2010 Fantasy Football Training Camp Stock – If Brett Favre Retires
Brett Favre, QB, Vikings 
Brett Favre has reportedly told people in the Vikings organization that he won’t be coming back. While I still think Favre will play – he’s seriously a douche for doing this – you have to downgrade him in your fantasy drafts for now. There’s actually a chance – a .05-percent chance – that he’s actually telling the truth.
Percy Harvin, WR, Vikings Percy Harvin’s fantasy value drops if Brett Favre doesn’t return. With Favre, I have Harvin going 67-985-6. Without Favre, I have to drop that to 60-810-5.
Tarvaris Jackson, QB, Vikings 
Remember Chris Berman’s reasoning for the Vikings passing on Jimmy Clausen in the 2010 NFL Draft? “You don’t want to anger Brett Favre.” Oops! Tarvaris Jackson will start for the Vikings if Favre retires. Jackson compiles enough rushing stats to be a low-end QB2, but remember that he could easily be benched in favor of Sage Rosenfails. Don’t bother.
Adrian Peterson, RB, Vikings Adrian Peterson’s value doesn’t fall if Brett Favre retires. Peterson rushed for 1,760 yards and 10 touchdowns the year before Favre arrived. Ten scores is a big drop from the 18 Peterson generated in 2009, but remember that Chester Taylor vultured six touchdowns that season thanks to Brad Childress’ red-zone mismanagement.
Sidney Rice, WR, Vikings As you might expect, Sidney Rice’s fantasy numbers will fall if Brett Favre doesn’t return. With Favre, I have Rice going 75-1,100-8. Without Favre, those numbers will fall to 64-900-6.
Visanthe Shiancoe, TE, Vikings If Brett Favre leaves, Visanthe Shiancoe’s value takes the biggest hit, as Shiancoe was a big red-zone target for Favre. With Favre, I have Shiancoe going 58-640-8. Without Favre, those stats become 42-440-5.
