2025 NFL Draft Prospects: Offensive Guard

6/11/24: Banks started at left tackle for the Longhorns in 2023 and had a strong season. He played well against the Crimson Tide and their future pro competitors. Given his body type, Banks might fit best as a guard in the NFL. Banks made an impressive freshman debut, starting at left tackle for the Longhorns. He was a reliable run blocker and showed the potential to be a pass protector. With a quality skill set, Banks has upside and could be a riser for his draft class. He is a candidate to move inside to guard as well.

6/11/24: Booker rotated into the game during his freshman season with Alabama before becoming a starter in 2023. The massive Booker is a large, powerful blocker at the point of attack. Aside from back spasms that held him out against South Florida, Booker was a mainstay for the Crimson Tide. Booker could stand to trim some weight for the NFL.

6/11/24: Truss was the starting left guard in 2023, but an injury to Amarius Mims caused Georgia to move Truss to right tackle for some games. While Truss wasn’t bad, playing on the edge illustrated that Truss is a better fit for guard in the NFL. He is a strong blocker and capable protector when playing on the inside. Truss was the starting left guard for the Bulldogs in 2022 and had a strong season. He was a reliable interior pass protector and an effective run blocker. With his size, weight, and length, Truss is a massive interior blocker. It will be interesting to see if Georgia moves him to right tackle in 2024, and that appears to be the plan entering the season.

6/11/24: In 2023, Jackson was mostly at left guard, where he played solid football for Ohio State. His run blocking could be ahead of his pass protection for the NFL, but he has starting potential for the next level. Jackson was a tough blocker for the Buckeyes in 2022, blasting open holes in the ground game and doing a steady job of protecting C.J. Stroud. Jackson has upside to develop.

6/11/24: Ratledge started at right guard for the Bulldogs. He was solid there and could improve with more experience. His run blocking is better than his pass protection at this point, but Ratledge has a good skill set and the potential to grow into a starting-caliber guard in the NFL.

6/11/24: Monheim started at left tackle for USC in 2023. He was solid but unspectacular for the Trojans. In 2024 Monheim is moving to center, and that looks like a wise move. Monheim’s body type could should fit better in the middle of the line. Over recent years, Monheim has been a versatile blocker for the Trojans, starting at guard and right tackle as well. Gaining some weight and getting stronger would help Monheim in the NFL. At worst, Monheim could be a valuable game-day backup that can help provide depth at multiple spots.

6/11/24: Spraggins has been the Volunteers starter at right guard over the past three seasons and has shown improvement over that time. In 2023, Spraggins was much better in pass protection only allowing two sacks all season. Spraggins will enter the NFL with a lot of experience against good competition.

6/11/24: There were a ton of NFL eyes on the Notre Dame offensive line in 2023, watching star left tackle Joe Alt. While Alt was dominant, Coogan played well next to him, forming a tough left side of the line for the Fighting Irish. Coogan won the starting left guard job during fall training camp, and he could be even better in 2024 now that he has a year of experience. Notre Dame’s scheme is better than most college systems for teaching and developing offensive linemen, so that will help Coogan and his teammates with pro evaluators.

6/11/24: Fairchild broke into the starting lineup during the 2023 season, making 10 starts at left guard. Fairchild was reliable in both phases and showed the upside to improve with more experience.

6/11/24: In 2023, Campbell became the starting right guard for Texas, and he had an impressive season. Campbell was a reliable contributor to open holes for Jonathon Brooks. Now that he has some experience, Campbell could continue to improve and is a prospect with the potential to rise.

6/11/24: Brailsford was the starting center for the Washington Huskies in 2023 and had a solid season as a pass blocker protecting Michael Penix Jr. While he was the pivot man for Washington, Brailsford also had two starts at guard in 2023. After the season, Brailsford followed his coaching staff with a transfer to Alabama. Brailsford needs to gain weight and strength for the NFL.

6/11/24: Conner has been the Longhorn’s starting left guard for the past two seasons. Conner was a consistent run blocker being a steady contributor to help open holes for the Texas running backs. Conner should enter the NFL with a good amount of experience.

6/11/24: Roberts worked his way into a starting role during the course of the 2023 season. He played in 11 contests with eight starts. Roberts has good size and run-blocking potential. Roberts has the potential to be improved now that he has some experience.

2/10/24: During 2023, Putnam was decent for Clemson and extended his starting streak to 50 games. Putnam enters the 2024 season, having been a 4-year starter for the Tigers. He played guard for the Tigers in 2020 and 2021 before taking over as the starting center in 2022 and staying in the middle for the past two seasons. Putnam improved over each season, and while center could be his best position for the next level, he offers interior flexibility for playing guard or serving as the man in the middle.

6/11/24: Over the past three seasons, Zambrano has been a standout left tackle for the Redbirds. While Zambrano has played left tackle in college, he could fit better as a guard at the NFL level. Zambrano is a sleeper that could rise if he impresses at an all-star game.

6/11/24: Entering the 2024 season, Tate has been a three-year starter for the Tigers and is projected to be a starter at left guard in 2024. Tate has had the past two seasons cut short with season-ending injuries, so staying healthy for the entire season is vital to keep Tate from getting flunked medically by NFL teams.

6/11/24: Parks was a solid starter for Clemson in 2021 and 2022, manning the right guard position. He was limited to only two games in 2023 because of injuries, but Parks is expected to be back for the 2024 season at right guard. Parks needs a strong senior year to help his draft stock.

6/11/24: George started at right tackle for the Gators and had a mixed 2023 season. He did well as a run blocker at times while giving up too much pass pressure in many games. George was only in his first season as a starter since transferring from Alabama. He could improve after gaining some experience, but he needs development. Moving to right guard is a better fit for him in college and the NFL, and it appears that George will likely be starting at right guard in 2024.

6/11/24: Christman was a five-star recruit who landed with Ohio State in 2021. After redshirting that season, he was a backup in 2022. The 2023 season was missed with a knee injury, but Christman is said to be a talented player who could rise if he stays on the field for Kentucky.

6/11/24: El-Hadi was stuck behind Zak Zinter on the depth chart with the Wolverines, but El-Hadi played well when given some rotational snaps. He also did a nice job of filling in for Zinter late in the season when the veteran went down with an injury. El-Hadi could be a riser as a full-time starter in 2024.
