2011 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Jereme Richmond
Position: Small Forward
Size: 6-7, 205
School: Illinois, Freshman
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: Due to a rollercoaster season both on and off the floor, Richmond’s journey to the NBA was sped up. He is not ready to be a contributor in the NBA but is still considered a borderline first-round pick due his potential, as well as the fact that the 2011 Draft class is very weak.
Player Comparison: Jamario Moon. Moon experienced a crazy ride before he got to the NBA, and Richmond may be in for a similar path. Moon left college early and bounced around in the NBDL and foreign leagues before finally finding a spot in the NBA. Both guys are extremely athletic, but like Moon, Richmond is not ready to be a rotational player in the NBA. If Richmond can realize his potential sooner than Moon did, he should have a better career. However, that is the question mark surrounding Richmond at this point of his career.
