2015 Fantasy Football: Running Backs with Most Carries

I reference this stat a lot in my Fantasy Football articles. Running backs who carry the ball 380 or more times in a season tend to disappoint the following year.

Let's take a look at every running back who has led the league in carries the past 20 years. As you'll see, except for THREE real instances (two of which were by the most durable running back of all time), they've disappointed their fantasy owners.

DeMarco Murray had 436 carries last year if you include the playoffs, which is an absurd amount. He also caught 57 passes. Given that sort of workload and the fact that he has a history of durability issues, Murray should probably be avoided in fantasy leagues this upcoming summer, especially if he signs with a team that has an inferior offensive line.

There is a chance Murray will return to Dallas. If so, he could have a good year, but the odds are stacked against him. He'll probably be chosen way too early, so it would be better to go with a safer option.
