Solid Starter

Emmanuel Pregnon, G, Oregon – Round 3

The Jaguars made four selections on the second day of the 2026 NFL Draft, and I think Pregnon is the most likely to turn into a solid NFL starter. Pregnon started out his collegiate career at Wyoming and had two seasons as a backup there. In 2022, he became a starter and allowed two sacks in his debut as a starter. Before the 2023 season, Pregnon transferred to USC and earned a starting spot with the Trojans. He started at left guard for two seasons and did not allow a sack during the 2024 campaign. To finish his collegiate career, Pregnon played with Oregon and started 15 games with the Ducks. He was an effective run blocker while allowing one sack and five pressures during the 2025 season.

Pregnon is a well-balanced blocker that is effective in both phases. In the passing-driven NFL, Pregnon has a good skill set to take on interior rushers. He has the size, strength in his base, and ability to sink his weight to stonewall bull rushers. Pregnon shows a good ability to anchor and withstand a bull rush when blitzers have more space to attack him with speed to power. While Pregnon is not an elite interior athlete, he has the quickness and athleticism to match up against speed rushers. Pregnon could stand to improve his pass protection when he is attacked with counters, but he should turn into a steady and reliable protector as a pro.

In the ground game, Pregnon is a solid contributor. He packs a punch off the ball and looks to blast defenders off the line. He has some punch to create movement and is adept at combo blocks with good leverage to execute bump blocks with his center. Pregnon has quality hand placement and strength to engage defenders. Pregnon has average range and can execute zone blocking or power man plays.

The Jaguars have veteran guards with Ezra Cleveland and Patrick Mekari in place to start in 2026, but in a year or two, I think Pregnon could replace Cleveland. Pregnon is a well-rounded blocker who could be a solid starter for Jacksonville before long.

Most Likely To Bust

Jalen Huskey, S, Maryland – Round 3

The Jaguars made four selections on day three of the draft, and it was not an impressive haul for Jacksonville. They could have little to show for it in terms of starting talent. Huskey looks more like a third safety and backup with special teams ability. As a third-round pick, they are expected to be backups that grow into a starting role, and I think Huskey could fall short of that.

Potential Boom Pick

NONE

The Jaguars were without a first-round pick, and I don’t think any of their day-two or day-three picks have real boom pick potential. I think second-round tight end Nate Boerkircher is a limited receiver and looks like just a backup quality tight end. I think third-round defensive tackle Albert Regis will be a solid rotational backup, but I don’t see boom pick potential with him.

Nate Boerkircher, TE, Texas A&M – Round 2

While I think Boerkircher is a limited receiver and looks like just a backup quality tight end, I do think he could be a solid backup for Jacksonville. Boerkircher and fellow rookie Brenton Strange could turn into solid backups for the Jaguars, but I think they will want a more dynamic receiver as a starter to help Trevor Lawrence in the passing game. Still, Boerkircher is a solid blocker and has some ability to contribute as a receiver. Hence, I think he is going to be a quality No. 2 tight end in the NFL.

A.J. Dybantasa is considered a generational talent like Cooper Flagg, so Adam Silver may have rigged the NBA Draft lottery in favor of a large-market team, especially after what transpired with the ratings in last year’s NBA Finals between the Thunder and Pacers.

Follow @walterfootball for updates.

Also, if you haven’t visited the site in a while, you may have noticed the new look. Yes, after nearly two decades, we’ve finally re-designed our site to be more modern. This was not done on a whim, but rather out of necessity because of what occurred during the 2023 NFL Draft. Our site crashed during the entire first day of the draft, which was disastrous for our revenue stream because we make more money during the draft than any other time. The site crashed because a line of code conflicted with the old format of the site, so we had to transition to this new look.

Because we lost so much money during the draft, I want to point out that you can really help support the site by paying for the ad-free version of it. It’s $7.99 per month, but you’ll get a super-fast site with no ads. My developer will be adding new features to paid subscribers as well, so look for that in the near future. If you don’t want to pay, please spread the word about the site through word of mouth. That would also be a big help!
The Jazz don’t have a need for a guard, but they have to take the best player available in this situation. I’ve seen speculation that the Bullets and the Jazz could swap Nos. 1 and 2 because the opposite prospect would fill a bigger need for the respective teams.

Memphis Grizzlies: Cameron Boozer, PF, Duke

The Grizzlies have a dreadful roster with needs all over the palace, so perhaps they can start over with the son of former NBA player Carlos Boozer.

I’d say the Bulls need help in their front court, but they need help everywhere except for point guard. They can take the best non-point guard available.

The poor Pacers thought they’d have the No. 2 or maybe even the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. Instead, they’re out of a pick entirely because of the asinine Ivica Zubac trade. Well, at least the Pacers have an injury-prone center on their roster.

At any rate, the Clippers have to be thrilled. They get a guard to pair with Darius Garland in their backcourt.

Poor Kings. They closed out the season the right way and didn’t tank, and all they have to show for it is the seventh pick. It just goes to show that nice guys finish last, or at least seventh.

At any rate, Russell Westbrook is a million years old, so the Kings can start over for the 20th time in the past decade with another new point guard.

The Bucks just need to add the best player available to pair with Giannis Antetokounmpo, or really, just the best player on the board because there’s no telling how long the Bucks will keep Antetokounmpo on the roster.

Coleman entered the transfer portal and will play with Texas in 2026. In 2025, Coleman had 56 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns with Auburn. While other freshman receivers got more attention, Coleman (6-3, 197) flashed tremendous ability with size, speed, and athleticism. He caught 37 passes for 598 yards and eight touchdowns in his debut. If Auburn can give Coleman more consistent quarterback play, he could explode as a sophomore or junior.

Sellers completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,437 yards with 13 touchdowns passing, eight interceptions, five rushing, and some yardage on the ground. He has been inconsistent, with some flashes of amazing passes and then missing some completions that he must complete for the NFL. In terms of his development as a football player, he probably should go back to college in 2026, but most players don’t think that way.

Sellers (6-3, 242) has a big-time skill set and could be a special quarterback. In 2024, Sellers completed 66 percent of his passes for 2,534 yards with 18 touchdown passes, seven interceptions, and seven rushing touchdowns. Sellers is a true dual-threat quarterback with dangerous running ability and impressive arm talent. With a cannon for an arm, Sellers can push the ball to all levels of the field with ease. His mobility, athleticism, escapability, and creativity to ad lib his team into a big play are very desirable to pro teams.

Marsh was highly targeted in the transfer portal, and Indiana won the bidding war to add him to their 2026 roster. In 2025, Marsh had 59 receptions for 662 yards with six touchdowns with Michigan State. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound Marsh is very talented and has a ton of upside. In 2024, he caught 41 passes for 649 yards and three touchdowns. He could take off in 2025 or 2026.

It will be interesting to see how things play out with Jalen Hurts in Philadelphia. It would not shock me if the Eagles want to add a quarterback with more natural passing ability.

Mateer completed 62 percent of his passes for 2,885 yards with 14 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, and eight rushing touchdowns. For the NFL, Mateer looks like a starter who could be a very dangerous signal-caller. Mateer (6-1, 224) is an accurate passer with excellent ball placement overall. He has a few throws get away from him, but Mateer has impressive precision as a passer. Mateer is very mobile in the pocket and can hurt defenses on the ground. As a passer, Mateer is similar to Baker Mayfield, but Mateer is a better athlete and more dangerous with his feet.

Mateer played well for Washington State in 2024 and impressed in his first year as a starter. He completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,139 yards with 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Mateer has some mobility and is a gritty competitor. Some team sources have compared Mateer to former Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield. Mateer (6-1, 224) could be a high riser during the 2025 season.

I expected Mark Andrews to have a big year after his embarrassing performance versus the Bills in the prior playoffs, but he was a big disappointment. Isaiah Likely is gone, so Andrews’ outlook is brighter.

T.J. Hockenson suffered in 2025 as a result of poor quarterbacking. He’ll have a chance to rebound.

Oronde Gadsden had a great rookie year, albeit with some mistakes. He’ll likely improve with experience.

Dalton Kincaid had a huge rookie year with 73 receptions, but hasn’t lived up to it because of injuries. We’ve been told that his snaps will be limited this year.

A.J. Barner is coming off a huge second season. He should continue to improve.

Juwan Johnson had a monster season. With Taysom Hill gone, Johnson should continue to perform on a high level.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 72 catches. 850 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 69 catches. 720 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.

Dalton Schultz saw a decline in production prior to last year, but had a big 2025. He could repeat that in 2026.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 65 catches. 690 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.

Kenyon Sadiq is a very athletic tight end who will be a reliable intermediate weapon for Geno Smith.

Denzel Boston is a huge receiver who was a touchdown machine in school. He’ll have to deal with Cleveland’s quarterbacking.

Brian Thomas was seen as a raw receiver with tons of upside heading into his rookie campaign. He was incredible, but was far worse in 2025.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 62 catches. 920 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.

Tre’ Harris’ rookie year began with a disappointing Keenan Allen signing, but Harris made some big plays down the stretch. Allen is now gone.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 61 catches. 820 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.

Marvin Harrison Jr. had a decent season for a rookie, but regressed in his second year. He’s difficult to trust.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 60 catches. 920 receiving yards. 6 total TDs.

Ricky Pearsall showed some amazing potential early in 2025, but suffered an injury. He’s been hurt frequently throughout his career thus far.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 64 catches. 880 receiving yards. 4 total TDs.

Rashid Shaheed was a dynamic deep threat in New Orleans, but never got implemented into the offense in Seattle. I imagine that’ll change next season.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 63 catches. 860 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

Jordyn Tyson is a big receiver who profiles as a No. 1 option, but he has an injury history.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 61 catches. 860 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

            47. De'Zhaun Stribling, WR, 49ers

The 49ers reached for De’Zhaun Stribling, though he’ll have a path to playing time because Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall are so injury-prone. Stribling is a big, strong receiver who can make plays downfield.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 54 catches. 760 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

Jayden Reed played just seven games last year and was never healthy. He should do better in 2026.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 67 catches. 940 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

            49. Makai Lemon, WR, Eagles

Makai Lemon is talented, but has some serious character concerns. He’ll have an opportunity to succeed this year.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 56 catches. 790 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

            50. Malachi Fields, WR, Giants

Malachi Fields is a big receiver and a red zone weapon. He has big-time potential this year with Malik Nabers coming off a torn ACL.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 51 catches. 690 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.
Projected 2026 Fantasy Points: 124.

Jakobi Meyers continues to be a solid producer no matter who his quarterback is. He was a very reliable player for Trevor Lawrence.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 80 catches. 930 receiving yards. 5 total TDs.

Matthew Golden didn’t do much as a rookie. Perhaps he’ll be more involved with experience and Romeo Doubs’ departure.

Chris Bell is a dominant receiver with No. 1 potential. He’s coming off a torn ACL, but appears to be on track to be ready for Week 1.

Garrrett Wilson endured horrible quarterbacking in the first half of the season and was injured in the other half of the season. Geno Smith’s presence isn’t great, but it’ll be better than what the Jets had last year.

Terry McLaurin paid the price for holding out last year. He should rebound in 2026, especially if Jayden Daniels can remain healthy.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 74 catches. 1,020 receiving yards. 9 total TDs.

Mike Evans finally failed to reach 1,000 yards. He played in just eight games, but looked good at times late in the year. He should do well in San Francisco.

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 65 catches. 960 receiving yards. 8 total TDs.

Emeka Egbuka was the favorite to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year in the first half of the season, but he disappeared in the final two months. Mike Evans’ departure should help.

Christian Watson can produce big numbers when he’s on the field, but he’s always injured (of course).

Projected 2026 Fantasy Stats: 91 catches. 980 receiving yards. 7 total TDs.

Courtland Sutton had a decent year, but he was held back by Bo Nix’s mediocrity. He now has to share targets with Jaylen Waddle.

Who would have thought that Michael Wilson would be the Cardinals receiver who would transform into a great weapon? Wilson, not Marvin Harrison Jr., was dominant down the stretch.
