2010 NFL Conference Championship Recaps
Packers 21, Bears 14
Well, not really. The Bears did a great job on Rodgers for the rest of the game. The Packers scored just one more offensive touchdown, and the Bears forced Rodgers into a red zone interception. Chicago had a chance to win at the end, but Mike Martz's moronic play-calling thwarted that effort.
Jay Cutler was anemic in the first half, going 6-of-14 for 80 yards and an interception, as he constantly overthrew his receivers. Cutler suffered some sort of mysterious knee injury in the second quarter and took himself out of the contest. Despite Brian Urlacher calling him the P-word on the sidelines, Cutler refused to go back into the game.
I'll have more on this in the power rankings, but Cutler is a major wuss. Philip Rivers played in the AFC Championship on a torn ACL a few years ago, yet Cutler couldn't go because of a little boo-boo? Are you kidding me?
As this happened, forum member Ryguy commented, "Can't wait to hear what Cutler's injury is."
Hyperborean quickly answered, "Sand in vagina."
Cal Hanie time!!!!
Good. They are putting Hanie in. They have a chance.
Thank god, apparently Hanie is going in.
Caleb Hanie!!!
Hanie didn't disappoint, going 13-of-20 for 153 yards, one touchdown and two picks. He led two scoring drives and looked infinitely superior to Cutler. As mentioned, however, Martz screwed Hanie out of a legendary comeback with an awful end-around on a key third down on the final drive.
On defense, B.J. Raji had a pick-six. Sam Shields collected the other two Packer interceptions to go along with a sack and forced fumble.
As for the Bears, Matt Forte had to do it all by himself for three quarters; he rushed for 70 yards on 17 attempts and caught 10 balls for 90 receiving yards.
Steelers 24, Jets 19
I don't know what happened to New York's stop unit in the first half. Even though the defense held Ben Roethlisberger to 7-of-14 passing for 96 yards and an interception prior to intermission, it could not stop the Steelers. Rashard Mendenhall trampled the Jets for 121 yards on 27 carries. Isaac Redman, meanwhile, chipped in with 27 yards on just four attempts.
Rex Ryan's defense showed no interest in tackling. It was pathetic. The Steelers actually had more points (24) by halftime than New York ran plays (22).
I really have no idea why LaDainian Tomlinson got the ball on the most important play of the game. On 4th-and-goal at the 1-yard line of a 24-10 contest, Schottenheimer called for a Tomlinson carry. Tomlinson was predictably stuffed at the goal line. He gained just 16 yards on nine carries, while Shonn Greene generated 52 yards on the same amount of attempts. It's almost as if Todd Haley kidnapped Schottenheimer and took over the play-calling.
The Jets simply didn't have an answer for Roethlisberger's scrambling. Big Ben's passing numbers were hardly impressive (10-of-19, 133 yards, 2 INTs), but he evaded enough pass rushers in the backfield and picked up a few key first downs (and a touchdown) to keep the ball out of Sanchez's hands.
For more, check out my updated 2010 NFL Power Rankings, which will be posted Monday morning.

I can't lie...we looked awful against the Texans.. Just bad. But I'll also say this in all seriousness... I would love to see the random drug test results from the Texans... That was insane, I've never seen a team play that powerful in the trenches, especially after playing in the wild card round. They were literally throwing our players all over the place. Their left tackle picked Suggs up and threw him like a rag doll a couple of times.. JJ Watt and Brooks Reed are rookies... So they're all-pro already?? With known Juicer Cushing right behind them?? Just pancaking veteran o-linemen at will? The Pats game will be different?

LOL at the Tebow haters. He went 2 games farther then anyone would of ever predicted. I never would of thought he would win multiple NFL regular season games not to mention a playoff game. Congrats to Tebow and the Broncos. may next year he continue to improve and play like the steelers game all season.
But the Giants are making me proud. I fully expect them to end this season just like they did 4 years ago. SuperBowl Champions.

Walt is a Tebow apologist. The thing is Walt, the Steelers game was the exception, v Pats or v Chiefs is the rule, the blueprint is there, just follow it and make Tebow do the things your average QB has to do to succeed, and take away his crutches. Only reason it got to this point is Steeler arrogance.

I'm a Tebow supporter but Walt is going overboard and flat delusional with his analaysis of him. Every fn excuse in the book when he has a crap game and his team loses by 20+.

Honestly how can the refs justify that blown no call for that fumble by Jennings. Someone please check Leavy's bank account because i suspect there is going to be a big deposit from McCarthy

Tebow is a TEAM QB, Rodgers is not. I agree with that comment that Rodgers was yelling at his OLine and Finley the most. I was at the game and Rodgers was straight up yelling at Jermichael. Honestly Rodgers reminds me of a spoiled kid that just throws temper tantrums when he doesnt get what he wants or when things dont go his way. Another thing is that McCarthy managed this game terribly at the end. He should not have gone for that onside kick with 5 min left. Basically it automatically put the Giants in field goal range and after one first down the defense looked like they gave up. I dont really know about Tebow because its so early in his career. He started 11 games this regular season(8-3) and 2 games in the playoffs(1-1). Rodgers and Tebow are different because the Broncos rely on Defense and running while the Packers rely on passing and then trying to hold a lead. Therefore there is really no accurate connection between the too because they play such different styles of offenses. Oh and im pissed the Packers lost oh well next year is always something to look forward to.

Fix the first sentence in your Ravens recap. You mean to say the Patriots, not the Texans. Good point about Leavy. How does the NFL justify putting him in the playoffs?

Rodgers never was yelling at "everyone", haha, what the f*ck game were you watching? The only time Rodgers would be seen yelling angrily was when HE missed his receivers and he knew it was on him. Seriously, though, they were all angry with themselves with their rustiness. It's like the bye week really hurt this team. Oh, and lmfao at "trade for tebow". Tebow is truly a QB who will never win a Superbowl unless he's a backup on a team with a REAL QB.

The Packers need to trade for Tebow. keep Rodgers for the first three quarters then start Tebow for the 4th. The problem is that Rodgers just yells at everyone but himself and Tebow lifts people up. The Bronocs recievers drop much more balls than the Packers but still come back and win while the Packers get worse and worse.

it is too bad that Denver didn't show up to play. You know you cant play zone against Brady, you have to get in his face, knock him & any QB can pick apart a Def if they got time.
Where the FK were the adjustments from Den? Seriously, NE def did that to Den. & #30 for Denver, please make a tackle, this guy was horrendous Fk Brady, hopefully Balt wins today

I normally dig your picks, Walt, but you have to get off this Tebow ball-washing bandwagon. Tebow is NOT a good QB, and most likely NEVER will be.
A game like last night's game is just what the doctor ordered. This garbage about "all Tebow does is win" needs to stop. It's the media and the Tebow ball lickers out there who make everyone else want to see him get exposed. I have nothing against him personally, but it was nice to see order get restored last night. You always want to have it both ways when it comes to your picks - you praise yourself when you get your picks right, and don't accept responsibility for when you get your picks wrong. And you do the same thing for Tebow, praising him when the Broncos win and blaming everyone else when they lose. Sorry to burst your bubble, Walt, but Tebow is a BAD, BAD QB. Why is this so hard for you to accept?

I'm sorry Walt, but it wasn't Denvers O-line that sucked, what you saw was a vintage BB defense mixing it up. Hell I saw some 5-3-3 formations out there. Just admit it, the defense was really good, you pissed away some cash and now your making excuses
Having fun sucking Tim's dick Walt?

Your an idiot Walter. Your just pissed you lost money on a game that you "predicted" horribly bad. You said Brady wouldn't be in FU mode? Did you even watch the game? Seriously how much was Tebow paying you to suck his dick to make a pre-game and post game analysis like these?

So you assign zero blame to Tebow for looking like a shiz bag? Its all him when Denver wins and never his fault when they dont.
