NFL Power Rankings 2025: Eagles and Rams Move into the Top Two Spots

My current NFL Power Rankings for the 2025 NFL season. Eagles and Rams Move into the Top Two Spots.

I’m going to use these rankings as the order for my 2026 NFL Mock Draft during the early stages of the 2025 season. Follow @walterfootball.

NFL Power Rankings updated Nov. 18, 2025

    Group A:

  1. Philadelphia Eagles Philadelphia Eagles (8-2) – Previously: 3.
The Eagles still aren’t running the ball as well as they did a year ago, but their defense has been sick in recent games. The addition of Jaelan Phillips appears to have put that unit over the top.

If you haven’t visited the site in a while, you may have noticed the new look. Yes, after nearly two decades, we’ve finally re-designed our site to be more modern. This was not done on a whim, but rather out of necessity because of what occurred during the 2023 NFL Draft. Our site crashed during the entire first day of the draft, which was disastrous for our revenue stream because we make more money during the draft than any other time. The site crashed because a line of code conflicted with the old format of the site, so we had to transition to this new look.

Because we lost so much money during the draft, I want to point out that you can really help support the site by paying for the ad-free version of it. It’s $7.99 per month, but you’ll get a super-fast site with no ads. My developer will be adding new features to paid subscribers as well, so look for that in the near future. If you don’t want to pay, please spread the word about the site through word of mouth. That would also be a big help!

  2. Los Angeles Rams Los Angeles Rams (8-2) – Previously: 4.
The Rams would be 9-1 if they didn’t have that ridiculous second-half collapse in Philadelphia. Remember, they outgained the Eagles, 356-288, and averaged nearly one more yard per play. They blew a 26-7 lead with a fourth-and-1 stuff and a missed field goal, but they still had a chance with a game-winning kick, but it was blocked.

Los Angeles dominated the 49ers. They won 42-26, but were up 42-20 before a garbage-time touchdown. The Rams then were up 14-3 and 21-12 over the Seahawks, dominating Sam Darnold once again.

  3. Buffalo Bills Buffalo Bills (7-3) – Previously: 2.
The Bills were a complete no-show against the Dolphins, but they fought back from a deficit against the Buccaneers. There was some doubt, but they even got the cover at the end. Josh Allen is now 16-10 against the spread off a loss since his second season.

  4. Kansas City Chiefs NFL Power Rankings Kansas City Chiefs (5-5) – Previously: 1.
The Chiefs looked like they were purposely hiding stuff from the Bills. Or, maybe they’re just destined to finish with a disappointing season. The loss to the Broncos was alarming, given that Patrick Surtain II didn’t even play.

  5. Seattle Seahawks Seattle Seahawks (7-3) – Previously: 6.
The Seahawks can look very good at times, but the level of competition is definitely a factor. They played only one team above Group C, which was a loss to the Group B 49ers back in Week 1 (when San Francisco was healthy enough to be in Group B.) The Seahawks have gone against four Group C teams and five teams worse than that. They haven’t beaten anyone above 18th in these power rankings Still, they’re 7-3, and they had an impressive win at Washington and then at home versus Arizona. They hadn’t blown too many teams out, but their victory against the Redskins was great enough to elevate the team to Group A.

  6. Detroit Lions NFL Power Rankings Detroit Lions (6-4) – Previously: 5.
The Lions are not in good shape. They desperately need home-field advantage because Jared Goff simply can’t play in poor weather conditions, especially when going up against a team that can generate tons of pressure. Given the Lions’ 6-4 record, it’s highly unlikely that they’ll avoid playing outside come January.

  7. Group B:

  8. Indianapolis Colts Indianapolis Colts (8-2) – Previously: 7.
The Colts looked like they were going to lose their second-consecutive game with Daniel Jones fumbling away a potential victory, but Jonathan Taylor took over and dominated. He has to be considered a top-five MVP candidate.

  9. Baltimore Ravens Baltimore Ravens (5-5) – Previously: 8.
The Ravens limped into their bye at 1-5, but they’ve gotten almost everyone back and were able to beat the Bears, Dolphins, Vikings, and Browns. They have the talent to run the table. The Ravens are very good, despite what this aging cat lady had to say during the Miami game:

The only issue is that Lamar Jackson doesn’t look healthy. He scrambled only twice against the Browns.

  10. New England Patriots New England Patriots (9-2) – Previously: 9.
The Patriots are for real, as evidenced by their outright win in Buffalo. They would be 10-1 right now if they didn’t blow the Pittsburgh game with all of their stupid fumbles. It’s amazing how much of a difference great coaching makes, as Mike Vrabel has made all the right moves thus far.

Drake Maye had his first tough defensive test against the Browns. He took six sacks, but otherwise passed with flying colors. He made some mistakes against the Falcons, but was able to lead his team to yet another victory. And he battled the rain in Tampa Bay, but was able to overcome it following a slow start.

  11. Green Bay Packers Green Bay Packers (6-3-1) – Previously: 10.
The Packers are pathetic. They were coming off two losses, yet they couldn’t separate themselves from a Giants team where Jameis Winston was throwing to Isaiah Hodgins and Jalin Hyatt. The Packers dropped countless passes and couldn’t get off the field on third down.

  12. Group C:

  13. Denver Broncos Denver Broncos (9-2) – Previously: 14.
The Broncos are 9-2, but you can’t really take them seriously as a Super Bowl contender with their close wins against the Raiders, Jets, Giants, and Titans. Bo Nix was awful in the Thursday night victory versus Las Vegas. He was so inept that he must have thought he was battling the ’85 Bears instead of the terrible Raiders defense. Nix came back to beat the Chiefs, but Kansas City continued to underwhelm.

  14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-4) – Previously: 11.
Four weeks ago, I talked about how I thought about moving the Buccaneers into the Group B tier, but then I recalled their injuries and couldn’t do it. Also, their six wins have come against five Group C teams and one Group F team. The one time they went above their weight class was the loss to the Eagles, who haven’t won since playing in Tampa. Well, they’re now 0-for-4 when going above their weight class. I know Mike Evans got hurt, but the Lions were down four starters in the secondary, and yet the Buccaneers managed only nine points. Tampa Bay’s offense looked very sluggish against a poor New Orleans defense. The Patriots also went into Tampa Bay and won. And the Buccaneers blew a lead in Buffalo.

  15. San Francisco 49ers San Francisco 49ers (7-4) – Previously: 15.
The 49ers have too many defensive injuries to make a deep playoff run, but perhaps they can win one postseason game if Brock Purdy and the rest of the offense remains healthy. San Francisco absolutely dominated an Arizona team that had been mostly competitive all year.

  16. Chicago Bears Chicago Bears (7-3) – Previously: 16.
The Bears were given up for dead after starting 0-2. They’re now 7-3, but there should be some skepticism regarding this record. The Bears took advantage of the CeeDee Lamb injury and then were outgained by a mile against the Raiders, but were able to win because Geno Smith self-destructed. They won at Washington, but the Redskins made numerous mistakes. They picked up a win versus New Orleans, but the Saints are barely an NFL team. Perhaps the loss to the Tyler Huntley-led Ravens should have been easy to predict. The Bengals then won at Cincinnati, but the Bengals were missing their top defensive players and started a quarterback with a sprained AC joint. The Bears were losing 20-0 to the Giants at home before Jaxson Dart left with a concussion. And they barely beat the Vikings despite being able to take advantage of some of the worst quarterbacking in the NFL.

  17. Dallas Cowboys Dallas Cowboys (4-5-1) – Previously: 17.
I moved the Cowboys from Group D to Group C following their win over the Redskins. I still would keep them at Group C following the Arizona game. The defense is awful, but the Cowboys can score a ton when they’re not shooting themselves in the foot. Dallas’ defense looked better versus the Raiders, thanks to the additions of Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson.

  18. Houston Texans Houston Texans (5-5) – Previously: 19.
The Texans saved their season with a win over the Jaguars. They’ve gotten back to .500, but the bad news is that they have to take on the Bills on a short week with Davis Mills, who took so many bad sacks against Tennessee.

  19. Jacksonville Jaguars Jacksonville Jaguars (6-4) – Previously: 22.
Most of the Jaguars’ victories have come against poor competition. The win over the Chargers appears to be an exception, but we could recognize the Chargers as poor competition because of their severe blocking issues.

  20. Los Angeles Chargers San Angeles Chargers (7-4) – Previously: 12.
The Chargers’ blowout loss is what we would have seen against the Steelers in Week 10 if Pittsburgh had any sort of offense. Justin Herbert was beaten to a pulp against the Jaguars, and it’s safe to wonder if he’ll make it the rest of the season.

  21. Pittsburgh Steelers Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) – Previously: 18.
The Steelers were able to hold on to sole possession of first place for at least one more week. Mason Rudolph saved the day, so Pittsburgh’s coaches have an interesting decision to make if Aaron Rodgers is healthy enough to play next week against Rodgers’ old nemesis, the Bears.

  22. Minnesota Vikings Minnesota Vikings (4-6) – Previously: 13.
The Vikings had Sam Darnold and Daniel Jones on their roster, but they went with J.J. McCarthy. I don’t know what Kevin O’Connell ever saw in him because it’s apparent that McCarthy should have been a UDFA instead of a first-round pick.

  23. Arizona Cardinals Arizona Cardinals (3-7) – Previously: 21.
The Cardinals are five plays away from being 8-2, which is crazy but true. What else is crazy but true is that Jacoby Brissett is better than Kyler Murray. It’s quite the coincidence that Trey McBride can finally score touchdowns and Marvin Harrison can finally stop sucking now that Brissett is under center. Brissett took a step backward against the Seahawks, but that was the first time he went against a top-10 defense since taking over for Murray. Brissett went on to set the NFL single-game completions record against the 49ers.

  24. Group D:

  25. Carolina Panthers Carolina Panthers (6-5) – Previously: 24.
Somehow, some way, the Panthers are 6-5. They’ve established that they’re not a Group F team in the NFL anymore, but they certainly aren’t as good as that 6-5 record indicates, though perhaps they will be if Bryce Young performs on this level every single week. Still, it’s the latest in the countless examples we’ve seen refuting the infamous terrible Bill Parcells quote, “You are what your record is.”

  26. Atlanta Falcons Atlanta Falcons (3-7) – Previously: 20.
The Falcons have a Group B roster – now downgraded with Michael Penix Jr. being injured – but a Group F head coach. Raheem Morris is the worst head coach in the NFL. Do you think the Falcons could have used some rest following their 11-hour flight home from Germany when the Panthers were mounting a comeback against them? Why didn’t Morris take the bye after playing in Europe?

  27. Cleveland Browns Cleveland Browns (2-8) – Previously: 23.
The Browns were able to score 13 points on special teams and defense, which was the only reason they were able to hang around with the Ravens. Well, that and their great pressure on Lamar Jackson. Still, Cleveland had no hope with Shedeur Sanders, who was 4-of-16 for 47 yards and an interception.

  28. New York Giants New York Giants (2-9) – Previously: 25.
I’d love to know why Brian Daboll went with Russell Wilson over Jameis Winston early in the season. I didn’t even know why they signed Wilson when they already had Winston. It was obvious that Winston was better than Wilson could have ever been against the Packers.

  29. Cincinnati Bengals Cincinnati Bengals (3-7) – Previously: 26.
The Bengals needed just one win prior to Week 13 to give Joe Burrow a chance to run the table. They had a chance against the Steelers before they gifted Pittsburgh the win with two surrendered defensive touchdowns. They have a tougher opponent next week against the Patriots.

  30. Las Vegas Raiders Las Vegas Raiders (2-8) – Previously: 27.
The Raiders hung around with the Broncos, but they accumulated only 180 yards of offense. If Bo Nix didn’t play so poorly, the Raiders would have gotten blown out. The Raiders were blown out against the Cowboys, and I found myself asking why they’re not in Group F. Ultimately, I think they have too many talented players to be in Group F, but they are close.

  31. Group F:

  32. Miami Dolphins Miami Dolphins (4-7) – Previously: 28.
The Dolphins were outgained by the Redskins in total yards and yards per play. It’s a shame that they have a bye this upcoming week, because I’d love to fade them following another bogus victory.

  33. New Orleans Saints New Orleans Saints (2-8) – Previously: 29.
Not that beating the Panthers was overly impressive, but you have to wonder why Kellen Moore didn’t start Tyler Shough earlier. I don’t know if Shough will end up being a good NFL quarterback, but he certainly has more promise than Spencer Rattler. Plus, Moore needed to see what he had in his 40th-overall pick.

  34. Washington Redskins Washington Redskins (3-8) – Previously: 30.
The Redskins outgained the Dolphins in total yards and yards per play, but lost because of multiple turnovers. They were the true winners in Spain, however, because they improved their draft positioning.

  35. New York Jets New York Jets (2-8) – Previously: 31.
The Jets got a BS win with two special-teams touchdowns over the Browns, but went back to their losing ways.

New York’s 2-8 record is especially remarkable because it’s gone against Group C-F teams in eight of its 10 games. The only teams they’ve battled all year that are above average are the Bills, and we saw what happened in that game, and the Patriots.

  36. Tennessee Titans Tennessee Titans (1-9) – Previously: 32.
The Titans, thanks to their cover against the Texans, are now 6-24 against the spread since Week 1 of last year. It’s truly remarkable how awful they’ve been.

2025 NFL MVP Projection:

1. Josh Allen, QB, Bills
2. Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams
3. Drake Maye, QB, Patriots
4. Jonathan Taylor, RB, Colts
5. Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles
