NFL Week 17 Fantasy Quarterback Rankings

To differentiate between all the "Start 'Ems" on my Fantasy Football Start Em, Sit Em page, you can check out the Weekly Fantasy Football Rankings, so you can figure out whom to start between Player X and Player Y.

Below are my fantasy quarterback rankings and a set of links for my positional Weekly NFL Fantasy Football Rankings. Keep in mind that this list is for this week only; not the entire rest of the season.

The rankings are based on a traditional scoring system. Compensate for PPR and touchdown leagues accordingly.

2009 Fantasy Football Weekly Rankings: QB | RB | WR | TE | DEF

Updated 1/3
  1. Matt Schaub, Texans
Has motivation to win against a Patriots team with a poor secondary.

  2. Tony Romo, Cowboys
Big game for the Cowboys and Tony Romo, who is on fire right now. The last time the Eagles played a potent passing attack (Giants), they had problems tackling.

  3. Brett Favre, Vikings
The Vikings have the No. 2 seed to play for. Brett Favre will torch the Giants' maligned secondary.

  4. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers
You just saw what Matt Schaub did to Miami's secondary. Ben Roethlisberger should have a big game.

  5. Donovan McNabb, Eagles
Dallas' defense did a good job against Drew Brees, and the loss of Jamaal Jackson hurts Donovan McNabb's pass protection.

  6. Eli Manning, Giants
Coming off an embarrassing loss, the Giants will be up for a game against the Vikings and their struggling secondary.

  7. Tom Brady, Patriots
The last time the Patriots were in a similar seeding position (No. 3 vs. No. 4), Tom Brady played three quarters. Three quarters of Brady is better than what you'll get out of most other quarterbacks.

  8. Jay Cutler, Bears
Where did that Monday night performance come from? If Jay Cutler plays like that again - and that's a huge IF - he'll post monstrous numbers versus the inept Lions.

  9. Vince Young, Titans
Vince Young should rebound against a Seahawks team that has appeared to have given up.

  10. Joe Flacco, Ravens
Joe Flacco has six touchdowns in his last two games. He's a solid start at Oakland.

  11. David Garrard, Jaguars
Charlie Frye just threw for 333 yards against Cleveland's secondary.

  12. Alex Smith, 49ers
The Rams have been abysmal against the pass ever since they lost O.J. Atogwe. Alex Smith is a decent Week 17 start.

  13. Matt Ryan, Falcons
Tampa Bay's pass defense has improved lately, and Matt Ryan isn't 100 percent yet. Still, you could do worse in Week 17.

  14. Matt Moore, Panthers
Six touchdowns in his past two games. The Saints might be sitting a lot of their starters.

  15. Chad Henne, Dolphins
Chad Henne has gone for 671 yards and two touchdowns the past two weeks. He's an OK start if the Steelers don't have Troy Polamalu.

  16. Jason Campbell, Redskins
The only possible upside here is that Jason Campbell could be going against San Diego's backups for a half or so.

  17. Kurt Warner, Cardinals
Will play the entire game only if the Vikings lose. However, if the Giants beat Minnesota, Warner will sit out. If your other quarterback is playing at 4:15, you can afford to wait.

  18. Carson Palmer, Bengals
The Bengals will likely sit their starters in a potential gale.

  19. Josh Freeman, Buccaneers
  20. Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills
  21. Kyle Orton, Broncos
  22. Aaron Rodgers, Packers (Week 17 victim) - 1/2
  23. Philip Rivers, Chargers (Week 17 victim) - 1/2
  24. Peyton Manning, Colts (Week 17 victim) - 1/2
  25. Matt Cassel, Chiefs
  26. Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks
  27. Mark Brunell, Saints
  28. Mark Sanchez, Jets
  29. Derek Anderson, Browns
  30. Daunte Culpepper, Lions
  31. Keith Null, Rams
  32. Charlie Frye, Raiders
  33. Drew Brees, Saints (Mark Brunell will start) - 1/3
