feb. 16, 8:00 PM

    The Game. Edge: Hotshots.

Wow, a 13-point road favorite!? If that seems absurd, you don’t know how bad Christian Hackenberg is. Memphis’ quarterback is a train wreck. Hackenberg didn’t get a chance in the NFL for a reason. He’s not even good enough for the Alliance of American Football. Hell, I don’t think he’d even cut it in the Alliance of Saudi Arabain Football. Arizona is the play here despite the vastly inflated point spread.

Orlando Apollos (1-0) at San Antonio Commanders (1-0)
    Line: Apollos by 6.

    Sunday, Feb. 17, 4:00 PM

    The Game. Edge: None.

Orlando has the most NFL experience of all the teams in the AAF, which helped them win the season opener in a blowout. However, that was at home. It’ll be more difficult to win in San Antonio, where it looked like the Commanders will have a good home-field advantage. San Antonio is really doing a good job of supporting its AAF team, which shouldn’t come as a surprise. I’ve been saying for quite some time now that the Chargers should’ve moved to San Antonio rather than Los Angeles. At any rate, I like the Commanders to cover as home dogs.

Atlanta Legends (0-1) at San Diego Fleet (0-1)
    Line: Fleet by 9.5.

    Sunday, Feb. 10, 8:00 PM

    The Game. Edge: None.

This is my top play of the week. San Diego already made changes a quarterback after Mike Bercovici struggled last week. Of course, that wasn’t all Bercovici’s fault, as Mike Martz got him killed with poor protection schemes. It’s truly amazing that it’s been eight years, and yet Martz has learned nothing. I find it odd that the Fleet is favored by nearly 10 points when Atlanta has the better quarterback in Aaron Murray.
