Presumably for a better receiver or tackle that they can land at No. 32.
The Patriots will stand pat and select Drake Maye at No. 3. – Tom Pelissero, NFL Network
As one commenter said, “Translation: The Patriots want more.”
The 49ers have had discussions about trading Deebo Samuel or Brandon Aiyuk to move into the top 10. – Dianna Marie Russini, ESPN
This would presumably be for either a stud receiver or an elite blocker.
The Jaguars are calling to trade up. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Russini notes that they’re in the market for a pass-catcher. Perhaps they can move up to No. 9 for Rome Odunze.
The Patriots are highly likely to stay at three and select Drake Maye. – Todd McShay, Former ESPN
McShay notes that the Patriots would only move out if they received a crazy haul for the pick.
The Giants don’t want to risk another Beckham/Toney situation. – Todd McShay, Former ESPN
This is in reference to McShay saying that the Giants prefer Rome Odunze as their receiver of choice.
The Rams are targeting a move into the top 10 with a specific player in mind. – Dianna Marie Russini, ESPN
Russini adds that it’s not a quarterback. One of the top three receivers, a stud offensive lineman, or Brock Bowers makes the most sense because they can get a good defender at No. 19.
The Bears have said they are open for business to trade the ninth pick. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
It wasn’t the best strategy to destroy their leverage, but the Bears really need to move down with almost no resources beyond the first-overall pick. Chicago could trade down into the teens and land Dallas Turner or Byron Murphy.
The Rams are calling to move into the top 10. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
Perhaps a deal can be done with the Bears, who are likely to trade down. The Rams could be moving for a top-three receiver, Brock Bowers (with Tyler Higbee tearing his ACL), a top offensive lineman, or Byron Murphy.
Xavier Legette indicated that he would be drafted by the Panthers if available atop Round 2. – Joe Person, The Athletic
Legette also said he visited the Panthers four times, somehow.
“I know there are fans of Bo Nix in Denver’s building.” – Peter Schrager, NFL Network
For what it’s worth, Cecil Lammey, who is one of the most accurate team draft reporters, has Nix going to Denver in his mock draft.
“I’m hearing the Colts could move up to No. 9 if a top pass-catcher is available.” – Peter Schrager, NFL Network
The Colts haven’t been shy about their interest in an elite receiver. Brock Bowers is possible as well.
The Giants have been trying to trade up to No. 3 for Drake Maye. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
Some reports have the Patriots taking J.J. McCarthy, so the Giants may only have to move to No. 4.
The Giants are unlikely to draft a quarterback in the early rounds. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
This would be smart, as their putrid roster cannot handle a new quarterback.
The Panthers are open for business in trading the No. 33 pick. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
The top pick in the second round is very valuable, so the Panthers would be foolish not to explore all options.
The Jets’ plan A is to trade down. Plan B is Rome Odunze. Plan C is Brock Bowers. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
With Odunze likely off the board, it seems as though Bowers will be the pick.
Expect the Patriots to draft Drake Maye tonight unless a team gives the offer the Patriots can’t refuse. – Tom Curran, NBC Sports Boston
We’ll see if there’s a horse’s head in someone’s bed this evening.
The Vikings are more likely to keep 11 and 23 at this point, but they are exploring all options. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
This is most likely an attempt to gain leverage.
The Bears aren’t married to a receiver at nine. Tackle and edge are options, as is trading down. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
Chicago has only three picks after drafting Caleb Williams, so moving down makes the most sense.
The Chargers are content to stay at No. 5 to draft a tackle. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
J.C. Latham has been gaining a lot of steam to them lately.
The Cardinals are driving a hard bargain to move back and are “more than happy” to draft Marvin Harrison Jr. at 4. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
For what it’s worth, Mike Jurecki said that he doesn’t take any mock seriously that doesn’t have Arizona trading down.
The Patriots are now expected to draft J.J. McCarthy or trade down. – Pretty Rickey, NFL Insider
If so, this would be a huge L for the Patriots, who would just be drafting Mac Jones all over again.
NFL Rumors – April 24 Updates:
The Broncos are very interested in J.J. McCarthy. – Peyton Manning, ESPN
Peyton Manning is obviously not a reporter, but he may know some things about his former franchise. Keep in mind that Manning saying this openly could mean that the Broncos know they can’t outbid the Vikings or Giants in a trade.
The Chargers and Titans are the most likely destinations for Joe Alt. – Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated
They are the betting favorites to land Alt. The question is, what do the Titans do if they can’t obtain Alt?
The connection between the Broncos and Bo Nix “persists.” – Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated
Denver acquired Zach Wilson, but would still be interested in Nix. However, because of Wilson, the Broncos may not be pressed to trade down any longer.
There’s going to be a “race” between the Giants and Vikings for J.J. McCarthy. – Jeff Howe, The Athletic
This is exactly what the Cardinals are hoping for, and it’s why Arizona is unlikely to trade the No. 4 pick before it’s on the clock on Thursday.
The Raiders are thought to be high on Michael Penix Jr. – Dan Graziano, ESPN
This is what Charlie Campbell reported earlier, though it’s unclear if this means the Raiders will use the 13th pick on Penix.

This is why they’re not accepting offers, though they are willing to see if they can get blown away by a great deal.

Keep in mind that this might be a ploy to gain leverage in a potential trade.
Raiders GM Tom Telesco is enamored with Michael Penix Jr. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie notes, however, that this may not be enough for Telesco to pull the trigger on Penix at No. 13, but rather trade up into the end of the first round for him.
It’s looking likely that the Chiefs will draft Kingsley Suamataia. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Andy Reid is a BYU alumnus, so he might have a soft spot for Suamataia, who would fill a huge need.
The Cowboys and Jackson Powers-Johnson “hit it off” during his top-30 visit in Dallas. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Dallas desperately needs a center, so Powers-Johnson is a logical selection for them at No. 24.
The Broncos and Eagles are speaking about a trade. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
In this possible deal, the Eagles would move up to No. 12 to select Quinyon Mitchell, while the Broncos would trade down and acquire Bo Nix.
The cornerback the Eagles desire is Quinyon Mitchell. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline suggests that the Eagles could trade up a half-dozen spots for Mitchell.
The Dolphins could look to trade down if Graham Barton isn’t available. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Barton is considered likely to be drafted by the Steelers at No. 20.
NFL Rumors – April 23 Updates:
Rome Odunze recently caught passes from Caleb Williams, who was also throwing to Keenan Allen and D.J. Moore. – Tom Pelissero, NFL Network
This might be a non-story, but perhaps Williams will push Chicago to draft Odunze at No. 9.
The Rams are connected to Bo Nix. – Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated
It’s been eons since the Rams have drafted in the first round, so could they draft a successor for Matthew Stafford, who is 36?
The offers for the Patriots’ third pick have been “laughable.” – Mark Daniels, Mass Live
As Charlie Campbell reported, the Patriots have no intentions of trading down unless they get a crazy deal.
It sounds like the consensus within the Redskins organization is that Jayden Daniels is the preferred choice at No. 2. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie notes that not everyone is in agreement, and it’s not clear if the person most responsible for making the ultimate decision will pull the trigger on Daniels, but it seems as though we’re heading that way.
NFL Rumors – April 22 Updates:
The Bills are aggressively trying to trade up for a receiver. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
According to Charlie, Brian Thomas Jr. is the primary target for Buffalo.
The Steelers love Brian Thomas Jr. – Dane Brugler, The Athletic
Brugler says that No. 20 could be Thomas’ floor.

Charlie Campbell reported that Latu passed his medical, which was seen as a problem for him throughout the pre-draft process.
Teams around the NFL believe the Cardinals and Vikings have a deal in place for the No. 4 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Charlie notes that the trade hasn’t been made yet because the Cardinals are waiting to see if another team sweetens the pot. However, the Vikings have more ammo than anyone else to trade up.
The Patriots have turned down trade offers for the No. 3 pick. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
New England has said it is open for business, but only if it’s offered an unbelievable deal. It sounds like the Patriots are set on taking a quarterback at No. 3.
The Giants covet Drake Maye. – Jordan Raanan, ESPN
The Giants should be coveting upgrades at every position because they have one of the worst rosters in the NFL.
The Jets’ decision at No. 10 will come down to Brock Bowers or a tackle. – Rich Cimini, ESPN
Cimini cites that this is contingent on the top three receivers being off the board.
The Patriots are most likely to stay at No. 3. – Mike Reiss, ESPN
Why would they eschew a franchise quarterback when they don’t have one?
NFL Rumors – April 19 Updates:
Jayden Daniels has an interest in playing elsewhere besides Washington. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
Rapoport said that Daniels is still the favorite to go to the Redskins. Daniels is reportedly peeved that he didn’t get a top-30 visit all to himself, but this is likely an overblown story.
The Broncos have a good amount of interest in Jaylen Wright. – Chris Tomasson, Denver Gazette
Denver doesn’t have a huge need for a running back, but it hosted Wright on a top-30 visit.
Xavier Legette told the media he’s visited with the Panthers four times. –
I don’t know how that’s possible, but if it’s true, the Panthers obviously have huge interest in Legette, who would fill a huge area of need.
The Chiefs are expected to draft a left tackle in the first round. – Pretty Rickey, NFL Insider
Pretty Rickey apparently has made a name for himself on Twitter for breaking free agency news, so we’ll see if he’s right about the draft. Andy Reid is no stranger to drafting blockers, so a left tackle would be a logical choice at No. 32.
The Broncos love J.J. McCarthy, and are real players to trade up for him. – Pretty Rickey, NFL Insider
Pretty Rickey apparently has made a name for himself on Twitter for breaking free agency news, so we’ll see if he’s right about the draft. In this case, it would make sense for Denver to move up for McCarthy.
NFL Rumors – April 18 Updates:
Jayden Daniels is a 100-percent lock at two. – Pretty Rickey, NFL Insider
Pretty Rickey apparently has made a name for himself on Twitter for breaking free agency news, so we’ll see if he’s right about the draft.
The Giants have received lots of interest for their No. 6 pick. – Jordan Raanan, ESPN

These late meetings tend to tip the hand. The Rams obviously need pass-rushing help.
The Raiders are strongly considering Michael Penix, a tackle and a cornerback at No. 13. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
There’s also a possibility that the Raiders try to trade up from the second round for Penix. Charlie specifically mentions Quinyon Mitchell as a player the Raiders like.
“Sources say if the Bears go pass catcher with the ninth pick, it will come down to Bowers or receiver Rome Odunze.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
That’s if the Bears go with a pass catcher.
NFL Rumors – April 16 Updates:
“Keep an eye on Cincinnati” as a spot for Washington WR Jalen McMillan. – Eric Edholm, NFL media
McMillan has taken plenty of visits, one of which was to Cincinnati. The Bengals need receiving help with Tyler Boyd gone and Tee Higgins franchised.
The Patriots want Jayden Daniels the most of all the quarterbacks. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Unfortunately for the Patriots, Daniels could be snatched off the board at No. 2 by the Redskins.
“I’ve consistently heard that the Chargers will draft a tackle or trade down.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
So much for the Chargers replacing Keenan Allen and Mike Williams!
The Cardinals prefer Malik Nabers to Marvin Harrison Jr., but wish to trade down. – Mike Jurecki, Arizona Football Daily
The plan is apparently to draft Nabers unless the team can move down, perhaps trading with the Vikings or Broncos.
Antonio Pierce wants to trade up for a quarterback, but GM Tom Telesco wants to stick with Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Perhaps the two men can compromise and trade down for a quarterback.
Sean Payton desperately wants to trade up for a quarterback. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Denver would be better suited to trading down rather than selecting Christian Ponder or Blaine Gabbert. Sorry, wrong year.
“Speculation from people familiar with the Steelers is that Graham Barton will likely be the pick at 20.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Barton is projected mostly as a guard, but he can also play center, which would fill a huge need for the Steelers.
“People I’ve spoken to believe the Panthers atop round 2 are a possibility for Mike Sainristil.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
The Michigan cornerback’s stock is on the rise, and he’s expected to be drafted early on Day 2.
“No team I spoke with believes Brock Bowers will get out of the top 10.” – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
The Jets draft at No. 10, and they make so much sense as a team that will draft Bowers.
NFL Rumors – April 13 Updates:
“Wide receiver is an obvious hole, but it is offensive tackle that has continued to come up when speaking to sources about the Chargers.” – Jordan Reid, ESPN
The Chargers are expected to select either Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers, but not according to this ESPN report. The suggestion is that the Chargers would either select Joe Alt or trade back for a lesser tackle.
NFL Rumors – April 11 Updates:
“I bet if George Paton had his way Laiatu Latu would be the pick at 12. Pretty certain Sean Payton wants to do something different.” – Cecil Lammey, DenverSports.com
The Broncos are desperate for a pass rusher, and they hosted Latu for a top-30 visit. However, Sean Payton is desperate for a quarterback.
The Redskins have significant interest in Roman Wilson. – Ken Johannsen, Hog Heaven
If so, they’ll have to take him in Round 2. It makes sense, given that Jahan Dotson was a big disappointment last year, while Curtis Samuel signed with the Bills.
NFL Rumors – April 10 Updates:
The Jets are inclined to draft Brock Bowers or Rome Odunze at No. 10. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Tackle is no longer a priority in the wake of the Tyron Smith signing, so the Jets will need to obtain another play-maker for Aaron Rodgers.
NFL Rumors – April 9 Updates:
The Vikings “really, really” like Byron Murphy. – Darren Wolfson, KSTP
The problem is that the Vikings will have to use their first pick on a quarterback, given that they have none.
NFL Rumors – April 6 Updates:
Adam Schefter said he “doesn’t see” the Giants drafting a quarterback at No. 6, but could see them drafting a quarterback early. –
This makes the most sense. The Giants have a horrible roster and aren’t in a position to draft a quarterback who isn’t elite.
The Redskins are going “all in” on a quarterback and are turning down trade offers for the No. 2 pick. – Charlie Campbell, WalterFootball.com
Now it’s just a matter of determining which quarterback the Redskins want. Some speculation is that it’s Jayden Daniels, but it’s anyone’s guess for now.
NFL Rumors – April 4 Updates:
New owner Josh Harris is rumored to prefer J.J. McCarthy, while executives prefer Drake Maye. – , Ballsack Sports
If this is true, we’ll have to see if Harris is as dumb of an owner as David Tepper.
NFL Rumors – April 3 Updates:
Trey Benson is drawing heavy interest from the Giants. – Aaron Wilson, Houston Chronicle
The Giants desperately need a running back to replace Saquon Barkley. They could take him in the second round.
Malik Nabers has been shopping for a house in Los Angeles. –
While this is common practice for high-end draft prospects, it’s a sign that Nabers’ meetings with the Chargers have gone well.
NFL Rumors – March 28 Updates:
Antonio Pierce told the media that he wants a “damn runner” at quarterback. –
This tracks with defensive-minded coaches liking off-schedule quarterbacks, but one has to wonder why the Raiders didn’t make a play for Justin Fields.
NFL Rumors – March 27 Updates:
Seahawks GM John Schneider told the media that the Seahawks have a “lot to figure out” regarding the offensive line. –
Guard and center are huge needs for the Seahawks, so much so that they could draft a player at the position at No. 16.
Jim Harbaugh told the media that he can’t wait to build up the offensive line. –
The Chargers are set at left tackle, but they were very weak at guard and right tackle last year.
NFL Rumors – March 22 Updates:
The picks the Broncos acquired for Jerry Jeudy makes it more likely that they will move up for a quarterback. – Nick Kosmider, The Athletic
Denver didn’t get much, but it makes sense. The Broncos are desperate for a quarterback.
Jordan Morgan won’t get past the Redskins early in the second round. – Tony Pauline, Sportskeeda
Pauline says the Redskins love Morgan. Pauline also lists the Ravens, Cowboys, and Chiefs as teams that like Morgan.
NFL Rumors – March 21 Updates:
Jordan Morgan has been one of the players most commonly associated with the Cowboys throughout the pre-draft process. – Daniel Flick, Cowboys Country
Tyron Smith is gone, so a tackle like Morgan would make a lot of sense.
NFL Rumors – March 19 Updates:
The Cardinals have announced that they are open for business for the No. 4 overall pick. –
There are rumors floating around that the Giants want to draft a quarterback, so the Vikings are a likely team to move up that much.
NFL Rumors – March 16 Updates:
The Dolphins have met extensively with Laiatu Latu. Don’t be shocked if he’s the pick at No. 21. – Simon Clancy, Dolphins reporter
Charlie Campbell reported that Latu has some medical issues that could drop him to Round 2, but if the Dolphins are comfortable with his health, then they could certainly draft him at No. 21.
NFL Rumors – March 15 Updates:
There’s talk that the Giants will draft J.J. McCarthy at No. 6. – Connor Hughes, SNY
If so, they haven’t learned their lesson from the Daniel Jones debacle.
The Chargers appear to be in the business of drafting a receiver. – Jeff Miller, LA Times
I would think so after they cut Mike Williams and traded Keenan Allen. Malik Nabers seems like the obvious choice, but perhaps the Chargers like Rome Odunze more.
NFL Rumors – March 12 Updates:
The Vikings are aiming to trade up for Drake Maye. – Daniel Jeremiah, NFL Network
To do so, they’ll need the Redskins to pass on him and the Patriots to be dumb enough to eschew landing a franchise quarterback.
NFL Rumors – March 11 Updates:
The Eagles could target a running back in the NFL Draft. – Sal Paolantonio, Pat McAfee Show
Hopefully not too highly because the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley to a big-money contract, but a mid-round pick would make sense.
The Ravens have interest in Derrick Henry. – Josina Anderson, CBS Sports
Henry would be a nice fit in Baltimore’s run-first offense, especially with Gus Edwards gone.
The Raiders and Redskins have interest in Austin Ekeler. – Josina Anderson, CBS Sports
Ekeler is coming off a down year in which he got hurt in Week 1 and never fully recovered. He’d be a nice fit for the Raiders in the wake of Josh Jacobs’ departure.
The Giants have interest in trading for Brian Burns. – Connor Hughes, SNY
New York better not give up too much because it has tons of needs. Burns would be a huge upgrade in the pass-rushing department, however.
Christian Wilkins is a top target for the Browns, Lions, Texans, and Vikings. – Dianna Marie Russini, The Athletic
The Lions are the closest team to a Super Bowl win, so it would be nice to see Wilkins go there. However, Texas is a tax-free state, so Houston might be Wilkins’ preferred destination.
The Texans and Eagles are making major pushes for Saquon Barkley. – Connor Hughes, SNY
Both teams are Super Bowl contenders, so they can afford to make a move like this.
NFL Rumors – March 10 Updates:
The Jaguars haven’t given Justin Fields strong consideration. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
Atlanta passed on Fields for Kyle Pitts, so we know how they operate.
The Ravens, Bears and Chargers are serious suitors for Saquon Barkley. – Jordan Raanan, ESPN
The Chargers and Ravens have huge holes at running back. The Bears have some decent players at the position such as Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson, so they don’t need a running back all that much. However, Chicago has a ton of cap space, so it can afford a luxury signing like Barkley.
NFL Rumors – March 9 Updates:
The Falcons are a major contender for Kirk Cousins. – Jordan Schultz, Bleacher Report
It’s an obvious fit. The Falcons have $37 million in cap space and have a huge need at quarterback.
Mitch Morse visited the Steelers. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Pittsburgh’s in dire need of a center, and Morse needs a job after getting cut by the cap-strapped Bills. This would be a nice fit.
The Bears hosted Kevin Byard. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
Chicago may have a nice buy-low opportunity with Byard, who is coming off a down year.
The Eagles have given Hasson Reddick permission to seek a trade. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
It’s unclear why the Eagles would want such a great edge rusher to leave the team, but they have plenty of talent on their defensive line.
NFL Rumors – March 8 Updates:
The Steelers are open to hearing trade offers for Diontae Johnson. – Dianna Marie Russini, ESPN
The cycle of Steeler receivers: They’re drafted in the second round. They have great rookie years. They fall out of favor with the coaching staff. They’re then traded.
NFL Rumors – March 7 Updates:
Russell Wilson has had an exploratory meeting with the Giants. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
We predicted Wilson to go to the Giants because both sides are desperate. This won’t end well.
NFL Rumors – March 6 Updates:
The Steelers have interest in signing Russell Wilson. – Gerry Dulac, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Why?
NFL Rumors – March 5 Updates:
The Redskins are really into Drake Maye. – Mike Sando, The Athletic
This would be perfect for the Patriots, who prefer Jayden Daniels.

Smith would be a good fit in Miami, as the Dolphins haven’t had much at tight end in years.
NFL Rumors – March 2 Updates:
There are indications that Kirk Cousins will sign with the Falcons. – Mike Florio, Pro Football Talk
Florio says they are credible indications, so they must be. Cousins is a great fit for the Falcons, who are really just a quarterback and a pass rusher away from being a Super Bowl contender.
NFL Rumors – March 1 Updates:
Tyron Smith is unlikely to re-sign in Dallas. – Ian Rapoport, NFL Network
Smith is a great talent, but his health hasn’t been the same since his infamous bulging disc.
All signs point to the Bears drafting a quarterback No. 1 overall. – Adam Jahns, The Athletic
The only question is whether the Bears will be scared off of Caleb Williams after not having access to his medical.

The Falcons are a dark horse to sign Baker Mayfield. – James Palmer, NFL Network
Mayfield has worked with two Falcons coaches in the past, as Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson coached him while he was with the Rams.
NFL Rumors – Feb 26 Updates:
If the situation presents itself, the Giants will draft a quarterback this April. – Jordan Raanan, ESPN
If so, the Giants will be reaching for a quarterback at No. 6 with the top three signal-callers off the board. This is exactly what happened in 2019, and the Giants have paid the price. Reaching for a quarterback without addressing the offensive line seems foolish.
NFL Rumors – Feb 23 Updates:
The Raiders will be hyperfocused on quarterbacks at the combine. – Vincent Bonsignore, Las Vegas Review-Journal
The problem for the Raiders is that they are not in a position to draft a top-three quarterbacks, so they may have to wait until Round 2 unless they reach.
NFL Rumors – Feb 21 Updates:
Xavien Howard would like to join the Texans. – DJ Bien-Aime, ESPN
Howard will be released soon. The Texans could use another cornerback, but Howard is coming off two down years and will be turning 31 this summer.
NFL Rumors – Feb 20 Updates:
The Ravens will target a running back with pedigree this offseason. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs and Austin Ekeler are some of the obvious names that could be signed.
No one around the league expects Russell Wilson to return to Denver. – Jeremy Fowler, ESPN
The writing was on the wall when the Broncos benched Wilson in favor of Jarrett Stidham to finish the season. Wilson was dreadful with the Broncos unless he was playing from way behind in garbage time. Denver needs a new quarterback.
Kevin Zeitler is unlikely to return to the Ravens. – Jeff Zrebiec, The Athletic
The Ravens are barely over the cap, so they’re letting go of a talented guard. Luckily for the Ravens, this upcoming draft class is packed with offensive line talent.
Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields. – Adam Schefter, ESPN
The Steelers currently have a quarterback controversy between Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph. There would be no controversy if they traded for Fields, who would be able to present a big upgrade and help nullify the poor pass protection.
