2010 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Craig Brackins
Position: Power Forward
Size: 6-10, 230
School: Iowa State, Junior
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Brackins has to be kicking himself for not turning pro after his sophomore season as his numbers and stock have taken a hit during his junior year. He probably would have been a safe bet for a lottery pick last summer but will fall into the 20s, possibly even the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft that has a lot more talented post players than the 2009 NBA Draft did.
Player Comparison: Hakim Warrick. Brackins is a tall, but not very physical power forward who seems to feel more comfortable facing the basket or with the ball on the perimeter than banging down low. Warrick was in the same mold because of his slim build and that ultimately hurt his stock when he was drafted. Brackins has the potential to develop into a more physical inside player, but has yet to show that steady aggressiveness at Iowa State.
