2009 NBA Mock Re-Draft

Team needs and outstanding trades have been taken into account with this mock draft.
-
Cleveland Cavaliers: Glen Rice Jr., G/F, NBADL, 6-6
After getting kicked off the team at Georgia Tech, Rice Jr. had a terrific season in the D-League and would add some potential scoring punch off Cleveland's lackluster bench. -
Oklahoma City Thunder: Tony Snell, SF, New Mexico, 6-7, Jr.
Tony Snell could develop into a role player down the road due to his athleticism and ability to shoot it from deep. -
Cleveland Cavaliers: Mouhammadu Jaiteh, PF/C, France, 6-11, 1994
With four picks in the 2013 NBA Draft, the Cavaliers should take at least one foreign prospect. Jaiteh could be a solid contributor down the road with his size. -
Houston Rockets: Nate Wolters, G, South Dakota State, 6-5, Sr.
The Rockets don't have much depth at guard behind James Harden and Jeremy Lin. -
Philadelphia 76ers: DeShaun Thomas, SF, Ohio State, 6-7, Jr.
The 76ers need depth on the wing since Nick Young and Dorrell Wright are both free agents. -
Sacramento Kings: Kenny Kadji, PF, Miami, 6-10, Sr.
Kenny Kadji has good size and the ability to stretch defenses with his perimeter shooting. The Kings need depth up front. -
Washington Wizards: Isaiah Canaan, PG, Murray State, 6-0, Sr.
The Wizards need some depth at guard behind John Wall and Bradley Beal. -
Detroit Pistons: James Southerland, SF, Syracuse, 6-8, Sr.
With limitless range from the outside, James Southerland could find a home at the next level due to his ability to stretch defenses. -
Portland Trail Blazers: Livio Jean Charles, F, France, 6-9, 1993
Another player who caught the attention of NBA scouts at the Nike Hoops Summit, Livio Jean Charles plays with terrific energy. -
Portland Trail Blazers: Brandon Paul, SG, Illinois, 6-4, Sr.
I think Brandon Paul is being undervalued in this draft and could potentially be a threat off someone's bench. -
Memphis Grizzlies: Vander Blue, SG, Marquette, 6-5, Jr.
The Grizzlies could use depth at the two since Tony Allen is a free agent. Blue is a tremendous athlete and showed strides this past season with his perimeter game as well. -
Philadelphia 76ers: C.J. Leslie, F, N.C. State, 6-9, Jr.
C.J. Leslie is a ridiculous athlete who excels above the rim, but there are some concerns about his intangibles. -
Milwaukee Bucks: Will Clyburn, G/F, Iowa State, 6-7, Sr.
By addressing their point guard need in the first round, the Bucks should look to add depth on the wing. -
Dallas Mavericks: Erick Green, G, Virginia Tech, 6-3, Sr.
The Mavericks need more options at the guard since O.J. Mayo, Darren Collison, and Rodrigue Beaubois could all leave via free agency. -
Portland Trail Blazers: Norvell Pelle, PF, LA College Prep, 6-10, Fr.
With its third second-round pick, Portland can roll the dice on a young man loaded with a lot of potential. -
Utah Jazz: Mike Muscala, PF/C, Bucknell, 6-11, Sr.
The Bison big is an inside/outside threat and adds more depth inside in case Al Jefferson or Paul Millsap leave via free agency. -
Atlanta Hawks: Lorenzo Brown, PG, N.C. State, 6-5, Jr.
Lorenzo Brown would be a great value this low and an option to help replace free agent Devin Harris. -
Los Angeles Lakers: Michael Snaer, SG, Florida State, 6-5, Sr.
WIth Kobe's injury, the Lakers needs to add scoring options on the wing. -
Chicago Bulls: Solomon Hill, SF, Arizona, 6-7, Jr.
The Wildcats senior is a versatile wing who can do a little bit of everything on the floor, but doesn't excel in any one particular area. -
Atlanta Hawks: Grant Jerrett, PF, Arizona, 6-10, Fr.
A stretch four who is nowhere near ready to contribute right away, Jarrett will spend some time in the D-League. He does have solid potential though. -
Orlando Magic: Pierre Jackson, PG, Baylor, 5-10, Sr.
Jackson is getting some first-round buzz so he would be a terrific value this low. -
Minnesota Timberwolves: Andre Roberson, SF, Colorado, 6-7, Jr.
A tremendous athlete, Andre Roberson was a prolific rebounder at the college level, but is still improving his perimeter shooting. -
Indiana Pacers: Ray McCallum, PG, Detroit, 6-2, Jr.
More of a scoring point guard, Ray McCallum would be another point guard option in case D.J. Augustin isn't back next year. -
Washington Wizards: Alex Abrines, SG, Spain, 6-5, 1993
With their third pick of the 2013 NBA Draft, the Wizards go the foreign route. -
Memphis Grizzlies: Jackie Carmichael, PF, Illinois State, 6-9. Sr.
The Redbird senior could stick on a roster due to his toughness and work ethic. -
Detroit Pistons: Trevor Mbakwe, PF, Minnesota, 6-8, Sr.
Trevor Mbakwe should be able to contribute off somebody's bench due to his ability to rebound the basketball. -
Phoenix Suns: Ryan Kelly, PF, Duke, 7-0, Sr.
The Blue Devils senior is a stretch four who can stroke it from outside. -
San Antonio Spurs: Brandon Davies, PF, BYU, 6-10, Sr.
The Spurs could lose some frontcourt depth to free agency, so it makes sense to add some depth inside. -
Minnesota Timberwolves: Marko Todrovic, C, Montenegro, 6-11, 1992
The Timberwolves could use their fourth pick of the 2013 NBA Draft as a "stash overseas" option. -
Memphis Grizzlies: Myck Kabongo, PG, Texas, 6-3, Soph.
This is a total value pick for Memphis since Myck Kabongo has the potential to develop into a solid floor general.

I am going out on a limb and saying Timberwolves take Reggie Hamilton PG, Oakland University with second round pick. Pure scorer who can still distribute. Has had good workouts with several NBA teams.

I like Thomas Robinson but he won't benifit with on a team like the Bobcats. I would rather see someone who can make a bigger impact. I would love to see Harrison Barnes go here with the North Carolina connection and in the future IF the Bobcats are somehow contenting PF don't win championships unless they can shoot well from the outside. If its not Barnes then it should be Beal or Kidd-Gilchrist.

First if the Cavaliers take offense with the # 4 pick they will not take Barton @ #24. My draft for the Cavaliers looks like this--
#4--MKG, I think this is a no brainer, because defense is something that usually comes after offense so with MKG being a better defender it is much easier to work on his jumper than teaching him to play better defense. #24--Will Barton, he is instant offense. I think the only thing that is going to be a downfall to Barton is his size. If (and I say if) he can put on 20 lbs, he will be ideal for the #2 position the Cavaliers truly need. #33--Tyshawn Taylor, I could not agree with you more on this pick. I like his leadership and ability to play the true point, just like Kyrie. #34--Miles Plumlee, he is the true center the Cavaliers need, so Andy can go back to playing his true position, while even better he can come off the bench with Gee to bring even more energy off the bench.
