Cardinals Prefer Trade Down and Like Anderson, Wilson

There has been a lot of talk about the Chicago Bears trading down from the No. 1-overall pick, but they aren't alone in wanting to move down in Round 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Arizona Cardinals hold the third pick, and their preference is move down as well, according to sources. If the Cardinals are forced to stick and pick, they are said to like both of the top two edge rushers in Alabama's Will Anderson and Texas Tech's Tyree Wilson.

Arizona likes the skill set and makeup with both Anderson and Wilson. They feel both seem to be safe picks to turn into good pros. It sounds like Arizona would be happy with either one, so if the team was to move down slightly and land Wilson, the franchise would be pleased with that. Another player who would factor into the discussion if the Cardinals don't trade down is Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter, but Carter's draft stock is in limbo as he deals with legal issues.

If the Bears trade out of the first pick of the 2023 NFL Draft with a team that wants a quarterback, the Cardinals would be in position to take the top non-quarterback in the draft. A team that wants to ensure getting the third-ranked quarterback could seek to move up to the No. 3 pick. While Carter is an option if his legal situation clears up, Arizona is high on both Alabama edge rusher Will Anderson and Texas Tech defensive end Tyree Wilson.
