This pick is a lock, the Bengals need a franchise QB and Burrow does it all.
While there are rumors the Redskins could take Tua, I don't buy into them as Haskins showed potential at the end of last season. Instead they take Young who is a generational pass rushing talent that would bolster their already talented D-line and propel it to the top ranks of the league.
MOCK TRADE! via Detroit
The Dolphins trade up with Detroit to make sure they can snag the guy they've had their eyes on all year. Tua looks like he could be one of the best QB prospects we've seen in awhile disregarding his health issues. The Dolphins use their immense draft ammunition and secure their QB of the future!
While Isaiah Simmons is tempting here, the Giants opt to protect Daniel Jones. At 6'7, 370 Becton may still be the most athletically gifted O-lineman in the draft. He is a monster-freak and the Giants will be thrilled to have him help out their much struggling O-line.
MOCK TRADE! via Miami
The Lions make a smart decision and trade back 2 spots to take the player they would have at 3 and gain valuable draft capital. Jeff Okudah is the first legitimate lockdown CB prospect we've had since Jalen Ramsey and Detroit's secondary is in dire need of another great DB. This pick tremendously helps a struggling secondary if they keep star CB Darius Slay or not.
Aside from Joe Burrow and Tua being the top 2 QB's in the draft, there is a growing controversy of who is the next best after them, is it Jordan Love or Justin Herbert. The Chargers say Love as they have seen what a raw talent with a big arm can do firsthand with Patrick Mahomes in their division. Love is a perfect pick for a bright future in LA. He will likely sit a year or two before being less raw and ready to ball.
Brown is an absolute disrupter and is actually a steal here at 7. In most drafts, he'd be a top 3 pick no question but the other great talent puts him here at 7 for Carolina. The rebuild under Matt Rhule starts with a cornerstone d-lineman that can be the face of this defense for years to come.
After exploding the combine, the Cardinals rush this pick to the podium as Wirfs has become one of the most sought after prospects in this draft. While receiver is another main target for the Cards, they simply can't pass on the amazing athlete on the O-line that is Wirfs. He can play pretty much any position on the line and his athleticism with Kyler Murray's scrambling ability excites the team.
This may be one of the biggest steals in recent memory. Isaiah Simmons, a hybrid freak athlete who just tore up the combine falling all the way to 9! The Jags defense suddenly has holes everywhere and who better to get to help with that than Simmons who can play all over the defense. The Jags are absolutely THRILLED to get Simmons.
Talk about being thrilled, that's what Cleveland is feeling after there wasn't a crazy run on O-lineman and they can still snag stud RT Jedrick Wills at pick 10. The Browns O-line may have been the reason they fell flat on their faces last season. Fear no more, Wills is a super promising talent that can eventually even be moved over to the left side.
Although the Jets need help on the O-line, the top 3 main stars are gone there so they look to their second pressing need and snag the best route runner I've seen in forever coming out of college. Jerry Jeudy has been a stud throughout his Alabama career and should step right in as the no. 1 target in a starving Jets offense. Sam Darnold gets his guy!
While Justin Herbert could actually go here, the Raiders decide to fill their no. 1 need and that is at wide receiver. CeeDee Lamb was an absolute menace after the catch at Oklahoma and the Raiders hope he can be their DeAndre Hopkins WR1 of the future. I think that is very possible, Lamb is an amazing talent.
The Colts waited it out and get rewarded by a top notch QB still being on the board at 13. Despite up and down tape this season, Herbert still is the ideal QB of the current NFL. Tall, good arm, pocket player. If anyone can turn a raw QB into something great, it's Frank Reich who happens to be the HC in Indianapolis.
The final stud O-lineman goes off the board, and Tampa is glad he was still there. Andrew Thomas didn't live up to his massive hype going into the season, but he still performed pretty well. Thomas has great upside and did play left tackle in the hardest college conference. There is major promise with Thomas and the Bucs have found their left tackle of the future.
The Broncos have a ton of draft picks this year and with their first one they snag the blazing fast (4.2 speed) wideout Ruggs out of Bama to pair with breakout Courtland Sutton. Drew Lock showed lots of potential to end last season and to keep his development moving, they need another top tier target. Ruggs will be a perfect compliment to the improving Denver offense.
The Falcons are in dire need of a pass rusher especially after letting Vic Beasley go already this off-season. Chaisson out of LSU had a really good season and showed his tremendous athleticism off to the world. He's a great pass rusher and will pair with Grady Jarrett as a QB's nightmare in Atlanta.
