2011 NBA Free Agency Signings Analysis - Dec. 22

Chicago Bulls sign PG Derrick Rose to 5-year, $94.8 million extension
This is easily the best signing of the offseason. Rose is obviously the face of the franchise in Chicago, the hometown kid, reigning league MVP, and at only 23 years old, he will only get better and better. I also like the fact that under the new CBA, MVPs in their rookie contract are allowed to sign a larger than the max deal. That actually makes a ton of sense. See, something good did come out of the NBA lockout.

New Jersey Nets re-sign PF Kris Humphries to one-year, $8 million contract
The Nets were on the verge of entering the regular season with Shelden Williams as their starting power forward, and either rookie Jordan Williams or Dennis Horner as the main reserve. Ish. Humphries is coming off a breakout season with the Nets in which he averaged a double-double and is definitely an upgrade from Shelden Williams who will return to his more suited role of coming off the bench. He was seeking a multi-year deal, but instead will get another year to prove that last season wasn't a fluke and that he is deserving of a long-term contract. (See what I did there... I made through an entire analysis of Humphries' signing without mentioning the disaster that was his brief marriage to Kim Kardashian.)

Houston Rockets sign C Samuel Dalembert to 2-year, $13.7 million contract
Dalembert patiently waited his turn as the center dominoes fell with bigger names like Tyson Chandler, Marc Gasol and Nene finding their landing spots first. Hasheem Thabeet was the only true big man on a Rockets' roster with five power forwards, so Dalembert brings some needed size, experience, defense and shot-blocking abilities which the Rockets were obviously coveting based on their interest in trying to acquire Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum in the Chris Paul trade proposal.

Los Angeles Clippers sign PF Reggie Evans to one-year worth league minimum
Considering the Clips were entering the regular season with Brian Cook and Trey Thompkins as their main backups for Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, they sorely needed to add depth up front. He will add physicality, toughness and rebounding inside, as he averaged 11.5 boards in 30 games for the Raptors last season. This is a great deal for the Clippers and a steal at the league minimum.

ok maybe I should spifcey... It does not come with any one particular colour. When people talk about British/European/Caucasian people and don't acknowledge that they have strong cultural backgrounds, well I personally find that as offensive and as racist.

I don't think people shulod see this post as discriminating against their culture. Fashion is CULTURE, art, music, etc...Some people need to look deeper about fashion and see that it's used to express feelings and that persons way of life, just like Native America. Yes I agree that people shulod not buy cultural things from chain stores as it is taking something which belongs to a community and they are getting nothing for it, whereas as if you buy from the community this would be helping them. However I do see why some people are getting offended, but these pictures are showing appreciation of this culture and in no way discriminating against it. Some people may want to enlighten themselves by reading about Native America and see why some may be upset by this..The work is beautiful and I think you show great appreciation to this culture :)

All-star weekend as in 3 point coetnst, skills challenge, dunk coetnst, and H.O.R.S.E.We also want to see real player DNA/Reactions by what the player act like in real life if the get mad at ref or stay quiet they should act the same on the game. players should look like they're about to fight show players starting players running out the locker room and giving the other players on the bench high 5 s. show players warming up in their team jump suit, team shirt and pants, or something like that. Show players talking to reporters at the end of game on create legend mode. Show players walking into the locker room. show players to watch out for during the before game warm up.

As an obsessive NCAA fan, I'm pleesad to see you note that the college game is superior to the NBA. I gotta say, though, I'd recommend not pinning your hopes on Illinois they've lost a key player to injury and they got destroyed in the big 10 tournament. Add that to the fact that Big 10 teams almost always underperform in the big dance, and you've got to wonder how they're going to even make it out of the first round. But you know do what you will! ;)

+223Was this answer helpful?
