Welcome to the new Sunday Smackdown section, a place for you to talk trash and discuss every NFL game during the week leading up to it and while the games are going on.

Unlike NFL.com's GameCenter, almost anything goes here. Certain words - the obvious ones - are bleeped out, but everything else is allowed and encouraged.

@Chris: You were right I was wrong on your straight up prediction of Ravens victory straight up. Congrats bud. Patriots in the last 5 years or so are wasting Tom Brady and that offense. I say this because Belicheck and company have had OVER 5 years to get a defense and have FAILED miserably!!! I'm one of the biggest Pat fans you will ever see, BUT, bottom line is this on the Patriots, they are the poster child for the expression "Paper Tiger." When you have a Great offense but a Putrid Defense, what can we really expect come playoff/championship time??!! Bill needs and has NEEDED to draft All DEFENSE for the past three years and he has stubbornly NOT. After Talib got injured yesterday Pats Secondary went from a C to a F in about 5 minutes. Thanks for letting a Patriot fan Vent. GLTA.

WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! sending ray lewis out with a trip to the superbowl, win or lose, the Ravens are taking him to New Orleans and that says something about this team... No Suggs the first 6 weeks, no Ray the last 11(10 for the bye week) to triumph and make it all the way to the SB.. its just a testament to the will of Ravens players... lets go Ravens, time to win the big dance!!

Weather in NE at game time will be in the 20s and windy as all hell (greater than 15mph). That hurts passing game and makes this a lower scoring game. NE wins but look for Baltimore to cover. 30-21

Atlanta wins out right at home. CK has been on a roll but does not play well today with all those Falcon fans and the noise, noise, noise! Atlanta 24-17

I do agree with the Total however, (weather is going to be windy and FREEZING COLD), you just have the wrong team with the 24. GLTA.

You got the first game right my friend....Can't say I agree with your second though. Pats probably won't cover, but a 7 point Raven victory???? I think not.

Well so much for my 4 team parley! 0-2...What does that pay?

I could not have been more wrong yesterday. The cold did not bother Manning. He put points on the board. The problem was being unable to stop Baltimore from putting points up!

Today is another day! I am leaning toward Atlanta and NE and the under in the NE game for a three play parley.

I'm more concerned with Coleman out for the rest of the season for that Seattle rush line. At this time I am only feeling good about Denver and New England. I'm leaning towards the Packers and really having trouble with Atl/Seahawk game. GLTA.

I feel quite certain about Denver, NE, and Greenbay. I have no idea on the Seattle game. My gut says go with Seattle because they are hot right now. I keep hearing crap about the game being too early for Seattle and they will not be at their peak physical condition at 10am west coast time. Does anyone place any weight on that?

I agree with your picks, except I am not so sure on New England. I see a much closer contest than the Monday Night game. It would be worth seeing how the Pats do in playoffs coming off buys.

Current trends SF ended the regular season going 6-3-1 or 3-2 the last five games. GB went 8-2 or 4-1 over the last 5 games.During the last 5 games SF outscored these opponents by 121

Both of The Niners & Packers franchises have a rich history so I will avoid citing Super Bowls from the 60
