2017 NFL Mock Draft APRIL RD 5
Published at 4/26/2017 2:35:52 AM

*4-25-17 UPDATE* WITH TRADES RD2, 3, & 4 ORDER IS RANDOM for trades that usually happen. Used draft-site`s approach as a general guide. Really like their ranking system as it uses a hi-low rubric to rank each player. Took several ranking sites and averaged out player rankings. Used my own rankings for players I feel were ranked much too low. F/A updates with a few players still looking for a new home. Will update as they sign. Will see teams reach for QB & OT. 3 days till drafttime !! No big trades announced yet.

Round 1

Picks 1-16
1. Browns: Myles Garrett, 3-4 Outside Linebacker, Texas A&M

Browns have been saying they will stay @ #1. Had them trading this pick but all the recent reports point to them taking a dominant player. The combine he had was more than was unreal.

2. 49ers: Solomon Thomas, 3-4 Outside Linebacker, Stanford

Niners surprise and go with a great defensive player. They will also look at J. Allen. I don`t see them trading Buckner as he looked outstanding in 2016.

3. Bears: Jonathan Allen, 3-4 Defensive End, Alabama

Bears get a great talent @ #3. Fox goes for DEF -vs- QB. Bears need D-line more.
Past shoulder concerns could see him drop but he was outstanding & even dominant at times. News of him sliding could push him down boards, but I think smokescreen mode is in full effect and have him a top 4 talent.

4. Saints: Malik Hooker, Safety, Ohio State

Saints trade up with Jags. They give up #11 2017 pick, 2018 2nd & M. Ingram. They receive #4 2017 & a conditional pick 2018 as per M. Ingrams performance. ( 4th or 5th )
Saints grab a dynamic FS for a huge RD 1 blockbuster deal.

5. Titans: Marshon Lattimore, Cornerback, Ohio State

Titans take an athletic CB @ #5. Toss-up between him & M. Humphrey.

6. Jets: Derek Barnett, 3-4 Outside Linebacker, Tennessee

Jets get the edge rusher they need. Many are predicting him to be better his rookie season than any other edge rushing prospect. Rated just behind M. Garrett for GREAT value.

7. Chargers: Mike Williams, Wide Receiver, Clemson

Chargers decide to go WR over SS/FS. Looked unstoppable against a very good Alabama defense.

8. Giants: Leonard Fournette, Running Back, LSU

Giants trade up with the Panthers. Perkins & Fournette will be a scary good tandem.
O-line will be addressed in RD 2 & 3. Giants just released R. Jennings. They give up 2017 #23, 2017 RD3, & 2018 RD2.

9. Bengals: Marlon Humphrey, Cornerback, Alabama

Bengals grab a athletic CB in RD1. They need to move on from Pacman "crap he`s in trouble again" Jones. Has played outstanding in big games. Mike Williams will Moss many CB`s so the big game he had over Humphrey won`t hurt his stock too much.

10. Bills: Jamal Adams, Safety, LSU

Bills grab a NFL ready safety. Combine was average but his game tape is outstanding. Had a huge pro-day so he very well could rise into the top 5. Always seemed to in on plays and brings great leadership potential.

11. Jaguars: O.J. Howard, Tight End, Alabama

Jags trade down. Get M. Ingram. Grab maybe the best TE ever. They dumped J. Thomas and replace him with a young road grader for blocking/great speed for catching. Could be the Offensive ROY.

12. Browns: Mitch Trubisky, Quarterback, North Carolina

Browns stay @ #1 & still grab their QB. After combine we should know where teams have the top 4 QB`s ranked. His strong combine has them convinced he is the best QB for them. Local kid has instant fan support. Will take a year to learn behind C.Kessler.

13. Cardinals: Reuben Foster, Inside Linebacker, Alabama

Issues keeping his head straight but a perfect fit. They will coach him up to be a crazy man on the field and a gentleman off. ( one can hope )

14. Eagles: Jabrill Peppers, Safety, Michigan

Eagles grab a athletic safety in RD1. Combine will solidify his spot on NFL boards.
Versatility and a great motor will stand-out come April. Great pick for Philly. Combine he was outstanding. Eagles will welcome his versatility as he fills 3 needs. SS/OLB/KR

Will draft O-line in RD2 & 3.

15. Colts: Dalvin Cook, Running Back, Florida State

Huge steal for the Colts. Great value and talent. Defense and O-line later this draft.

16. Ravens: Haason Reddick, Inside Linebacker, Temple

Ravens grab their OLB/ILB . Fastest rising player on all boards. I see them moving him to ILB. Looked outstanding @ SR bowl. Looked even better at the combine. Possible Defensive ROY.
