Game Recap Analysis

Oregon at Ohio State; Saturday, Sept. 11, 12:00 PM ET FOX

The Prospects:
    Oregon
  • DE Kayvon Thibodeaux, No. 5
  • RB C.J. Verdell, No. 7
  • RB Travis Dye, No. 26
  • WR Johnny Johnson, No. 3
  • QB Anthony Brown, No. 13
  • WR Jaylon Redd, No. 6
  • TE D.J. Johnson, No. 12

    Ohio State
  • WR Chris Olave, No. 2
  • CB Sevyn Banks, No. 7
  • TE Jeremy Ruckert, No.88
  • DE Tyreke Smith, No. 11
  • DT Haskell Garrett No. 92
  • FS Josh Proctor, No. 41
  • OT Thayer Munford, No. 75
  • NT Jerron Cage, No. 86
  • LB Dallas Gant, No. 19
  • CB Marcus Williamson
  • DE Tyler Friday, No. 54
  • DT Antwuan Jackson, No. 52
  • CB Demario McCall, No. 1
  • LB Teradja Mitchell, No. 3
  • WR Garrett Wilson, No. 5
  • DE Zach Harrison, No. 9

The Matchups: This game could feature two of the top prospects at their positions for the 2022 NFL Draft in Ducks edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux and Buckeyes wide receiver Chris Olave. This is an important tape for Thibodeaux, as could Ohio State may have the best offensive line he will face on in 2021. Pro evaluators will watch this tape closely and repeatedly. Thibodeaux, however, suffered a lower leg injury in the season opener, so he may not play against the Buckeyes. Similar to Thibodeaux, Olave could see better secondary talent with the Ducks, compared to many conference opponents.

It will be interesting to see if Ohio State's Sevyn Banks plays this week. He did not start against Minnesota in the season opener because of an injury. Hopefully, Banks returns to the field against in Week 2 to be tested by Ducks quarterback Anthony Brown and wide receivers Johnny Johnson and Jaylon Redd.

Game Recap Analysis

Missouri at Kentucky; Saturday, Sept. 11, 7:30 PM ET SECN

The Prospects:
    Missouri
  • CB Akayleb Evans, No. 26
  • RB Tyler Badie, No. 1
  • DT Kobie Whiteside, No. 78
  • OT Zeke Powell, No. 51
  • DE Chris Turner, No. 39
  • WR Keke Chism, No. 6
  • G Case Cook, No. 59
  • CB Allie Green, No. 24

    Kentucky
  • OT Darian Kinnard, No. 70
  • DE Joshua Pascal, No. 4
  • RB Chris Rodriguez, No. 24
  • FS Yusuf Corker, No. 29
  • NT Marquan McCall, No. 50
  • G Luke Fortner, No. 79
  • WR Josh Ali, No. 6
  • LB DeAndre Square, No. 5
  • TE Justin Rigg, No. 83
  • OLB Jordan Wright, No. 15

The Matchups: This is not a high-profile game in terms of preseason team rankings, but there is a lot of NFL talent to watch in this SEC East battle. The best matchups come when Kentucky has the ball, as Missouri cornerback Akayleb Evans has early-round potential, and he will see a quality receiver in Josh Ali. Wildcats offensive tackle Darian Kinnard is a massive blocker with surprising athleticism, and he will be challenged by a quality Tigers defensive line led by tackle Kobie Whiteside and defensive end Chris Turner.

Game Recap Analysis

Washington at Michigan; Saturday, Sept. 11, 8:00 PM ET ABC

The Prospects:
    Washington
  • CB Trent McDuffie, No. 22
  • CB Kyler Gordon, No. 2
  • TE Cade Otton, No. 87
  • G Jaxon Kirkland, No. 51
  • G Luke Wattenberg
  • WR Terrell Bynum, No. 59
  • G Henry Bainivalu, No. 66
  • DE Ryan Bowman, No. 55
  • QB Patrick O’Brien, No. 10
  • FS Alex Cook, No. 5
  • K Peyton Henry, No. 47

    Michigan
  • DE Aidan Hutchinson, No. 97
  • SS Brad Hawkins, No. 2
  • OLB Joshua Ross, No. 12
  • OT Andrew Stueber, No. 71
  • P Brad Robbins, No. 91
  • WR Ronnie Bell, No. 8
  • NT Donovan Jeter, 95

The Matchups: Michigan defensive end Aidan Hutchinson is a potential high first-round pick, and it will be interesting to see how Hutchinson plays after having the season-ending injury he suffered in the third game of 2020. If Hutchinson returns to his pre-injury form, he could be one of the first players selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Washington has been a factory for NFL defensive backs under Jimmy Lake, and that should continue in the 2022 NFL Draft. Trent McDuffie could be a first-rounder for the Huskies, while Kyler Gordon could go in the early rounds as well. It will be valuable to see how those two do against wide receiver Ronnie Bell.
