Arthur Jones, DE/DT, Ravens. Age: 28.
Signed with Colts (5 years, $33 million)

Arthur Jones is coming off an excellent 2013 campaign in which he happened to be one of the league’s best 3-4 defensive ends. He’s a monstrous run-stuffer and applies decent pressure on the quarterback.
Randy Starks, DT, Dolphins. Age: 30.
Signed with Dolphins (2 years, $12 million)

Randy Starks has been one of the better defensive tackles in football in recent years, performing extremely well in terms of pass rushing and stuffing the run. He’s a strong player in the 3-4 and 4-3, making him one of the more prized free agents. Age is only a slight concern.
Linval Joseph, DT, Giants. Age: 25.
Signed with Vikings (5 years, $31.5 million)

Linval Joseph is a monstrous run-stuffer who can get to the quarterback quite well for a 325-pound defensive tackle. He’ll only be 26 in October.
Jason Hatcher, DT, Cowboys. Age: 32.
Signed with Redskins (4 years)

Jason Hatcher has always been a solid 3-4 player, but he took it to another level while in the 4-3 this past season. Hatcher proved to be a monstrous pass-rusher as a defensive tackle, so he should stay in that formation. The only downside with him is that he’ll turn 32 in July.
Paul Soliai, DT, Dolphins. Age: 30.
Signed with Falcons (5 years, $33 million)

Paul Soliai is a big-time run-stuffer who can also get to the quarterback. He can play in either the 3-4 or 4-3, so teams that run multiple fronts will love his versatility.
Henry Melton, DT, Bears. Age: 27.
Signed with Cowboys

Henry Melton was one of Chicago’s top defenders entering the 2013 season, but he struggled prior to tearing his ACL in late September. He was also charged for misdemeanor assault in October. He should be able to rebound if healthy, but the knee injury is a natural concern.
B.J. Raji, NT, Packers. Age: 28.
Re-signed with Packers (1 year, $4 million)

B.J. Raji was a dominant force in 2010 and 2011, but has since severely declined. Still though, the Packers think enough of him that they offered him a contract that would pay him an average of $8 million per year. The motivation just doesn’t seem to be there with Raji though.
Kevin Williams, DT, Vikings. Age: 34.
Signed with Seahawks

Kevin Williams, 34 in August, is no longer the disruptive force he once was, but he’s still capable of flashing greatness, as he did in the Washington game when he had two sacks against Robert Griffin in the fourth quarter.
Red Bryant, DE/DT, Seahawks. Age: 30.
Signed with Jaguars (4 years)

Red Bryant doesn’t offer much in terms of rushing the passer – he’s never had more than 1.5 sacks in a single season – but he’s one of the NFL’s top run-defenders. He’ll turn 30 in April.
Jonathan Babineaux, DT, Falcons. Age: 32.
Re-signed with Falcons (3 years)

Jonathan Babineaux has been a force in terms of stuffing the run and getting to the quarterback, but he just turned 32, so his best days are behind him.
Clinton McDonald, DT, Seahawks. Age: 27.
Signed with Buccaneers (4 years, $12 million)

The undersized Clinton McDonald is a liability against the run, but he’s a strong situational pass-rusher; he logged 5.5 sacks in 2013.
Tony McDaniel, DT, Seahawks. Age: 29.
Re-signed with Seahawks

Tony McDaniel doesn’t offer any pass-rushing ability, but he’s a tremendous run-stuffer.
Vance Walker, DT, Raiders. Age: 27.
Signed with Chiefs

Vance Walker is a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none defensive tackle. He’s passable as a starter.
Ropati Pitoitua, DE/DT, Titans. Age: 29.
Re-signed with Titans (3 years)

Ropati Pitoitua is a stout run-stuffer who offers a bit of pass-rushing ability. He played in the 4-3 this past season, but his best scheme fit is the 3-4.
Pat Sims, DT, Raiders. Age: 28.
Re-signed with Raiders

Pat Sims is a solid run-stuffer who provided a good push in the pocket this season.
Terrence Cody, NT, Ravens. Age: 26.
Re-signed with Ravens

Terrence Cody has never lived up to expectations, thanks in part to injuries. He dealt with hip and knee problems in 2013. He could always emerge to be the player most expected him to become when he came out of Alabama, but time is going to run out soon.
Ziggy Hood, DE/DT, Steelers. Age: 27.
Signed with Jaguars

Ziggy Hood, a former first-round pick, has been a huge disappointment. Perhaps he can eventually live up to expectations, but time is running out.
Fili Moala, DE/DT, Colts. Age: 29.
Re-signed with Colts

Fili Moala is a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-nothing type of lineman in the 3-4.
Aubrayo Franklin, NT, Colts. Age: 34.
Turning 34 in August, Aubrayo Franklin is no longer the player he once was. He’s still OK at nose tackle, but teams with a need at that position should aim higher.
