We are rushing headfirst into Week 5 of the College Football season; and people have already decided who they are backing. Everyone has their own favorite team that they hope is going to rise to the top. But it is even more important that many have their favorite players. A lot of the best football stars in the USA first got famous during their college years. So who is to say that we are not witnessing the rise of the next Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers?
Betting on the Rising Stars
People from outside of the USA and parts of Canada may not realize just how popular college sports are in the country. It would not be an exaggeration to say that there are people who take these games just as seriously as the professional leagues. It is the reason that sportsbooks have managed to build such a massive market around the football games that are being played on a pseudo-amateur level. Betting on the rising stars of college football is not as difficult as one might think; especially with online bookmakers.
Most people are familiar with the burgeoning iGaming market by now. Americans and Canadians have seen a drastic increase in the availability of offshore casinos; particularly in states and provinces that don’t have their own regulatory laws. It is part of the reason that Casino Days Canada has managed to bring in a large crowd of gamblers from the Great White North. But online sportsbooks are just as much of a part of the iGaming industry as casinos; if not more so.
Sports betting makes up most of the online gambling market. Part of the reason is that sports are so integral to culture; that most countries feel more strongly about allowing legal and legitimate bookmakers to operate within their borders. The other reason is that people simply love gambling on their favorite athletes; be they professional players or young up and comers with something to prove. With that said, we are taking a look at the rising stars that might just make it to the big leagues.
Jeremiah Smith
The Buckeyes’ star receiver is likely a name that will go down in football history. The top-ranking recruit in 2024’s class went on to become the top-rated receiver in high school recruit history. What is more impressive is that he made the top ten of all time. Smith is not just impressive on the technical level though. He is also widely beloved for his dedication to the sport. During his first year he broke freshmen records and scored an impeccable fifteen touchdowns. The dominant performance earned him a reputation as one of the best college wide receivers of all time.
Smith’s performance during his first year earned him one of college ball’s most prestigious awards; the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He is certainly one to watch out for in 2025. Jeremiah’s explosive starts and energetic performances on the field are bound to make him a legend in the NFL when his college years are well past him.
Cade Kubnik
The young Texan has taken the QB spotlight and held onto it for a good year now. During his first year with the Clemson Tigers; Cade Kubnik made a name for himself when he threw over 3600 yards and scored an incredible 36 touchdowns. His record speaks for itself; him having scored the second most touchdowns in Clemson College’s history.
The 2024 season saw Cade Kubnik lead the Tigers to the ACC Championship; a feat which earned him MVP honors. The young quarterback clearly has the strength to become one of the biggest names in college ball history. But he also has what it takes to explode onto the professional scene. We look forward to seeing him in the NFL; no matter the team that drafts him first.
Carson Beck
We are looking at another quarterback in Carson Beck. Beck is in a unique position; at least among the players on this list. He started out with the Georgia Bulldogs before transferring to the University of Miami. Beck has an impressive background with both teams; showing that he is able to adapt to any situation and work under pressure.
During his time in Georgia, Beck managed to lead the Bulldogs to the SEC Championship; performing admirably on the way. He has a few standout performances to speak of; most notable of which is a 459-yard game against Mississippi State. Beck also managed to score five touchdowns in a subsequent bout against Tennessee Tech.
The young QB’s performance with the Bulldogs already earned him a spot on the list. But he only continued to grow and improve once switching over to the Miami Hurricanes. He opened for them against Notre Dame; a position he earned based on his well-documented accuracy and strength. We would not be surprised if Carson Beck managed to become a football legend in the years to come.
Arch Manning
Was there any doubt that Archibald is going to make the list? He is already one of America’s most popular college football players by virtue of his family name. The Mannings have dominated the American football scene since Elisha Archie Manning played collegiate ball for Ole Miss. Peyton is one of America’s football heroes; and a player who has made quite the name for himself.
Arch Manning has quite a lot to prove as Peyton’s nephew. It is good for the boy that he is already making quite the name for himself. He is currently the star quarterback for the University of Texas. After a harsh injury, the young Longhorn stepped into the field and scored nine touchdowns and two interceptions. He managed to get an over 62% completion rate even after recovering from the pain.
The latest Manning star has shown that he has what it takes to play under pressure; a skill necessary if he hopes to make it in the big leagues when all is said and done. Many are following the boy’s career with great interest; hoping that he is going to be the next American football star.
