2027 Could Lack Interior OL Talent

Every year in the NFL Draft, there are some positions of strength with a depth of talent stretching from the first round into the middle portion of the draft, and there are other positions that lack good starting talent for the early rounds of the draft. In the early going of the 2027 draft cycle, multiple team sources say the interior offensive line lacks talent for the 2027 NFL Draft.

“OG [Greg] Johnson, Minnesota. The end,” texted an AFC director of college scouting in response to their being any potential first-round interior offensive linemen. The 6-foot-6, 327-pounder has been an effective starter at left guard while also filling in at left tackle and right tackle in his career when injuries were a factor. If he stays healthy this season, Johnson will enter the draft with three straight seasons of starting experience. Sources at two other teams thought Johnson had early-round potential as well.
