| The following chart comprises the weigh-in numbers for the running backs at the 2012 NFL Draft Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. 40 Times: As I explained on Twitter (@walterfootball), the official 40 times are incorrect, and they've been proven false via the NFL Network's simul-cam. For the 40 times, I use the NFL Network's unofficial times, which are more accurate. NFL teams use their own timed 40s anyway, so the official 40s are meaningless. |

Lance Dunbar was a senior. I hope the NFL do not look over this kid because he has true talent. I watched him play and he is one of the best back in the country. This guy should have received an invite to the combine but because he played for North Texas he was looked over. He is a true diamond.

What is the deal with Lance Dunbar? He was productive at North Texas but I have not seen or heard anything about him this off season. Is he hurt? Does he have a year left of eligibility? Anyone know for sure?

Excellent job with RBs. This is what I saw throughout the season. You can almost throw out anyone under 215 as a 3rd down specialist.
Would've like to see the agility drill results since that is way more valuable than 40 times. Explosion and quickness really does a nice job at separating the cream from the rest.

David Wilson's performance doesn't surprise me at all. I just graduated from VT and he is an all around stud. He wears a shirt and tie everyday to class becuase he was raised to be that respectful. Him wearing a suit to all the meetings was expected. He is a fantastic player.

Stock should be UP. His 40 time was still good, and he recorded the fastest 3-cone, 20 shuttle and 60 shuttle times among RBs in the last 6 years. His 40 will be better at his pro day. He's a round 3-4 guy for a team looking for Darren Sproles.

They should give David Wilson a football to hold during his interviews and see if he fumbles

Chris Polk running a sub 4.5 will certainly help him after the speed concerns people had regarding him at the Senior Bowl.

Walt,
You should post both 40 times just to see the comparison between them. Just a suggestion

Alfred Morris is faster than his 4.64. He runs with poor form. USF's Darrell Scott, however, is as slow as his 4.68. Robert Turbin is a big, scary man. He'll be a very good running back. Ahmad Bradshaw?

The three main guys classified as speed backs or scat backs have done fairly well. Ronnie Hillman impressed by coming in at 200 pounds, and had a great forty with a betters split. LaMichael James put on some bulk as well and ran a very fast time, though his split was less impressive. Chris Rainey was... okay.
Doug Martin's 40 disappointed me. His reps and weight were impressive, but I was expecting a 4.52. But, one of my other favourite sleepers ran a 4.44 at 222 with 28 reps, Robert Turbin of Utah State, so that's impressive. David Wilson ran quite a good 40, that'd push him to the #2 back were it not for Lamar Miller's more impressive time. Chris Polk has had a good combine, showing that he isn't overweight like people thought and running a very good 40. Terrence Ganaway proved that while fairly slow, perhaps too much so to be a starter, he's got the explosion at his size to be one heck of a short-yardage back.
