The NBA is all about finding stars, you need 2-3 superstars to have a chance at the title. You draft them regardless of position. After that shooting, versatility, passing and defense matter most.

Round 1

Round 1: 1-15
1. Warriors: Prospect not selected

LaMelo Ball (Illawarra Hawks, PG, 2001)
This draft is really weak in Star power but Ball is a 6'7" point guard with triple double potential. If anyone can teach him to shoot it is the splash brothers. He can come off the bench for a few years. Closing out games with Ball, Curry, Thompson, Wiggins, and Green sounds appealing.

2. Cavaliers: Prospect not selected

Anthony Edwards (Georgia, SG, Freshman)
Even though the Cavs have drafted guards in each of the past drafts Edwards is the pick. Star power is the key. You can trade the one that doesn't pan out. Edwards scoring potential is too good to pass on.

3. Timberwolves: Prospect not selected

Deni Avdija (Israel, SF/PF, 2001)
Shooting is vital in the NBA and the Wolves ned spacing with Russell and Towns. Avdija has solid catch and shoot skills.

4. Hawks: Prospect not selected

Killian Hayes (Ratiopharm Ulm, PG, 2001)
The Hawks really need a secondary playmaker to ease the burden on Young. Hayes has great playmaking skills.

5. Pistons: Prospect not selected

Onyeka Okongwu (USC, C, Freshman)
The Pistons just traded their C and Wood was dynamic to end the year but he is a free agent. Onyeka is an explosive athlete with the 3rd highest plus minus in the country.

6. Knicks: Prospect not selected

Cole Anthony (North Carolina, PG, Freshman)
The Knicks need playmakers. Cole will do better in the NBA with more talented players around him. Oh, wait, he's going to New York and they suck. Regardless, they need a PG.

7. Bulls: Prospect not selected

Isaac Okoro (Auburn, SF/PF, Freshman)
Okoro has defensive versatility and the athleticism to grow into a bigger offensive threat. Toppin is too similar to Carter to draft and I am not sold on Wiseman this high.

Bulls's Needs via ESPN's RPM

8. Hornets: Prospect not selected

Obi Toppin (Dayton, PF/C, Sophomore)
Toppin is a crazy athlete and looks like the modern day C, the Hornets need everything so why not.

9. Wizards: Prospect not selected

James Wiseman C Memphis
Wiseman has great size and tools but will he be the next Joel Emdied or Eddie Curry? It's worth it for a team with no future that needs to hit a homerun to be relevant again.

Wizards's Needs via ESPN's RPM

10. Suns: Prospect not selected

Tyrese Haliburton (Iowa State, PG, Sophomore)
Rubio is good but a younger version to develop sounds good. I want to reiterate that this draft class sucks and lacks star power. So must of these lottery picks are 2nd team guys.

Suns's Needs via ESPN's RPM

11. Spurs: Prospect not selected

Saddiq Bey (Villanova, SF/PF, Sophomore)
Bey has great 3 pt shooting is great, he could be the next Rudy Gay.

Spurs's Needs via ESPN's RPM

12. Kings: Prospect not selected

Aaron Nesmith (Vanderbilt, SF, Sophomore)
Anytime you can add great shooting you should. Nesmith looked good before the injury and he's got value here.

Kings's Needs via ESPN's RPM

13. Pelicans: Prospect not selected

Kira Lewis Jr. (Alabama, PG, Sophomore)
Kira has been on a tear lately. The Pelicans could use a good PG of the future.

14. Blazers: Prospect not selected

RJ Hampton (New Zealand Breakers, SG, 2001)
The Blazers could use a taller combo guard to go with Lliard and McCollum.

15. Magic: Prospect not selected

Tyrese Lacey SG Kentucky
I am not super high on a 6'3" SG that needs to improve his 3 pt shooting but he has some game and is arguably the Best Player Available (BPA).
