2012 NBA Draft Scouting Report: Andre Drummond
Position: Center
Size: 6-11, 275
School: UConn, Freshman
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Summary: It only comes along once in a while that an 18-year-old possesses the size, strength and athleticism that Drummond does. While he is still very raw in his all-around development, the sky is the limit for the UConn freshman, which is why he will likely be one of the top three picks in the 2012 NBA Draft. It likely will take him a year or two before he is ready to be a consistent NBA contributor, but he has the tools to be the next dominant big man in the league.
Player Comparison: Dwight Howard/Kwame Brown. Will he be the next Dwight Howard or the next Kwame Brown? Both Howard and Brown entered the league at a young age, but loaded with potential, which is why they were No. 1 picks. Drummond looks the part but until he spends a couple years in the league, it is hard to get a real gauge as to whether he will be a flop like Brown, or make the most of his gifts and turn into a franchise center like Howard.
