Debaclation Nation

Welcome to the new Debaclation Nation, a fancy title for this Web site's new poll center.
Each Wednesday, I'll post an interesting (or boring) Debaclation Nation poll so you can vote and argue over it. I'll keep the Debaclation Nation polls archived, so you can go back and keep arguing or see who was right. Terrelle Pryor had a press conference yesterday. Drew Rosenhaus said he'd be a first-round pick in the supplemental draft. Where will he be selected? June 15 |

Terrelle Pryor will be taken in which round of the supplemental draft?

I keep hearing about character concerns but what has he done besides sign some footballs for money. Maybe get some cash for a car? Look at USC and UNC and i'm sure there are MANY more teams. Sounds like a young kid trying to make money. He seemed to have gotten MUCH bigger at Ohio State while there. Does anyone know about his work ethic/film room study while there? That is what I would be worried about, not him autographing some footballs.

Rosenhaus hypes up all his clients, it doesnt mean anything. Last year, he was going on and on about all the interest teams placed in Terrell Owens, who ended up with one contract offer on the eve of training camp. Someone will probaly take a seventh round flier on Pryor because of his potential, but for someone with as low a floor as Pryor and someone with as much character concerns, he wont go any higher than that.

drew rosenhaus is trying to repeat the magic he made for willis mcgahee after his knee obliteration. if he manages to get pryor picked as a 3rd rd supp draft pick, he will scoop more rookies from the college ranks for next year. i give rosenhaus credit, he manges to sign troubled players in poor situations to new contracts with guaranteed money. i wodner what he will do with Plax.

Mike Shanahan can deal with low character guys-if you can handle cutler, you can handle anyone. Skins in 4 or maybe 3. 5 would be a slight fall, anything more I'm shocked. Ten bucks says the pats bid a 6th rounder for him and will trade him to OAK for a 2nd. -nathan
What the frick? Cutler has good character and isnt a pre-madonna flashy jagoff type.

@Austin actually i'll bet the odds the Raiders take him in the first is more 100-1 right now. Recently they've been drafting smarter, starting in the 2010 draft by drafting a good linebacker rather than C.J. Spiller or some athletic monster. Al Davis must have been stepped down from GM or just finally woke up and realized his drafting method is horrible. The Raiders will probably put something in for him, but just like how the last two drafts they got the two fastest players in the draft, they'll probably get Terrelle Pryor in the 4th or something. In 2010 they got Jacoby Ford (blazing speed) in the 4th. In the 2011 draft, they got Demarcus Van Dyke (again super fast) in the third round. Sure, both were a little overdrafted, but it's better than the Darrius Heyward-Bey incident.

Maybe the Eagles will take him and have him develop under Michael Vick for a few years as the QB of the future

I say 3rd round. It doesn't matter what the consensus is around the league, all it takes is 1 person to think he is worthy of this pick and convince team personel and it is a done deal. Look at Christian Ponder. Did anyone see him going at 12? Think about how many quarterbacks are busts that go in the first round anyway. Nothing is a guarantee and if you have 1 team who can afford to sit him and think they can coach him up, that's all that is needed.

"Pats have an extra second round pick next year, I believe. I could see them taking Pryor and giving him a shot at QB, with the alternative of moving him to wide receiver if he doesn't show progress. Maybe bring Moss back to tutor him."

Do we even care what Rosenhaus says? Some team will get very stupid and give a third or even a second round pick for Pryor.

Pryor doesn't make a lot of sense for any team, 5-1 odds that the Raiders take him in the first.

Remember, a pick you get now for a future pick (2012) generally cost you one round in the draft. Supplemental pick is worth one round more than regular pick taken at end of April. There would be no difference in the development process, since no draft picks have really done anything with their new teams. I say second round pick on that basis. Someone will think he would have been third round value in the draft. He isn't any worse a prospect than Newton or Kaepernick.

When Tebow lost, he vowed to never lose again (and didn't for the rest of the year).
When Pryor lost, Ohio State actually had to have assistants shadow him to make sure he didn't do or say something stupid. Character is just as important as talent. What an awful player comparison.

Sam, the difference between Tebow and Pryor is that while Tebow is a blue-collar, high-character good guy, Pryor is an egotistical, arrogant scumbag with no work ethic.
