NFL Teams That Could Trade for Tee Higgins

Tee Higgins

I’ve recently discussed possibilities for players to either sign or get traded to certain teams. This analysis has been all over the place, so I thought I’d move everything to one page.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins requests trade (March 12, 2024)
Tee Higgins didn’t take too kindly to being franchised tagged. Higgins has requested a trade as a result. If he leaves, he will likely be a No. 1 receiver on whichever team acquires him.

Here are some teams that could trade for Higgins:

New England Patriots: The Patriots are in desperate need of a No. 1 receiver, as they’ll need to give their rookie quarterback a potent weapon. New England has the second-most cap space at the moment to get the deal done.

Tennessee Titans: The Titans have the third-most cap space. They also don’t have a viable receiver outside of DeAndre Hopkins, who doesn’t have much time remaining in the pros.

New York Jets: The Jets are going to try to acquire Davante Adams this offseason. If the Raiders don’t want to move Adams, I could see the Jets pivoting to Higgins.

Detroit Lions: The Lions were on the cusp of reaching the Super Bowl last year. Adding a dynamic threat like Higgins could push them over the top. Detroit is in the upper half of cap space to get this trade done.

Indianapolis Colts: The Colts just re-signed Michael Pittman Jr., but they need another receiver. There have been rumors about them trading for A.J. Brown or Jerry Jeudy (before Cleveland acquired the latter), so why not Higgins? The Colts are 10th in cap space.

Arizona Cardinals: The Cardinals have the fifth-most cap space in the NFL, so they could be in on Higgins as well. They plan on drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. at No. 4 overall – check out my 2024 NFL Mock Draft for more – but they could still want Higgins to have what could become the best receiving duo in the NFL to help Kyler Murray.

Kansas City Chiefs: The Chiefs don’t have any viable receivers outside of Rashee Rice. I’d list them higher, but they’re currently over the cap. Still, maybe they can move things around financially to get a deal done.
