3/9/10: Sam Bradford did not work out – he’ll do that on his personal Pro Day on March 25 – but it’s worth noting that he impressively scored a 36 on his Wonderlic. As a reference, Jimmy Clausen posted a 23.
2/27/10: Sam Bradford weighed in at 6-4 1/4 and 236 pounds. Bradford certainly did a lot of bulking up recently to quell the notion that he’s brittle and can’t take a beating. Despite being the inferior prospect, he has emerged as the favorite to go No. 1 overall to St. Louis, but I wouldn’t count out Jimmy Clausen quite yet, seeing as how the Rams haven’t even interviewed with him yet.
11/7/09: Sam Bradford is out for the year. He has too many questions, including his arm strength, durability and ability to transition into a pro-style offense. He’s fallen way behind Jimmy Clausen and Jake Locker.
10/10/09: Sam Bradford should have declared last year. He’ll learn his lesson this time, though he may not have a choice with a possible rookie pay scale coming in 2011.
9/12/09: Sam Bradford is the perfect example why any quarterback projected to be taken top-five overall should declare early. Stationed behind a poor offensive line, Bradford was 10-of-14 for 96 yards (6.9 YPA) and a score before suffering an injury that has knocked him out 2-4 weeks. Making matters worse, Bradford’s star tight end, Jermaine Gresham, is out for the year. Bradford is now in danger of being passed by Jevan Snead and Jimmy Clausen, though that obviously hasn’t happened yet.
5/10/09: Sam Bradford is currently listed atop my 2010 NFL Mock Draft.
1/13/09: I felt as though Sam Bradford needed a great game against Florida in the UPS-sponsored final winter practice game to surpass Matt Stafford in these rankings. Bradford went 26-of-41 for 257 yards and two touchdowns, but also tossed two picks. Because Stafford has a more powerful arm (and thus higher upside) he remains No. 1 on the 2009 list.

3/9/10: DeMarcus Granger only took part in the bench press at his Pro Day. Well… at least we know he’s strong like bear.
11/28/09: DeMarcus Granger has gone through so many injuries and surgeries that the Oklahoma medical department asked Granger to be a test subject for them. Granger, who has a history of off-the-field trouble, has ballooned to 330 pounds. He won’t be drafted. 1/10/09: Missed the UPS-sponsored fake national championship because of back surgery.
11/23/08: Owner of 16 tackles and 2.5 TFL through eight games, DeMarcus Granger’s stock is still hurt by his alleged shoplifting.
5/9/08: DeMarcus Granger is still suspended for allegedly shoplifting. Granger has first-round talent, but he may fall out of the top 32 picks in the wake of his foolish incident.
2007: DeMarcus Granger, a red-shirt sophomore, doesn’t have to declare himself until 2010. However, the Sooner defensive tackle had an outstanding freshman campaign and was a far cry from the guy who came into Oklahoma weighing more than 350 pounds.

9/12/09: Jermaine Gresham is out for the year to repair torn carilage in his right knee. Gresham could still be drafted late in the first round, but this goes to show that like Sam Bradford, Gresham made a grave mistake by not declaring early.
1/5/09: Back in October, Jermaine Gresham laughed at reporters who asked if he was planning on declaring early, citing that he wasn’t “even close to ready for the NFL.” Things may have changed since then, seeing as how Gresham finished the regular season with 58 receptions, 888 yards and 12 touchdowns.
10/26/08: Jermaine Gresham has 29 catches, 467 yards and seven touchdowns through eight games. If he declares early, he’ll be the first tight end drafted. However, Gresham was quoted as saying that he doesn’t even think he’s close to ready to play in the NFL.
5/23/08: As a mere sophomore, Jermaine Gresham caught 37 passes for 518 yards and an amazing 11 touchdowns. If he keeps progressing, he should declare early to exploit the weakness of the 2009 tight end class. If Gresham enters the 2009 NFL Draft, he won’t even be 21 when he’s selected.

11/20/09: A 4-3 under tackle and a 3-4 end, Gerald McCoy has 26 tackles, 13.5 TFL and four sacks in 10 games.
1/10/09: I’ve only listed Gerald McCoy in the 2010 rankings because I never thought he’d declare as a redshirt sophomore, but he’s worth noting after he picked off a Tim Tebow pass in the UPS title game. Gerald McCoy dominated with 10 TFL and 6.5 sacks in 2008, qualifying for the AP All-America Second Team.
8/1/08: Named the Big XII Freshman of the Year, Gerald McCoy started every game for Oklahoma. In two games against Missouri, McCoy had three tackles for loss and a sack.

2/28/10: Where did this come from? Trent Williams somehow ran a 4.88 at the Combine and displayed a lot more athleticism than anticipated.

10/24/09: Has struggled at times this year. Only a right tackle?
1/6/09: Trent Williams is having an amazing junior year, and could have challenged Duke Robinson and Phil Loadholt as the first Sooner lineman off the board if he declared early.
Auburn

3/9/10: Ben Tate looked good in his position drills at Auburn’s Pro Day. He may sneak into the second round if a zone-blocking team is interested enough.
3/1/10: Ben Tate made a lot of noise at the Combine, running a 4.45 at 220 pounds. He also posted 26 reps of 225, a vertical of 40.5 inches and a 10-4 broad jump.
1/16/10: Ben Tate rebounded with an amazing senior campaign, rushing for 1,362 yards and 10 scores on a 5.2 YPC. He also notched 20 receptions.
2/6/09: Ben Tate struggled along with the rest of Auburn’s offense, rushing for 664 yards and three touchdowns on a 4.2 YPC. Tate also caught 15 passes for 90 yards.
7/25/08: Ben Tate boasts an impressive 40 and a higher yards-per-carry average than Brad Lester in 2007 (4.5), but what’s up with his frequent clunkers? I can understand 17 yards on 10 carries against LSU, but I don’t get 35 yards on 14 rushes versus Tennessee Tech.
Fordham
John Skelton, QB, Fordham Height: 6-5. Weight: 241.

3/11/10: Two teams reportedly have a third-round grade on John Skelton. Considering the lack of depth at the quarterback position this year, Skelton could easily be chosen on Day 2.
2/27/10: John Skelton measured in at an impressive 6-5, 243. He also has great arm strength, and currently stands as a mid-round sleeper. Todd McShay recently berated Skelton’s intangibles and off-the-field issues (sound familiar?), but this seemingly was yet another one of McShay’s baseless fabrications.
1/15/10: John Skelton was invited to the Combine, so most of the country will get its first look at him come February.
Andrew Tyshovnytsky, OT, Fordham Height: 6-4. Weight: 317.

3/9/10: Andrew Tyshovnytsky shined at his Pro Day. In addition to running a 4.91 and benching 225 pounds 33 times, he performed well in the positional drills. If Al Davis’ gargoyles get these numbers to their master, Tyshovnytsky will be an Oakland Raider.
