2013 NFL Draft Prospects: Georgia Tech

Rod Sweeting, CB, Georgia Tech
Height: 5-11. Weight: 189.
40 Time: 4.42.
Projected Round (2013): 4-6.
4/24/13: Sweeting is a solid sleeper cornerback prospect. He collected 58 tackles, six tackles for a loss, one interception and seven passes broken up in 2012.

There were some scouts at the East-West Shrine who felt that Sweeting was in the running as the best defensive player there. He continued to help himself with a good performance at the Combine.

9/1/12: Sweeting has a nice physical skill set and produced a quality 2011 season. He had 56 tackles, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and 10 passes defensed.

Sweeting had 38 tackles and a pick as a sophomore. He could move easily move into the second day of the draft if he improves his ball skills as a senior.

Omoregie Uzzi, G, Georgia Tech
Height: 6-3. Weight: 300.
Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
Projected Round (2013): 6-7.
4/24/13: Uzzi played well against Virginia Tech in the opening game of 2012 and then did well against Virginia, Florida State and USC. He has excellent mobility and would be a perfect fit for a zone-blocking system. Some teams in the NFL will want to move him to center, which could be a good fit. Uzzi did not go to the Combine.

8/24/12: Uzzi is an undersized, but athletic, guard who has been an All-ACC performer for the Yellow Jackets. He is very mobile and has no problem hitting blocks on the second level of the defense.

Uzzi is a perfect fit in the Georgia Tech option running attack. As a result, he should go to a zone-blocking team in the NFL that requires linemen to be mobile in order to create a moving wall. Uzzi probably does not have the bulk or strength to function in a power man-blocking scheme. Perhaps he could move to center.

T.J. Barnes, DT, Georgia Tech
Height: 6-6. Weight: 369. Arm: 34.78.
40 Time: 5.30.
Projected Round (2013): FA.
4/24/13: Barnes had 28 tackles, five tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks this season.

8/25/12: Barnes had 11 tackles with a sack in 2011 and was quiet. He occupies blocks at the line of scrimmage, but does not do a good job of disengaging to get in on tackles.
