Season so far

Every game in order, Week 1 first. Opp. rank = where I had the opponent in my power rankings in effect at kickoff. Recaps are mine, word for word.

Opponent's group in my power rankings at kickoff: Group A Group B Group C Group D Group F

Los Angeles Chargers

Week 1Sun, Sep 13 vs. Arizona Cardinals Opp. rank #31Group F
L 14-26 Line -8.5 ATS: Did not cover (-20.5)

Cardinals 26, CHARGERS 14 (LAC -8.5). The Chargers were the better team, dominating in all three facets. They controlled the clock, which frustrated Justin Herbert, especially after losing Ladd McConkey. 393-268 ARZ, 5.5-5.3 ARZ

Week 2Sun, Sep 20 vs. Las Vegas Raiders Opp. rank #28Group D
L 14-26 Line -6.5 ATS: Did not cover (-18.5)

Raiders 26, CHARGERS 14 (LAC -6.5). These teams both made huge mistakes in this game, but the Chargers committed more errors, including a late Omarion Hampton fumble when they were driving down three. Justin Herbert and Joe Alt were awful. 310-305 LAC, 5.0-5.0 tie

Week 3Sun, Sep 27 at Buffalo Bills Opp. rank #2Group A
L 16-24 Line +7 ATS: Did not cover (-1)

BILLS 24, Chargers 16 (BUF -7). The Bills made plenty of mistakes in the first half with a James Cook fumble and two Justin Herbert interceptions, but the Chargers couldn't capitalize on them and then made mistakes in the second half. 350-348 BUF, 5.6-5.4 BUF

Week 4Sun, Oct 4 at Seattle Seahawks Opp. rank #6Group B
L 27-30 Line +7 ATS: Covered (+4)

SEAHAWKS 30, Chargers 27 (SEA -7). The Seahawks led 30-13, with Justin Herbert doing nothing the whole game before a back-door push where the Chargers were able to get scores on ridiculous plays. 301-286 LAC, 4.9-4.4 SEA

Week 5Sun, Oct 11 vs. Denver Broncos Opp. rank #11Group B
L 17-23 Line +3.5 ATS: Did not cover (-2.5)

Broncos 23, CHARGERS 17 (LAC +3.5). The Broncos had Sean Payton calling the plays, but it didn't matter. Bo Nix still struggled, only putting together touchdown drives on short fields following Charger turnovers. Justin Herbert couldn't get anything going behind an injury-ravaged offensive line. 237-224 LAC, 3.9-3.8 DEN

Kansas City Chiefs

Week 1Mon, Sep 14 vs. Denver Broncos Opp. rank #15Group C
W 31-10 Line -3 ATS: Covered (+18)

CHIEFS 31, Broncos 10 (KC -3). Outside of one early drive, the Chiefs struggled in the first half with some shaky play from Patrick Mahomes. Kenneth Walker wore down the Broncos in the second half, and Denver could do nothing offensively with Bo Nix not scrambling at all. 392-176 KC, 5.9-3.7 KC

Week 2Sun, Sep 20 vs. Indianapolis Colts Opp. rank #27Group D
W 33-30 Line -6.5 ATS: Did not cover (-3.5)

CHIEFS 33, Colts 30 (KC -6.5). This was a back-and-forth game where barely any defense was played. The Chiefs won with two possessions in overtime compared to the Colts' one. 523-329 KC, 6.7-5.2 KC

Week 3Sun, Sep 27 at Miami Dolphins Opp. rank #32Group F
W 24-10 Line -11.5 ATS: Covered (+2.5)

Chiefs 24, DOLPHINS 10 (MIA +11.5). The Chiefs were up 14-7 when they began making mistakes. The Dolphins were able to hang around despite losing DeVon Achane, but the Chiefs eventually scored two late touchdowns to put the game out of reach. 334-329 KC, 6.8-4.9 KC

Week 4Sun, Oct 4 at Las Vegas Raiders Opp. rank #17Group C
W 30-27 Line -4.5 ATS: Did not cover (-1.5)

Chiefs 30, RAIDERS 27 (LV +4.5). This was a back-and-forth game where the Raiders took the lead with five minutes to go. The Raiders fumbled a punt return following a late Chiefs touchdown, which basically ended the game. 437-399 LV, 6.9-5.6 KC
