NBA FanDuel Plays for 4/5/2019

By Chet Gresham - @ChetGresham

Recent Advisories:

Russell Westbrook $12000 - PG - Thunder vs DET
50.1 per 35.2 minutes || $239.5 per point

We should be able to find some cheap plays as the day goes on and players are announced as out, so Westbrook is someone we can pay up for and the Thunder are still fighting for the right not to play the Warriors in the first round and Detroit could still finish anywhere from the sixth seed to out of the playoffs, so both teams will play all out which should keep Westbrook playing big minutes and putting up big fantasy points.

Mario Hezonja $4700 - SF - Magic @ HOU
50.7 per 42 minutes || $92.7 per point

Hezonja will get the start at point guard tonight, as Emmanuel Mudiay, Dennis Smith Jr., Allonzo Trier, Frank Ntilikina and Kadeem Allen are all out. He's not eligible as a point guard but that's where he's starting and if he gets point guard usage, he should be poised for plenty of DK points. He did put up 50.3 DK points in 34 minutes in their last matchup and Houston's defense isn't awful but they have nothing to play for which could push someone like Chris Paul to the bench, which would be a big upgrade for Hezonja.

Trey Burke $4200 - PG - Mavericks vs MEM
17.5 per 27.4 minutes || $240 per point

Burke can put up fantasy points in a hurry and tonight he will get all the work he can handle with Luka Doncic and Jalen Brunson out.

Elie Okobo $3600 - PG - Suns vs NOR
14.7 per 23.3 minutes || $244.9 per point

Devin Booker is out, which should give Okobo the start at point guard against a weak Pelicans defense that ranks only behind Atlanta in defensive efficiency against point guards since the All-Star break.

Goran Dragic $6500 - PG - Heat @ MIN
46.9 per 38.1 minutes || $138.6 per point

Miami is on the outside looking in for the playoffs at the moment but they still have plenty of time to get in and Dragic has taken over as the point guard, as he hasn't dipped below 37 minutes in his last four games. He's shown some great upside of late with 61.5 and 48.75 DK points games in his last four and Minnesota has slowly fallen in their point guard defense with so many injuries. Over their last ten games they rank 27th in defensive efficiency to the position.

Josh Jackson $5800 - SF - Suns vs NOR
59.3 per 46.2 minutes || $97.8 per point

With Devin Booker out, Jackson will take on a much bigger offensive role and in a game against New Orleans, that should turn into some big DK points. Since the All-Star break the Pelicans rank 25th in defensive efficiency against small forwards, IN his only game over 30 minutes against New Orleans, he put up 37 DK points and this time around he will be without Booker hogging all the usage.

Evan Turner $4800 - SF - Blazers @ DEN
18.7 per 21.3 minutes || $256.7 per point

Turner has gone off his last two games with two triple-doubles and 48 DK points in each. Expecting a third game in a row like that one is probably not a good idea but Seth Curry is questionable with left tibia soreness and had it wrapped in ice after today's shootaround. If Curry is out, Turner becomes safer and that would probably be the only way I'd want to play him tonight.

Richaun Holmes $7700 - PF - Suns vs NOR

Devin Booker's absence is great for the rest of the Phoenix players, as his usage was one of the highest in the league. Seandre Ayton is also out, so Holmes will get the start in a great matchup with New Orleans, who rank 29th in defensive efficiency to centers since the All-Star break.

UPDATE: Holmes has been ruled out. Dragan Bender and Ray Spalding both get good enough bumps for value plays.

LaMarcus Aldridge $8800 - PF - Spurs @ WAS
38.4 per 27.5 minutes || $229.2 per point

The Spurs need to win and pass the Thunder in seeding to keep from playing the Warriors which should keep Aldridge playing big minutes. HE already put up 55.3 DK points against the Wizards earlier this season and has 60 and 70-plus DK points games in his last six. That's the upside we're looking for tonight and the Wizards are just the team to give it up.

Andre Drummond $10900 - C - Pistons @ OKC
27.8 per 26.9 minutes || $392.1 per point

If Blake Griffin is out again tonight, I will again go for Drummond, who has topped 54 DK points in his last four games and 60 DK points in three of his last four. This is an important game for both teams and if Drummond is given the extra usage with Griffin's absence, I'm on board.

Ivan Rabb $6500 - PF/C - Grizzlies @ DAL
24.6 per 30.1 minutes || $264.2 per point

Rabb saw a big boost in minutes and usage in his last game due to Jonas Valanciunas being shut down for the season and put up 32 DK points in 31 minutes. Add in that Cody Zeller is still out and Rabb should again be called on tonight.
