NFL Power Rankings 2025: Bills Drop Out of the No. 1 Spot After Losing to the Dolphins

Josh Allen
My current NFL Power Rankings for the 2025 NFL season. Bills Drop Out of the No. 1 Spot After Losing to the Dolphins.

I’m going to use these rankings as the order for my 2026 NFL Mock Draft during the early stages of the 2025 season. Follow @walterfootball.

NFL Power Rankings updated Nov. 11, 2025

    Group A:

  1. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Power Rankings Kansas City Chiefs (5-4) – Previously: 2.
The Chiefs looked like they were purposely hiding stuff from the Bills. They kicked a field goal from the Buffalo 1-yard line and refused to run with Patrick Mahomes. It’s almost like they tanked the game so they could beat the Bills in the playoffs.

If you haven’t visited the site in a while, you may have noticed the new look. Yes, after nearly two decades, we’ve finally re-designed our site to be more modern. This was not done on a whim, but rather out of necessity because of what occurred during the 2023 NFL Draft. Our site crashed during the entire first day of the draft, which was disastrous for our revenue stream because we make more money during the draft than any other time. The site crashed because a line of code conflicted with the old format of the site, so we had to transition to this new look.

Because we lost so much money during the draft, I want to point out that you can really help support the site by paying for the ad-free version of it. It’s $7.99 per month, but you’ll get a super-fast site with no ads. My developer will be adding new features to paid subscribers as well, so look for that in the near future. If you don’t want to pay, please spread the word about the site through word of mouth. That would also be a big help!

  2. Buffalo Bills Buffalo Bills (6-3) – Previously: 1.
This is how the Bills reward me for putting them No. 1 in my NFL power rankings last week. They were a complete no-show versus the Dolphins. This was predictable, but still disappointing to see the Bills lose outright rather than win by a couple of points.

  3. Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) – Previously: 3.
The Eagles seemed to return to their dominant selves in the rematch against the Giants. Sure, they beat a bad team by 18, but running so effectively was a huge deal. That elite rushing attack disappeared against the Packers, though Lane Johnson’s injury may have had something to do with that. Luckily for the Eagles, Johnson was able to return to the field toward the end of the game.

  4. Los Angeles Rams Los Angeles Rams (7-2) – Previously: 4.
The Rams would be 8-1 if they didn’t have that ridiculous second-half collapse in Philadelphia. Remember, they outgained the Eagles, 356-288, and averaged nearly one more yard per play. They blew a 26-7 lead with a fourth-and-1 stuff and a missed field goal, but they still had a chance with a game-winning kick, but it was blocked.

Los Angeles dominated the 49ers. They won 42-26, but were up 42-20 before a garbage-time touchdown. Next week’s matchup against the Seahawks will help determine the NFC West winner.

  5. Detroit Lions NFL Power Rankings Detroit Lions (6-3) – Previously: 5.
The Lions get revenge like no other team. They were out for blood against the Redskins, scoring on every drive except for the final possession where they were kneeling down. Congrats to those who followed us on our October NFL Pick of the Month, as well as the -20.5 +390 alt line!

  6. Seattle Seahawks Seattle Seahawks (7-2) – Previously: 6.
The Seahawks can look very good at times, but the level of competition is definitely a factor. They played only one team above Group C, which was a loss to the Group B 49ers back in Week 1 (when San Francisco was healthy enough to be in Group B.) The Seahawks have gone against four Group C teams and five teams worse than that. Still, they’re 7-2, and they had an impressive win at Washington and then at home versus Arizona. They hadn’t blown too many teams out, but their victory against the Redskins was great enough to elevate the team to Group B. Their big test will be against the Group A Rams next week.

  7. Group B:

  8. Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis Colts (8-2) – Previously: 7.
The Colts looked like they were going to lose their second-consecutive game with Daniel Jones fumbling away a potential victory, but Jonathan Taylor took over and dominated. He has to be considered a top-five MVP candidate.

  9. Baltimore Ravens Baltimore Ravens (4-5) – Previously: 8.
The Ravens limped into their bye at 1-5, but they’ve gotten almost everyone back and were able to beat the Bears, Dolphins, and Vikings. They have the talent to run the table. The Ravens are very good, despite what this aging cat lady had to say during the Miami game:

  10. New England Patriots New England Patriots (8-2) – Previously: 10.
The Patriots are for real, as evidenced by their outright win in Buffalo. They would be 9-1 right now if they didn’t blow the Pittsburgh game with all of their stupid fumbles. It’s amazing how much of a difference great coaching makes, as Mike Vrabel has made all the right moves thus far.

Drake Maye had his first tough defensive test against the Browns. He took six sacks, but otherwise passed with flying colors. He made some mistakes against the Falcons, but was able to lead his team to yet another victory. And he battled the rain in Tampa Bay, but was able to overcome it following a slow start.

  11. Green Bay Packers Green Bay Packers (5-3-1) – Previously: 9.
The Packers entered Week 10 ranked fourth in offense. They didn’t resemble a fourth-ranked offense on Monday night. Granted, it was against Philadelphia’s tough defense, but Green Bay was missing some serious juice with Tucker Kraft and Matthew Golden (to a lesser extent) out of the lineup.

  12. Group C:

  13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) – Previously: 11.
Three weeks ago, I talked about how I thought about moving the Buccaneers into the Group B tier, but then I recalled their injuries and couldn’t do it. Also, their six wins have come against five Group C teams and one Group F team. The one time they went above their weight class was the loss to the Eagles, who haven’t won since playing in Tampa. Well, they’re now 0-for-3 when going above their weight class. I know Mike Evans got hurt, but the Lions were down four starters in the secondary, and yet the Buccaneers managed only nine points. Tampa Bay’s offense looked very sluggish against a poor New Orleans defense. The Patriots also went into Tampa Bay and won.

  14. Los Angeles Chargers San Angeles Chargers (7-3) – Previously: 16.
The good news for the Chargers is that they were able to defeat the Steelers, albeit with the help of Aaron Rodgers sailing passes all night. The bad news is that Joe Alt still isn’t coming back. Pittsburgh lost a million cornerbacks during the game, and yet the Chargers still couldn’t score very much.

  15. Minnesota Vikings Minnesota Vikings (4-5) – Previously: 14.
The Vikings have some life, despite the loss to the Ravens. They were my sleeper pick to win the Super Bowl prior to the season, but they suffered way too many injuries to be competitive. Perhaps we’re seeing the team I anticipated now that most of the players are healthy, at least prior to the Ravens game where they committed eight false starts, a dropped touchdown, and a fumbled kickoff return.

  16. Denver Broncos Denver Broncos (8-2) – Previously: 12.
The Broncos are 8-2, but you can’t really take them seriously with their close wins against the Raiders, Jets, Giants, and Titans. Bo Nix was awful in the Thursday night victory. He was so inept that he must have thought he was battling the ’85 Bears instead of the terrible Raiders defense.

  17. San Francisco 49ers San Francisco 49ers (6-4) – Previously: 15.
Bryce Huff getting hurt was the straw that broke the camel’s back for the 49ers’ defense. Not that he’s as good as Nick Bosa and Fred Warner, but losing him made the defensive line even worse than it was. The result was C.J. Stroud having all the time in the world two weeks ago. The 49ers bounced back against the Giants, but it’s not like they had much of a challenge defending a New York offense with no healthy skill players. They were tested against the Rams and failed miserably. They continued to lose players in this lost season.

  18. Chicago Bears Chicago Bears (6-3) – Previously: 17.
The Bears were given up for dead after starting 0-2. They’re now 6-3, but there should be some skepticism regarding this record. The Bears took advantage of the CeeDee Lamb injury and then were outgained by a mile against the Raiders, but were able to win because Geno Smith self-destructed. They won at Washington, but the Redskins made numerous mistakes. They picked up a win versus New Orleans, but the Saints are barely an NFL team. Perhaps the loss to the Tyler Huntley-led Ravens should have been easy to predict. The Bengals then won at Cincinnati, but the Bengals were missing their top defensive players and started a quarterback with a sprained AC joint. The Bears were losing 20-0 to the Giants at home before Jaxson Dart left with a concussion.

  19. Dallas Cowboys Dallas Cowboys (3-5-1) – Previously: 22.
I moved the Cowboys from Group D to Group C following their win over the Redskins. I still would keep them at Group C following the Arizona game. The defense is awful, but the Cowboys can score a ton when they’re not shooting themselves in the foot.

  20. Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Steelers (5-4) – Previously: 13.
So much for that impressive win against the Colts. Aaron Rodgers air-mailed a million passes against the Chargers, while Pittsburgh saw nearly every cornerback suffer an injury.

  21. Houston Texans Houston Texans (4-5) – Previously: 19.
The Texans saved their season with a win over the Jaguars. They’ll be able to go back to .500 because they have the Titans next week. The soft opponent means that they won’t have to rush C.J. Stroud back from his concussion.

  22. Atlanta Falcons Atlanta Falcons (3-6) – Previously: 21.
I’d feel bad for Raheem Morris for losing to the Colts in what was a brilliant game for the Falcons, but then I recall that he was responsible for his team being a complete no-show in two games this season.

  23. Arizona Cardinals Arizona Cardinals (3-6) – Previously: 18.
The Cardinals are five plays away from being 8-1, which is crazy but true. What else is crazy but true is that Jacoby Brissett is better than Kyler Murray. It’s quite the coincidence that Trey McBride can finally score touchdowns and Marvin Harrison can finally stop sucking now that Brissett is under center. Brissett took a step backward against the Seahawks, but that was the first time he went against a top-10 defense since taking over for Murray.

  24. Jacksonville Jaguars Jacksonville Jaguars (5-4) – Previously: 20.
For the second week in a row, Jacksonville’s defense looked helpless against poor quarterbacks in the fourth quarter. The Jaguars couldn’t stop Geno Smith and Davis Mills.

Most of the Jaguars’ victories have come against poor competition. They’ll be an obvious fade in the second half of the season.

  25. Group D:

  26. Cleveland Browns Cleveland Browns (2-7) – Previously: 23.
The Browns should have beaten the Jets, but New York scored two special-teams touchdowns. In the end, it’s what the Browns needed. The loss helps their draft positioning, and perhaps we’ll get Shedeur Sanders on the field soon.

  27. Carolina Panthers Carolina Panthers (5-5) – Previously: 24.
Somehow, some way, the Panthers were 5-4. They’ve established that they’re not a Group F team in the NFL anymore, but they certainly weren’t as good as that 5-4 record indicated. It’s the latest in the countless examples we’ve seen refuting the infamous terrible Bill Parcells quote, “You are what your record is.”

  28. New York Giants New York Giants (2-8) – Previously: 25.
The Giants had a chance to beat the Bears, but Jaxson Dart left with a concussion. The loss will help the draft positioning, though you never want your quarterbacks to suffer those sort of head injuries.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals Cincinnati Bengals (3-6) – Previously: 26.
The Bengals can’t be in Group F with Joe Flacco stabilizing the offense. Their defense is so awful, however, that they allowed 39 points to Justin Fields and 47 points to Caleb Williams. Trey Hendrickson suffering an injury completely turned the game against the Jets, and his absence allowed Chicago to do anything it pleased.

  30. Las Vegas Raiders Las Vegas Raiders (2-7) – Previously: 27.
The Raiders hung around with the Broncos, but they accumulated only 180 yards of offense. If Bo Nix didn’t play so poorly, the Raiders would have gotten blown out.

  31. Group F:

  32. Miami Dolphins Miami Dolphins (3-7) – Previously: 28.
The Dolphins still can’t block or play defense, so I’m not moving them out of Group F, despite what happened versus the Bills. Buffalo was a complete no-show, and Miami has been able to benefit from this dynamic twice in the past three games.

  33. New Orleans Saints New Orleans Saints (2-8) – Previously: 30.
Not that beating the Panthers was overly impressive, but you have to wonder why Kellen Moore didn’t start Tyler Shough earlier. I don’t know if Shough will end up being a good NFL quarterback, but he certainly has more promise than Spencer Rattler. Plus, Moore needed to see what he had in his 40th-overall pick.

  34. Washington Redskins Washington Redskins (3-7) – Previously: 29.
Following the Seattle loss, I determined that the Redskins defense is so bad that I was willing to demote them to Group D. However, in the wake of Jayden Daniels’ injury, Washington has to be categorized into Group F. They certainly looked like a Group F team against the Lions, getting outgained 546-288 at home.

  35. New York Jets New York Jets (2-7) – Previously: 31.
The Jets got a BS win with two special-teams touchdowns. Incredible.

New York’s 2-7 record is especially remarkable because it’s gone against Group C-F teams in eight of its nine games. The only team they’ve battled all year that is above average is the Bills, and we saw what happened in that game!

  36. Tennessee Titans Tennessee Titans (1-8) – Previously: 32.
The Titans somehow covered their second or third spread of the year, depending on which line you had in Week 1. In their two definitive covers, they’ve been able to benefit from inexplicable nonsense.

2025 NFL MVP Projection:

1. Josh Allen, QB, Bills
2. Patrick Mahomes, QB, Chiefs
3. Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams
4. Drake Maye, QB, Patriots
5. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
