This went differently than I expected when starting, but what to do...

Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Bengals: Joe Burrow, Quarterback, LSU

The Bengals need a quarterback.

2. Redskins: Chase Young, Defensive End, Ohio State

Young is the best player in the draft, the Redskins simply cannot allow themselves to pass him up.

3. Chargers: Justin Herbert, Quarterback, Oregon

The Chargers like Herbert and with Tua's injury concerns cannot allow the Dolphins to pick before them.

4. Jaguars: Isaiah Simmons, Outside Linebacker, Clemson

The Jags trade Ngakoue, who they need to get rid of, and pick 9 for certified freak of nature Isaiah Simmons.

5. Dolphins: Andrew Thomas, Offensive Tackle, Georgia

The dolphins start fixing their offensive line and pass on Tua, confident they can pick him at more accurate value later.

6. Lions: Jeff Okudah, Cornerback, Ohio State

The Lions get the player they wanted anyway and gain whatever the Chargers traded them.

7. Panthers: Derrick Brown, Defensive Tackle, Auburn

With the offensive line bolstered in the off-season and Simmons gone, they take the next position of need.

8. Cardinals: Jedrick Wills Jr., Offensive Tackle, Alabama

With DeAndre Hopkins as new WR1, the Cardinals take an OT to help Murray get the ball to Hopkins.

9. Giants: Tristan Wirfs, Offensive Tackle, Iowa

Maybe the player the Giants would have picked at 4, now they get him at 9.

10. Browns: CeeDee Lamb, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma

OT is an option here, but not the only one. Lamb allows ageing Landry to play in the slot and secures the future if OBJ wants to leave (you never know).

11. Jets: Mekhi Becton, Offensive Tackle, Louisville

I think the Bucs would want to trade up to get him, but the Jets have a good chance of missing Jeudy and Ruggs at 14, which I think is their next option, and the Bucs are in win now mode and cannot give up a second this year.

12. Raiders: Jerry Jeudy, Wide Receiver, Alabama

The Raiders can take a good corner later in the first and get a WR for now and the future.

13. Buccaneers: Henry Ruggs III, Wide Receiver, Alabama

With the top tackle prospects gone, the Bucs trade up one spot to get another weapon for Tom Brady, especially as the depth behind Evans and Godwin is weak.

14. 49ers: Javon Kinlaw, Defensive Tackle, South Carolina

The 49ers straight up replace DeForest Buckner, save cap space and get a needed pick on day 2.

15. Broncos: C.J. Henderson, Cornerback, Florida

The Broncos are set on Drew Lock and take the second best CB in the class.

16. Falcons: K'Lavon Chaisson, Defensive End, LSU

The falcons were unwilling to trade up further than 13 and unable to get to 13-15, since that teams could'nt afford to let Atlanta pick their players.
