Welcome to the new Debaclation Nation, a fancy title for this Web site's new poll center.
Each Wednesday, I'll post an interesting (or boring) Debaclation Nation poll so you can vote and argue over it. I'll keep the Debaclation Nation polls archived, so you can go back and keep arguing or see who was right. With the NFC West 2011 NFL Season Previews complete, which team will win the division? The Rams are the only competitive team in the whole division so they'll probably take it. Arizona has a promising future, but Kevin Kolb's impact for this season will probably be minimal. I'm a believer of him for the future though. If Seattle would have kept Matt Hasselbeck they'd at least be in the running for the NFC West, but they've decided to go with Tavaris Jackson. That's quite a head scratcher. If they can grab a QB in next year's draft, then I think they can compete again, but this year looks to be an off year. The Niners will be a playoff team, just not this year. Frank Gore's holding out, Jim Harbaugh's impact on the offense won't be effective immediately due to the shortened offseason, and Alex Smith isn't the answer. It'll take this year to realize that finally. Colin Kaepernick has been doubted a lot, I actually believe he'll be a good QB. Not great, but someone like Mark Sanchez. A good team and a good supporting cast will help him for the future, but for this season, neither him nor Alex Smith will be able to lead this team to a playoff birth.

All these teams suck, so the only way to determine who'll win can be determined from the schedules...
The rams have an awfully hard schedule and I can see them falling into a whole and not recovering similar to what happened to Alex Smith in his second year in 2007 when they had a lot of expectations and a new coordinator...started out 2-8 and finished 5-11. I could easily see the Rams following suit. The Seahawks also have an incredibly tough schedule and have only regressed since last year because T. Jackson is clearly a downgrade from Hasselbeck. They'll win a few home games but their schedule is also very tough and its hard for young teams to play well on the road if they fall into early slumps. That leaves the Niners and Cardinals. The cardinals got better at QB with Kolb but their defense is still horrendous. They have no pass rush and just got rid of their best corner and lost adrian wilson. Patrick Peterson is a rookie and putting all their money on the fact that he'll be a Deion Sanders clone in year one is retarded. Realistically, Kolb will end up being an average QB...he was mediocre even playing for the Eagles with all those weapons and learning that system for three years and playing behind a great in McNabb. Average QB's + ***** defense = Cincinatti Bengals the last few years. The 49ers on the other hand have a very soft schedule and are putting all their eggs in the Alex Smith basket. If he is average, which is certainly realistic in the Harbaugh system, the niners will win games because their defense is extremely underrated. I'd say that the new coaching staff will let this team realize the talent they have and mold it enough into a 9 win team. Niners take it at 9-7.

People forget where the 49ers were at a year ago. People were predicting them to be the Saints of 2010 based on all their weapons plus the progression of Alex Smith. The latter didnt happen strictly due to the ineptness of singletary and jimmy rae. Theyre both gone and have been replaced with a QB guru in Harbaugh who will allow Alex to take that next step, or at least be serviceable. Just look at their last game last season, the only game without Singletary at the helm, and Alex put up his best game of the season. They won 38-7 that game...with a defensive line coach in charge.
The defense is still a strength as their run defense wont suffer that much from the departure of Franklin, as is evident by the entire league realizing that he sucks and refusing to give him any interest. The pass defense will only improve with an actual pass rushing outside linebacker instead of lawson and an improved secondary.. I don't understand where all this hate toward the niners is coming from. Theyre still the most talented team in the division and now have a coach who can utilize it.

Even if its a crappy division the seahawks still sort of proved that even with a 7-9 record they can still beat the defending champs in the playoffs

The seahawks and 49ers are among the worst teams in the nfl with the redskins, bills, and raiders. On the otherhand both the rams and cardinals have been improving a lot. I like them both but the cardinals defense is still way too really bad while the rams are almost decent defensively. They both have crappy O-lines but bradford can still get it done while kolb doesnt have enough nfl starts yet to carry an offense like that. Also steven jackson tips the scale in the rams favor by a lot.

The Cardinals seem to be getting all the attention from the Kolb deal, but does anyone remember that they had the worst pass rush and a bottom half secondary last year, and did nothing to improve it, other than getting rid of DMC and drafting Peterson? Plus their offensive line is terrible. The Rams are far and away the most talented team, and the 49ers should come in second by their running offense alone.

Rams win the division at 9-7, Cards just miss at 8-8. Seattle and San Fran have a heated contest to see who gets to draft Luck

The Rams are the better team, but the Cardinals have the easiest schedule. i think arizona sneaks in at 9-7 while st. louis missed out at 8-8

The Rams are the best team, and even though they have a brutal schedule, I think they will win the division, the Seahawks will suck balls this year even though their fans won't admit it, I think that the Cardinals defense will struggle since their best Wilson will be playing hurt and they won't have an effective enough pass rush, and the Niners will struggle due to the fact that they trust Alex Smith and that their secondary will be awful this year.

The Rams will win their division and not much else. Their offense will be one of the most high scoring with McDaniels running it. They also picked up Sims-Walker which I have as one of my big sleeper Wide outs for Fantasy Football. Braylen Edwards is the other.
