Stephen Sullivan was a steal for the Seahawks in the seventh round. He is big, fast, and athletic with the ability to be a dangerous receiving tight end. So why did he slip to the 7th round in a bad TE class? He has issues learning the playbook so teams dropped him deep into day three. If the Seahawks are patient and get him to be assignment sound, he could be a huge steal.
4/25/2020 6:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
I think Rams wasted a pick on Tremayne Anchrum. After seeing him at the Senior Bowl, I don't think Anchrum has the skill set to play in the NFL. He could use a year on the practice squad.
4/25/2020 6:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
Nate Stanley is a worthy seventh-round pick for the Vikings. They could use more backup QB talent and Stanley has the skill set to play in the NFL. He will benefit learning from Gary Kubiak and could develop into a No.2.
4/25/2020 6:32 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bucs got a nice linebacker backup and special teams player Chapelle Russell. He could make their team as a 7th-rounder.
4/25/2020 6:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Saints traded back into the draft after being out of picks to take QB Tommy Stevens. That's an interesting pick for Sean Payton to make. He obviously wants to work with Stevens and the Saints did not want to risk him getting drafted or losing him in the undrafted free agency portion. It will be interesting to see the plan New Orleans has for Stevens.
4/25/2020 6:29 PM by Charlie Campbell
Dane Jackson could make the Bills as a fifth cornerback. He is a gritty player even though he lacks size and speed. He could end up being a special teams contributor.
4/25/2020 6:21 PM by Charlie Campbell
Casey Toohill was an interesting seventh-round pick for Philadelphia. He was a dangerous pass rusher for Stanford last year and played tough for the Cardinal. Seeing him at East-West Shrine, Toohill needs to gain strength for the NFL. He could use a year on the practice squad but in a year or two this could be a nice payoff for the Eagles.
4/25/2020 6:09 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Steelers pick of Carlos Davis here in the 7th round was a solid pick for the end of the draft. He could make the roster as a backup nose tackle and is a worthy seventh-rounder. A year on the practice squad could benefit Davis.
4/25/2020 5:52 PM by Charlie Campbell
Cole McDonald could make the Titans as a third-string backup, so in the seventh round that's not a bad pick. The Vikings added a nice pick in the 7th with Michigan State edge rusher Kenny Willekes. He could be a good competitor as a situational edge rusher.
4/25/2020 5:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Cardinals add a backup running back in Eno Benjamin. Benjamin does not have the size to be a three down starter. But he showed receiving skill and versatility at Arizona State, so I like this pick to be a backup running back for the Cardinals.
4/25/2020 5:47 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the pick of Stantley Thomas-Oliver by the Panthers. They needed multiple cornerbacks from this draft and Thomas-Oliver was a sleeper that could be a steal. He is a tall corner that has some speed and athleticism. Nice pick by Carolina.
4/25/2020 5:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Chargers made an excellent pick with Ohio State wide receiver K.J. Hill. He could have been a mid-rounder and Hill was a really good player for the Buckeyes. He's a polished route-runner with hands. I think he will make the roster and could end up being a contributor for Los Angeles.
4/25/2020 5:38 PM by Charlie Campbell
Carter Coughlin is a nice pick for the Giants in the seventh round. He provides good value as a backup edge defender. Geno Stone is a worthy late-round pick to give Ravens a backup safety.
4/25/2020 5:36 PM by Charlie Campbell
The 49ers got a big receiver Jauan Jennings. He is a big wide out that is bully on the field. Defenders can struggle with Jennings size and him boxing them out for receptions. I like that pick by San Francisco.
4/25/2020 5:35 PM by Charlie Campbell
Starting the seventh round, Markus Bailey is a nice selection for Cincinnati. Adding more linebacker talent and special teams depth. I did not like Kamren Curl as a mid-rounder like some projected, but the Redskins needed some safety depth so in the 7th round Curl is not a bad pick.
4/25/2020 5:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
Freddie Swain was a good pick Seahawks. I think he could make their team as a speedy slot receiver. Swain might end up being a steal.
4/25/2020 5:22 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Colts selection of Isaiah Rodgers is a backup cornerback and special teams competitor. He might need development on the practice squad. Indianapolis follows it up with receiver depth in Dezmon Patton. He was a productive college player that could end up being a fourth or fifth receiver in the NFL.
4/25/2020 5:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Packers continued to upgrade their offensive line depth with Simon Stepaniak and he could compete at guard or tackle. The Eagles got a potential steal in Auburn OT Prince Tega Wanogho. He slide because of character concerns, but team sources and area scouts say that Wanogho is just as physically talent as tackles like Andrew Thomas and Jedrick Wills. Here's a scouting report on Wanogho: https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020pwanogho.php
4/25/2020 5:06 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Bills pick of wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins. He has some ability to get downfield with athletic upside. He could benefit learning from Stefan Diggs and John Brown. After a year on the practice squad, Hodgins might be ready to compete for Buffalo. The Packers got a nice backup center in Jake Hanson. He was a tough and steady blocker for Oregon over the past few years with a lot of experience. He could be a competent backup for Green Bay.
4/25/2020 5:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Patriots get some backup linebacker help with Caash Maluia. It makes sense for New England to stock that position with competition after their veteran free agent loses. Josh Metellus is a nice depth pick for the Vikings. Metellus was a solid run defender for Michigan but has issues in pass coverage. He will have to make the squad on special teams. The Jaguars needed some tight end depth so Tyler Davis makes sense. LSU tight end Stephen Sullivan is available and a better player, but Sullivan has playbook issues so perhaps that was why they went with Davis instead.

My mistake on Brandel not Brendel.
4/25/2020 4:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
Evan Weaver was a tackling machine for Cal and very productive in college. The Cardinals get a backup run stuffing linebacker, but Weaver has limitations in pass coverage. Hence he slid to the sixth round. The Vikings drafted a backup guard in Blake Brendel. Minnesota has done a nice job of adding offensive linemen in this draft that fit Gary Kubiak's scheme.
4/25/2020 4:45 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Eagles pick of Quez Watkins. He haas some serious speed and it would not surprise me if he is a sleeper steal. Baltimore follows suit with James Proche. He was dangerous weapon at SMU and he could be a contributor for the Ravens as a backup receiver.
4/25/2020 4:37 PM by Charlie Campbell
Pittsburgh added a versatile backup with linebacker/safety Antoine Brooks. He could backup strong safety on run downs and linebacker in pass situations. Brooks has to star on special teams to make the team. Jordan Fuller was a nice late-round pick for the Rams. He was a steady contributor for Ohio State and is a quality run defender. Fuller has limitations in pass coverage for the NFL, but he could be quality backup safety that helps on special teams.
4/25/2020 4:33 PM by Charlie Campbell
Eagles pick of Shaun Bradley provides more linebacker depth, not a bad pick in the sixth round. The Lions followed suit with John @#$@ini. Detroit could use more competition at linebacker but they loaded up on veterans so @#$@ini might need a year on the practice squad before breaking in.
4/25/2020 4:28 PM by Charlie Campbell
Khalil Davis is a worthy late-round pick for the Bucs. He can rotate at nose tackle with Ndamukong Suh and help keep the veteran fresh. The Patriots added Justin Hurron and he could provide some depth at tackle and guard. That's good value for New England in the sixth round.
4/25/2020 4:23 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Packer add more offensive line depth with Jon Runyon Jr. He could be a developmental backup. Robert Windsor was a nice pick by the Colts. He has some talent to be a backup defensive lineman with rotational ability to help keep starters fresh.
4/25/2020 4:18 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jets waste a pick on Texas A&M punter Braden Mann. They could've signed a comparable punter off the street.
4/25/2020 4:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
The 49ers pick of Charlie Woerner is basically picking an undrafted free agent caliber player. Woerner is limited to being just a blocker but he could help in heavy run sets.
4/25/2020 4:12 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jaguars got a nice sleeper quarterback in Jake Luton. The Oregon State product has big size and played really well last year. He could be a good backup for Gardner Minshew and wouldn't surprise me if he pushes Minshew some considering Luton has the better skill set.
4/25/2020 4:07 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a fan of Michigan wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones or the Browns drafting him. He has a good skill set but he never played up to it. I'm not in favor of drafting a kicker so I don't like the Tyler Bass selection by Buffalo. However, the Bills play in a unique environment with windy, cold, snowy conditions late in the season so I give them more of a pass. Bass has a booming leg that can blast the ball through the elements.
4/25/2020 4:05 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Chargers took a nice backup safety in Aloha Gilman. He was a dependable safety for Notre Dame and has some ability. Gilman could be a core special teams player.
4/25/2020 4:03 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Dolphins drafted a long-snapper on Blake Ferguson. I'm not a fan of drafting long-snappers as they can be signed in the undrafted ranks. Bad pick by Miami.
4/25/2020 4:01 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Giants pick of Cam Brown is an okay pick at this point in the draft. He can backup at a few positions and contribute on special teams. I'm not a big fan of Carolina's pick of Bravvion Roy. He's a limited backup nose tackle and I don't see him seeing the field behind Derrick Brown. The Panthers could have drafted a starting tackle of the future with Prince Tega Wanogho or Trey Adams. They both have issues but starting skill sets.
4/25/2020 3:58 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Patriots stick to the OL depth trend with Michigan's Michael Onwenu. He showed some backup ability and has size.
4/25/2020 3:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
This Myron Rolle interview is painful. I appreciate him for his work, but if I wanted to see an interview with a medical professional I could turn on a news network. And now another song? The NFL Draft is supposed to be about football!! ESPN sucks.
4/25/2020 3:52 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bengals took a nice sixth round developmental backup in Hakeem Adeniji. Adeniji is a good athlete but lacks strength. He could benefit from a year in an NFL strength and conditioning program, but Adeniji could end up growing into being a pro contributor. Denver's pick of Netane Muti is similar. Muti is a tough run blocker but he needs to improve in pass pro before seeing the field. He may need a year developing on the practice squad.
4/25/2020 3:47 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Cowboys taking Bradley Anae is an interesting pick. Dallas needed more edge rush and Anae was productive at Utah. He lacks size and speed for the NFL, but perhaps he could overachieve like he did in college and carve out a role as a situational pass rusher.
4/25/2020 3:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
K.J. Osborn is a decent backup receiver candidate that also could compete on special teams for Minnesota. Mike Danna could make stick as a backup defensive lineman for the Chiefs. He had a solid week at the East-West Shrine. Justin Strnad is a nice backup for Denver as he could have gone earlier. He has quality skill set and played well last year. This is a good depth pick for the Broncos.
4/25/2020 3:36 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bears needed some receiver depth so Darnell Mooney makes sense for Chicago. Tennessee grabs a nice rotational interior pass rusher in Larrell Murchison. He got after the quarterback well for N.C. State. He could be a good backup and contributor when he rotates into the game. But Murchison is probably not big enough to be a three down starter. Kamal Martin is a decent backup linebacker for Green Bay. He could be special teams contributor that chips in on defense.
4/25/2020 3:28 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Texans added a speed receiver in Isaiah Coulter. It makes sense for Houston to get him and develop him for a year. Kenny Stills and Will Fuller are in the last year of their contracts. Detroit added a backup running back in Jason Huntley. He will have to make it as a special teams contributor as Huntley won't take carries away from D'Andre Swift or Kerryon Johnson.
4/25/2020 3:24 PM by Charlie Campbell
Last comment on Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm. Obviously, made a big mistake leaving college early. Fromm should have returned to school to improve before going pro. He had a rough stretch as a junior where his accuracy faded and his lack of arm strength became more problematic. Georgia has better receiving talent coming back next year so he would have been better off going there and playing at the Senior Bowl before going pro.
4/25/2020 3:22 PM by Charlie Campbell
Vikings added more cornerback depth with Harrison Hand. Minnesota lost a lot of veterans at the position so it makes sense to build up the competition with the Temple product The Baltimore Ravens took some defensive line depth with Broderick Washington. He has a skill set to develop and could be a good project for Baltimore.
4/25/2020 3:15 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Eagles got a nice value with Boise State wide receiver John Hightower. He is a fast receiver but had some medical concerns. If he stays healthy this could be a steal for Philly.
4/25/2020 3:12 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Bills pick of Jake Fromm in the fifth round. Fromm could be a good backup for Josh Allen. A key to being a good backup is being smart player that can execute without a lot of practice reps. Fromm is intelligent and hard working so I think he will be a nice backup for Buffalo. The only flaw, is Fromm's lack of arm strength is a huge drop off from Josh Allen. So if Fromm comes in the game they will need to adjust the offense for some shorter routes with quick passing that has the ball getting out early on shorter drops. Overall though this is a solid selection by the Bills.
4/25/2020 3:10 PM by Charlie Campbell
Scouting Report on Buffalo Bills quarterback Jake Fromm https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020jfromm.php
4/25/2020 3:05 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Lions got a decent depth receiver in Quintez Cephus. He produced some big plays for Wisconsin but a slow combine 40 hurt him.
4/25/2020 3:03 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a fan of the Jaguars pick of Collin Johnson. He is a big receiver that runs pretty well, but he plays much smaller. Johnson should be a bully and push defenders around as he is about 6-5, 220, but he plays finesse. I think in the NFL he is going to pass the eyeball test but defenders will out compete him.
4/25/2020 3:01 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Dolphins grab a situational edge rusher in Curtis Weaver. The media had overhyped him but I had him as a mid-rounder because I knew teams had concerns about him translating for the NFL. Weaver has limitations in size and speed, but he is a try hard player that overachieves.
4/25/2020 3:00 PM by Charlie Campbell
Chicago's pick of Kindle Vildor has a quality skill set to develop. The Bears needed cornerback depth and competition so this pick makes sense for Chicago.
4/25/2020 2:58 PM by Charlie Campbell
Washington got a good depth linebacker/safety in Khaleke Hudson. Hudson could play strong safety in run sets and linebacker in the nickel. He also could be a core special teams player. Solid pick for the Redskins.
4/25/2020 2:54 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bucs got a steal in Minnesota wide receiver Tyler Johnson. He is a gritty receiver that is very polished with route running, hands, and a knack for big plays. Johnson is physical and really competes. He should be a good backup for Evans and Godwin.
4/25/2020 2:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Browns pick of Washington center Nick Harris. He is really tough and physical at the point of attack. He is undersized for the NFL, but he could end up working his way into a starting role in a zone scheme, which is what the Browns happen to run. Hence, I like this selection by Cleveland.
4/25/2020 2:51 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Patriots drafted kicker Justin Rohrwasser. I'm not a fan of drafting kickers and punters as you can sign quality ones off the street. This seems too high for me as there were some good players available for New England like Auburn OT Prince Tega Wanogho, Minnesota WR Tyler Johnson, Southern Miss WR Quez Watkins, and more
4/25/2020 2:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
Bryce Hall had a bigger reputation than his play so I'm not surprised he slid to the fifth round. Hall is stiff and struggles to turn and run (see Florida State tape from last year). He could be a candidate to move to safety as Hall is tough and physical.
4/25/2020 2:47 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jaguars pick of safety Daniel Thomas is a possible backup safety and special teams player. I'm not sure he has the instincts for special teams but the Jaguars needed more competition at safety.
4/25/2020 2:46 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Redskins get a decent depth pick with center Keith Ismael. Perhaps he develops but I think he could be a solid backup.
4/25/2020 2:46 PM by Charlie Campbell
Trevis Gipson is a decent depth pick for the Bears. He provides Chicago with a rotational rusher to keep Robert Quinn fresh and Gipson has some upside to develop.
4/25/2020 2:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Dolphins continued their wise decisions with Jason Strowbridge here in the fifth round. He is tough at the point of attack and has some upside as a rusher with quickness and strength. Some teams had Strowbridge in contention for the fifth round, so this is a great value for Miami.
4/25/2020 2:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
The 49ers traded Matt Breida to Miami for a fifth-round pick. Good trade for the Dolphins as Breida is a dangerous back with speed. I think he could be a good value for Miami. San Francisco took Colton McKivitz and that makes sense as some tackle depth behind Trent Williams. Williams has had health issues so it makes sense to make sure you have a backup you like for the 49ers.
4/25/2020 2:41 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a big fan of the Panthers pick of Kenny Robinson. I think he has some limitations in coverage for the NFL. But he is more of an unknown with XFL tape versus having tape in power 5 college play, so I definitely could be selling him short.
4/25/2020 2:36 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Chargers grab a dangerous returner in Joe Reed. He has real speed and could instantly upgrade the Los Angeles special teams unit.
4/25/2020 2:22 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Colts get a decent interior backup in Danny Pinter, the guard from Ball State. He is could provide some nice depth for Indianapolis. The Giants got an excellent value in Oregon guard Shane Lemieux. He is mean as a snake at the point of attack and he was very consistent for Oregon. I think he was undervalued in the draft process and I knew some area scouts that really liked him.
4/25/2020 2:19 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Seahawks pick of Alton Robinson is not a shock. They needed more edge talent and Robinson is gifted but he has massive character concerns.
4/25/2020 2:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
Cincinnati Bengals pick of Khalid Kareem to lead off the fifth round is a decent pick. Kareem has some edge rush ability with a skill set to develop. He didn't play up to it all the time, but the talent to be a better player is there.
4/25/2020 2:14 PM by Charlie Campbell
Jack Driscoll was a solid pick for the Eagles to give them some tackle depth. With Jason Peters moving on, Philadelphia pushes Andre Dillard into a starting role and Driscoll can fill in as the swing tackle backup behind Lane Johnson and Dillard. The second pick by Philadelphia to close out the fourth round was traded to Dallas. The Cowboys got a steal in Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz. He was a good starter for the Badgers and I think he could develop into a solid pro. https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020tbiadasz.php
4/25/2020 2:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
Ben Bredeson is a solid backup guard for the Ravens. He was a tough blocker for Michigan. The Seahawks needed some RB depth with their two top backs coming off injuries that can linger into next year. DeeJay Dallas was a tough runner at Miami and has some pop. He could be a nice rotational back for Seattle.
4/25/2020 1:59 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Redskins got a steal in Antonio Gandy-Golden. He is a massive receiver that is physical, runs good rotes, and has quality hands. He played well at the Senior Bowl and Gandy-Golden could form a nice trio with Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.
4/25/2020 1:57 PM by Charlie Campbell
Shaq Quarterman is a backup linebacker for the Jaguars. He started out hot before being a solid but not special starter for Miami. Quarterman needs to help on special teams. The Texans pick of John Reid should provide some depth for their secondary. It might be difficult for Reid to make the team though with Roby, Hargreaves, Conley, and Lonnie Johnson locked in. That means there's only one roster spot left, so Reid will be in store for a tough fight.
4/25/2020 1:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
L'Jarius Snead is a sleeper cornerback that could be a steal for the Chiefs. He has a good skill set but needs to develop more consistent technique. He could be a fourth or fifth corner that develops into a bigger role. Similarly, Amik Robertson is a fourth or fifth corner for the Raiders that could develop into more. Robertson has a nice skill set for Las Vegas to work with.
4/25/2020 1:45 PM by Charlie Campbell
Josiah Scott gives the Jaguars a potential backup cornerback. I wasn't a big fan of Scott but he could be a fourth or fifth corner that contributes on special teams.
4/25/2020 1:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Steelers always seem to need offensive line depth so taking Kevin Dotson makes some sense. Pittsburgh does a solid job of coaching up their backups and Dotson could continue that trend. Brycen Hopkins provides some quality depth for the Rams at tight end. He probably can't develop into a three down starter because of blocking NFL edge defenders, but Hopkins could be a decent backup.
4/25/2020 1:35 PM by Charlie Campbell
This music is terrible and it makes no sense as to why this is being included in the draft.
4/25/2020 1:34 PM by Charlie Campbell
I don't like the Falcons pick of Jaylinn Hawkins. I thought he would be a late-round or undrafted player. Obviously Atlanta valued him higher than that, but he looked limited to play in the NFL when watching Cal.
4/25/2020 1:33 PM by Charlie Campbell
Colby Parkinson is a big tight end that could serve as a No.2 or 3 backup. He has good size and is a red zone mismatch so he should be a quality weapon for the Seahawks when get close to pay dirt.
4/25/2020 1:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Vikings selection of Oregon linebacker Troy Dye provides Minnesota with some linebacker depth that can also help on special teams. Dye was a solid linebacker for the Ducks but he his skill set makes him more of a backup in the NFL.
4/25/2020 1:29 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jets get some quality offensive line depth with Cameron Clark. Clark could help backup guard or right tackle for New York and this continues to improve their blocking front with quality depth that has starting potential. The Vikings pick of James Lynch is interesting. He is a tweener end/tackle that could play end on run downs and move inside to rush in passing situations.
4/25/2020 1:22 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Eagles pick of K'Von Wallace is a solid selection for a backup safety and special teams contributor. The Bills get Gabriel Davis and that is a pick I had mocked on day two for a lot of the past two months. Davis gives Buffalo a big receiver to go with their speed receivers. Davis could be valuable in the red zone.
4/25/2020 1:11 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Texans grab some tackle depth with Charlie Heck. He's a big body that needs work for taking on speed rushers. Heck could be a swing tackle backup for Houston.
4/25/2020 1:11 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Texans grab some tackle depth with Charlie Heck. He's a big body that needs work for taking on speed rushers. Heck could be a swing tackle backup for Houston.
4/25/2020 1:07 PM by Charlie Campbell
I had the Jets taking James Morgan in my final mock draft and knew New York loved him. He is very smart and has a good arm. Morgan could be a quality backup behind Sam Darnold.
4/25/2020 1:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Steelers pick of Anthony McFarland is interesting. Pittsburgh could use another option given the injuries to James Connor. McFarland provides some speed as a backup to rotate with the power of Bennie Snell and the receiving ability of Jaylen Samuels.
4/25/2020 1:00 PM by Charlie Campbell
Reggie Robinson continues the great draft of the Cowboys. He is big, fast, and has cover skills. The only reason why he was mid-rounder was going under the radar at Tulsa. If Robinson had played at a big school he probably would have gone in the second round.
4/25/2020 12:59 PM by Charlie Campbell
Eason landed in a good spot to develop with Frank Reich. The big armed Eason is inconsistent but he has a starter skill set with size and accuracy when given time. Eason could be a solid third string QB behind Philip Rivers and Jacoby Brissett.
4/25/2020 12:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
Scouting Report on Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacob Eason https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020jeason.php
4/25/2020 12:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Lions add some interior offensive line depth with Logan Stenberg. He is a big blocker that is a nasty, physical fighter in the ground game. He has issues with penalties and in pass protection, so he should be groomed as a backup.
4/25/2020 12:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jets made a nice pick with Florida RB Lamical Perine. New York gets a good backup running back as Perine was a really tough runner for the Gators with clutch plays. A bad OL hurt him as a senior, but he contributed well las a receiver. In his junior year he ran really well with a more experienced line. Perine is a pure football player that finds a way to be effective as a runner, receiver, and is a good pass protector.
4/25/2020 12:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
I missed D.J. Wonnum pick. He is a nice situational pass rusher and he could develop into a nice selection that contributes. Mykal Walker was a solid backup linebacker for Atlanta. He could backup at inside and outside, so that is a nice selection for the Falcons to have some depth behind their undersized starters.
4/25/2020 12:41 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Broncos get another weapon for Drew Lock with Missouri tight end Albert Okwuegbunam. Albert O is a phenomenal receiver down the seam with excellent speed and size. His skill set is first or second round caliber, but his personal make up caused him to slide. If he becomes a pro, this could be a massive steal for Denver.
4/25/2020 12:38 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Cardinals pick of Leki Fotu is run stuffing nose tackle. He is limited as a pass rusher so he will probably get pulled in passing situations. Harrison Bryant is a day three tight end. He could contribute as a receiver, but he will need work as a blocker. Ben Bartch gives the Jaguars some depth on the offensive line. Bartch has good size with athleticism to develop into a potential starter in a year or two.

The Chargers got a good backup and rotational running back in Joshua Kelley. He is a tough runner with power and quickness. The Panthers pick of Troy Pride was a nice selection. He has size and speed, but he needs to get more consistent in coverage. If Pride develops more consistent technique coverage he could be a steal.
4/25/2020 12:25 PM by Charlie Campbell
Holmes is a nice depth defensive back for the Giants as he provides depth at safety and cornerback. Solomon Kindley was a steal for the Dolphins. If he loses some weight he could be an excellent guard for Miami. He is strong in the run game and steady in pass protection. The weight concerns really hurt Kindley

Per sources, the Carolina Panthers took Notre Dame cornerback Troy Price.
4/25/2020 12:22 PM by Charlie Campbell
Washington needed some tackle help with Trent Williams being traded to San Francisco. Saahdiq Charles could come in and compete quickly after his trial by fire in the SEC. John Simpson makes sense as the Raiders needed some interior offensive line depth. Richie Incgognito is aging and Gabe Jackson's contract could prove too price for his level of play.
4/25/2020 12:13 PM by Charlie Campbell
Akeem Davis-Gaither makes sense as a solid pick for Cincinnati to lead off day three. The Bengals needed linebacker help entering the draft and Davis-Gaither is a nice addition to go with Logan Wilson.

Trautman could have gone in the second round and some teams had him as their second tight end. He is a just a pure football player with good route running, hands, size, and versatility. This was an excellent pick for the Saints and Trautman could be a weapon in their offense.

4/24/2020 11:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
Terrell Burgess was a sleeper safety that some team sources liked. He is a coverage safety that can play downfield. Burgess also has the ability to be a nickel corner. This was a solid pick by the Rams.
4/24/2020 11:54 PM by Charlie Campbell
Davion Taylor is a fast linebacker that flies all over the field. Once he gains strength he could become a three down starter for the Eagles.
4/24/2020 11:52 PM by Charlie Campbell
Alex Highsmith is a rotational edge rusher that could offer some depth behind TJ Watt and Bud Dupree. Highsmith is quick off the ball and he can turn the corner. For the NFL he needs to add some strength to get off blocks, and that should happen when he spends some time in a pro strength and conditioning program.
4/24/2020 11:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
Dalton Keene is receiving tight end that has some speed. He can be an H-back tight end and used in a variety of games.
4/24/2020 11:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
I don't like the Tanner Muse pick by the Raiders. He had some ugly tape and had problems in coverage. He was a workout warrior, but I think Muse will top out as a special teams player only.
4/24/2020 11:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Malik Harrison pick by the Ravens. With Harrison and Queen, Baltimore has added two tough inside linebackers that can really fortify the middle of their defense. I really like the Matt Peart pick by the Giants. He has real size with some athleticism and quickness. He needs development, but he could be a starting right tackle. The Giants could come out of this draft with their bookend tackles of Peart and first-rounder Andrew Thomas as their franchise left tackle.
4/24/2020 11:36 PM by Charlie Campbell
Jacob Phillips is a solid run defender for LSU, but the Browns will have to develop his pass coverage skills before he can play in the NFL.
4/24/2020 11:29 PM by Charlie Campbell
Arkansas DL McTelvin Agim to Denver and TCU OT Lucas Niang to the Chiefs. Good depth for each team up front.
4/24/2020 11:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
Josiah Deguara is an average third-round pick for the Packers. He is a receiving tight end to replace Jimmy Graham, but Deguara is too undersized to be a three down starter. There were other tight ends available I liked more.
4/24/2020 11:21 PM by Charlie Campbell
Per sources the Titans are taking Appalachian State running back Darrynton Evans. He is a quick back that will offer some good depth behind Derrick Henry.
4/24/2020 11:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
Some teams had Devin Duvernay graded late on day three. Duvernay has game breaking speed, but he is tight and straight line. Still the Ravens add more speed to their offense and Baltimore's fast offense is going to drive defenses crazy.
4/24/2020 11:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
Just looked up and saw that I had the Bills taking Zack Moss in round two of my final mock. Even a better value getting him in the third for Buffalo.

Devin Asiasi is a quality receiving threat tight end that could compete for quick playing time for the Patriots. However with other quality tight ends available like Adam Trautman and Albert Okwuegbunam, I'm not sure New England needed to trade up with the Raiders.

What a shock, the Patriots take an Alabama and Nick Saban player. Anfernee Jennings is versatile to be a tough run defender and rush off the edge. Jennings could be a replacement for Jamie Collins with Josh Uche taking the spot of Kyle Van Noy. This is a solid draft for New England.
4/24/2020 10:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
Moss is a powerful runner with some quickness and receiving ability. He slid in the draft because of medical concerns but he was durable at Utah. I think he could form a superb one-two punch with Devin Singletary.

Wow back-to-back wide receivers for the Raiders with Bryan Edwards. Edwards is another sleeper that could be a steal. He was a tough receiver showing route-running, quickness, and a physical gritty play. Las Vegas really changed their receiving corps with Ruggs, Bowden, and Edwards. With Tyrell Williams and Hunter Renfroe, they have a talented five man group.
4/24/2020 10:35 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Raiders got a potential steal in Kentucky wide receiver Lynn Bowden. He showed his speed, toughness, and natural ability as a player. Bowden dominated the SEC as a rushing QB, and Bowden was forced into that role because of injuries. Nice pick by Las Vegas.
4/24/2020 10:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jets pick of Jabari Zuniga could be a sleeper value pick. He is fast and athletic off the ball with some natural pass rush ability. He might lack the size to be an every down starter, but he could be a good rotational pass rusher.
4/24/2020 10:26 PM by Charlie Campbell
Falcons pick of center Matt Hennessy is a decent third-round pick. He is quick and athletic, however he has a serious lack of strength. Hennessy needs developmental time in a strength and conditioning program before being ready to play.
4/24/2020 10:23 PM by Charlie Campbell
Broncos pick of Iowa cornerback Michael Ojemudia. He has good length, size, and speed. However he was inconsistent in coverage at times. His combine really helped him, but he could be a solid developmental backup corner for Denver.
4/24/2020 10:18 PM by Charlie Campbell
Ke'Shawn Vaughn is a tough runner and he is a force coming downhill. Vaughn went under the radar because he played for Vanderbilt, but he could be a nice sleeper pick for the Bucs.
4/24/2020 10:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a big fan of the Jonah Jackson pick by Detroit. There were better guards available like Shane Lemieux and Solomon Kindley in my opinion. Obviously Detroit prefers Jackson, but I don't see why they needed to trade up for Jackson.
4/24/2020 10:13 PM by Charlie Campbell
Baun is an excellent pick for the Saints as he could have gone early in the second round. He was a dangerous edge rusher, good in coverage, and a tough run defender. New Orleans got an excellent value with Baun in the third round.

The Jaguars selection of DaVon Hamilton was okay. He had a quality Senior Bowl week and was tough with some quickness. In the NFL, I think he could develop into a decent starter but won't be anything special.
4/24/2020 10:03 PM by Charlie Campbell
Josh Jones was nice third-round pick for Arizona. He lost strength when he dropped a lot of weight before his senior year. But Jones could be a starting right tackle. Scouting Report on Arizona Cardinals OT Josh Jones. https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020jjones.php

The Seahawks selection of Damien Lewis is understandable. He is a tough run blocker but he lacks height and length. Miami's pick of Brandon Jones doesn't make sense to me. Other teams had him graded deep into day three. He had a lot of problems in coverage last year.
4/24/2020 9:51 PM by Charlie Campbell
Scouting Report on New York Jets safety Ashtyn Davis. Fast and athletic, but terrible missed tackles and a criminal lack of physicality. https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020adavis.php
4/24/2020 9:48 PM by Charlie Campbell
Julian Okwara was a nice pick for the Lions in the third round as they needed more edge rush. Okwara has size, speed, and some athleticism. However he had a ton of missed tackles. If they can develop him, he could be a good rusher opposite Trey Flowers.
4/24/2020 9:46 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Redskins pick of Memphis WR Antonio Gibson gives the Redskins a speed receiver and a weapon that can also line up as a running back. Gibson could continue the recent Washington tradition of a good third round receiver after taking Terry McLaurin last year.

Logan Wilson was a solid linebacker, but I think this is a reach. Wisconsin linebacker Zack Baun is better and more versatile. I'm not a fan of this pick.
4/24/2020 9:40 PM by Charlie Campbell
One other note about the Panthers trio. They all were said to be very good in character. Coaches raved about Gross-Matos at Penn State and Chinn was a star of the interviews at the Senior Bowl. This trio will help establish a new culture under Matt Rhule.
4/24/2020 9:37 PM by Charlie Campbell
Some teams had Chinn as a potential first-rounder, and Carolina needed a replacement for Eric Reid. Between Derrick Brown, Yetur Gross-Matos, and Chinn the Panthers run defense should be significantly improved next year.
4/24/2020 9:32 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Panthers traded up to take Southern Illinois safety Jeremy Chinn. I think this is an okay pick. Chinn fills a need for a strong safety in Carolina, but I think better players were available like cornerback Cameron Dantzler and linebacker Zack Baun. Here's a scouting report on Chinn. https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020jchinn.php
4/24/2020 9:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Chiefs selection of linebacker Willie Gay makes sense as they were thin in the middle of the defense. Gay gives them speed and athleticism. He has a lot of upside.

I don't like the Dillon pick for the Packers. Aaron Jones is a good back and they can get a rotational backup later in the draft. Green Bay need wide receiver help and OL help. I had the Titans taking Fulton in the first round of my final 2020 NFL Mock Draft. I felt he was a good scheme fit in Tennessee and filled a need. He can play on the outside and is reliable to prevent separation. However he has some issues with size and finishing plays. Thus, he slipped to round two. Many teams had him graded in the second.

Per sources the New England Patriots traded up with the Baltimore Ravens and are taking Michigan edge rusher Josh Uche. Uche is a good fit to replace Jamie Collins/Kyle Van Noy in the Patriots scheme. Uche is reunited with former Wolverines pass rusher Chase Winovich, so now they will hunt NFL QBs together

Scouting Report on New York Jets WR Denzel Mims. Some teams had Mims graded on day three. Others had him in the mid-rounds, and some in the second round. No team told me a 1st round grade on Mims. The media overhyped him from the combine 40. https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020dmims.php
4/24/2020 9:06 PM by Charlie Campbell
Sources say the Minnesota Vikings have taken Boise State OT Ezra Cleveland. Teams view that as a reach. Many teams had him graded in the fourth round due to a serious lack of strength, but his speed fits the Vikings zone blocking scheme.
4/24/2020 9:00 PM by Charlie Campbell
Sources say Rams take Florida WR Van Jefferson. This is a bit high for him. He is a polished wide out that is the son of a NFL wide receivers coach. Van is a good route runner, has steady hands, and is a pure football player. I thought he would be a third- or fourth-rounder.
4/24/2020 8:59 PM by Charlie Campbell
Davis is a powerful run stuffer and he is a force at the point of attack. Davis has a tremendous lateral anchor and you can't move him in the ground game. He is not a great pass rusher, but he is versatile to be a nose tackle or five technique. Davis will be a two down run stuffer in the NFL.

Dobbins is a great fit in the Ravens offense. With his speed and acceleration, Dobbins fits in well with Lamar Jackson and Marquise Brown. Dobbins could be the understudy to keep Mark Ingram fresh and then Dobbins could take over as the starter in a year or two.

Teams graded Epenesa in the second round, but I think he was a solid pick for Buffalo.
4/24/2020 8:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
The NFL is a sport with professional announcers all over the league, yet Roger Goodell announces the picks. Makes no sense. Goodell's jokes go over like a lead ballon and he has the personality of cardboard.
4/24/2020 8:46 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Buffalo Bills have done a great job of build a tough hard nosed team under this regime. They have a great scouting staff and Epenesa continues their good value selections. Epenesa is a tough edge setter that can contribute some pass rush. He has stiffness and lacks elite speed, but he could be a good left end to take on right tackles.

I just realized I had Cam Akers to the Rams in my final mock. From my redraft this morning I had Akers to the Rams and Gross-Matos to the Panthers.
4/24/2020 8:40 PM by Charlie Campbell
Akers was my top Day 2 value pick for the 2020 Draft and I think the Rams made a great selection. Akers is a tough runner with speed, size, vision, and great feet. He is a good receiver and could be a tremendous weapon in Sean McVay's offense.

I was not a fan of Hurts as a QB for the NFL. He struggles to see the field and he had a lot of problems being a consistent passer during his collage career. Perhaps the Eagles coaching staff can make him more consistent, and given durability issues with Carson Wentz, I can understand why the Eagles would want to address backup quarterback. However I think Philadelphia should have taken another receiver or a cornerback like Cameron Dantzler.

4/24/2020 8:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Cowboys are having a great draft. CeeDee Lamb was a top 12 talent and Diggs was a first-round talent that some teams had as their third corner. Diggs has some things to clean up, but he is big and fast. He has the potential to be a No.1 corner in the NFL.

I thought the Steelers would take a weapon for their offense with this pick but I thought it would be a running back. Instead Claypool gives them a big wide out that is a mismatch weapon to go across from JuJu Smith-Schuster.

Seattle needed an edge rusher to help replace Jadeveon Clowney and Taylor is a good scheme fit. The Seahawks defense allowed a lot of yards and points last year so they're making it a point to bring some youth to their front seven.
4/24/2020 8:19 PM by Charlie Campbell
Sources say the Seahawks traded up with the Jets to take Tennessee edge rusher Darrell Taylor.
4/24/2020 8:15 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not sure about the Davidson fit by Atlanta. He is a tweener tackle/end after gaining a lot of weight. He could be a base end on run downs that kicks inside in passing situations.

Winfield is an instinctive safety with speed. He was a real ballhawk for Minnesota. However at 5-9 there is a major height issue and Winfield is going to have issues with receivers making catches over him.
4/24/2020 8:09 PM by Charlie Campbell
Sources say the Broncos took Penn State wide receiver K.J. Hamler. I like this pick for Denver. He gives them a speed slot receiver to go with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Noah Fant. Drew Lock now has some great receiving weapons to go along with the two-headed monster at running back.
4/24/2020 8:03 PM by Charlie Campbell
Delpit had a disappointing junior season and a lot of missed tackles. He has issues getting pushed around by tight ends in coverage and is not a natural free safety. Delpit needs to fill out his frame to be a strong safety in the NFL. I'm not a big fan of this pick by the Browns. I could see Delpit being a liability against Baltimore's dynamic rushing attack.

Shenault is a nice player, but the Jaguars take another character risk. Considering they have mishandled Jalen Ramsey, Yannick Ngakoue, and Leonard Fournette, this seems like a dangerous fit for Jacksonville.
4/24/2020 7:52 PM by Charlie Campbell
Shenault could be a steal for the Jaguars as he is a talented receiver. He is big and physical. However he slid because of durability issues and Shenault has character issues that resulted in some bad combine interviews that hurt his draft stock.

I think Gross-Matos is a great pick for the Panthers. He will be a bookend edge rusher to go with Brian Burns and Derrick Brown causing disruption from the inside. Swift is an interesting pick for Detroit. Kerryon Johnson has had a hard time staying healthy so now the Lions have depth in their running game. Swift is an explosive back and is a tough runner. The Colts needed a big receiver to go with T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell. Pittman gives them a red zone weapon and a size mismatch to go with the speed of Hilton and Campbell. I think Pittman belonged in the late second or early third, but I think this is a solid selection for Indianapolis.
4/24/2020 7:19 PM by Charlie Campbell
Higgins was a nice pick for Cincinnati. He gives them a red zone weapon and a long-term weapon for Joe Burrow. After A.J. Green is done, Higgins and Tyler Boyd could be a nice tandem.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire is a good fit in the Kansas City offense. He can fill that Brian Westbrook role for Andy Reid as Edwards-Helaire is an excellent receiver and a slashing runner. He could be dynamic weapon for the Chiefs.

I don't like the Gladney pick by the Vikings. Some teams had him graded in the third round. He is an undersized corner and struggles with receivers making catches over him. I think that is going to be a big problem for him in the NFL and especially in the divisional games against the big wide outs like Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, and Kenny Golladay.

I like Igbinoghene as a player. He has real talent as a cover corner to run the route and prevent separation. He has lot of upside to develop into a good pro corner. I don't understand though using a first-round pick when they just paid Byron Jones and Xavien Howard.

Wilson makes sense for Tennessee as they needed a right tackle to replace Jack Conklin. Wilson will help open holes for Derrick Henry and he has a ton of upside to develop into a really good NFL offensive tackle.

4/23/2020 11:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
Queen was a nice pick by the Ravens as they needed more inside linebacker talent. He is a heat seeking missile that flies around the field and is very disruptive. He could extend the tradition of great linebacker play in Baltimore.

Like most Seahawks picks, Brooks was a reach in the first round. He is a big linebacker that can run, but his instincts are barely above average. I'm surprised Seattle took Brooks over Patrick Queen.

I had the Packers taking Jordan Love in the second round. Green Bay wasted picks to move up for Love as Seattle and Baltimore weren't going to take him.
4/23/2020 11:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
This could be the worst pick of the first round. Jordan Love does little to nothing to help the Packers win a Super Bowl before Aaron Rodgers is done. Maybe if Rodgers gets injured and misses a month Love keeps the ship afloat. But the Packers had needs at linebacker (Patrick Queen), wide receiver (Tee Higgins), and offensive tackle (Josh Jones) with quality prospects available. I think this was a bad pick and it would not surprise me if Love is a bust.

While John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan have had some good moves in San Francisco. They also blew the third-overall pick on Solomon Thomas and then another first-round pick on Reuben Foster. Other picks like Dante Pettis are questionable, so I'm not convinced that the Aiyuk pick won't end up being in that category.
4/23/2020 11:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a big fan of the Brandon Aiyuk pick by the 49ers. Some teams had Aiyuk graded in the third round and others had him in round two. Aiyuk is shorter, thick, and quick receiver that is similar to Deebo Samuel. However I think the 49ers should have added a different type of receiver to give defenses more variety in the mismatches they employ.

This was a reach by the Saints. They took Erik McCoy a year ago in the second round, so they wanted to bolster the trenches. However one of McCoy or Ruiz will have to play guard and that is an undersized guard for the NFL.

I loved Kenneth Murray and had him as one of the top 15 players in this draft. Murray could be a stud linebacker behind Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram. Murray is an awesome run defender, good pass rusher, and can cover. He's like a young Thomas Davis and this was an excellent move by Tom Telesco.

The Vikings needed another receiver across from Adam Thielen after trading Stefon Diggs. Jefferson is a competitive receiver that has a nice mix of size and speed. A few years ago I thought Laquon Treadwell had bust potential and that was the case for Minnesota, but this pick I feel better about as I think Jefferson could be a solid No.2 receiver in the NFL.

The Jaguars were very dumb to turn down the 19th pick for Yannick Ngakoue. Getting a top 20 selection for a player that is causing problems in the locker room is a no brainer. But keep in mind Dave Caldwell drafted Luke Joeckel, Blake Bortles, and Dante Fowler in the top 3.

The Falcons were weak at cornerback so I can understand the pick, but A.J. Terrell was a late first-rounder at best. Some teams had him graded well into the second round on their board. This is the first pick that I really don't like. Terrell needs a lot of work and he's just a size and speed athlete. LSU abused him in the National Championship game. I think general manager Thomas Dimitroff blew it by not trading up for C.J. Henderson or Javon Kinlaw. Those two are much better players than Terrell.

Kinlaw makes sense for the 49ers because they traded away DeForest Buckner. Kinlaw will be dangerous next to Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead. Kinlaw is a tough run defender and an interior pass rusher. San Francisco is wise to continue stocking their defensive line with talent.

When the Giants passed on Wirfs he went for a real fall and lost a lot of money dropping from 4 to 13.
4/23/2020 9:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
Wirfs has some issues with speed rushers (see Michigan game with Josh Uche), but he as a great skill set with a ton of talent. Wirfs has some things he needs to clean up to be more consistent, but he has all the physical ability to be an excellent offensive tackle.
4/23/2020 9:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
Wirfs is a good pick for the Bucs as he can stay at right tackle and upgrade the protection for Tom Brady. Tampa Bay was probably concerned that the Dolphins would trade up from 18 or another team would move up with the 49ers. Wirfs was the last of the top four offensive tackles.

Ruggs really ups the talent of the Raiders offense. With tight end Darren Waller and receiver Tyrell Williams, Derek Carr has much better weapons now.

Becton makes sense as a bookend to go with George Fant to protect the edge for Sam Darnold. Becton is a giant with a freaky ability of size and speed in such a massive blocker. He has a ton of upside and this was a good pick for the Jets. For weeks I've been writing that the Jets preferred an OT in the first round and that's what New York did.

Henderson gives the Jaguars a No.1 corner to replace Jalen Ramsey. Henderson is a quiet kid so that could appeal to Jacksonville after dealing with the issues they've had with Ramsey, Yannick Ngakoue, and Leonard Fournette. But those problems stem more from Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin than the players.

Derrick Brown is a steal for the Panthers at No.7. Around the league he was the consensus second best player in the draft to Chase Young. Brown is a dominant run stuffer that can collapse the pocket in the pass rush. He is a violent defender, a bully, and can take a game over. He is very similar to Ndamukong Suh.

If Tua had been healthy, he may have been the top pick over Joe Burrow. A bunch of Southeast scouts told me that Tagovailoa made more big time throws in college than Burrow did. Keep in mind that Okudah had an easy schedule of receivers last year. The best receiver he faced was Penn State's K.J. Hamler. So he is going to see a big jump when he takes on the likes of division rivals with Davante Adams, Allen Robinson, and Adam Thielen.
4/23/2020 8:45 PM by Charlie Campbell
Okudah makes sense as a plug-and-play starter for Detroit. He will team up with Desmond Trufant and in the long run Okudah will be their No.1. I like having Trufant there so Okudah can ease into the league against No.2 receivers and by the end of his rookie year he could be taking the No.1s. That will help his development and not overwhelm him with the big jump in competition.

I was always skeptical of the Lions being able to trade down. There really wasn't a need for Miami or the Chargers to move up unless they wanted the same quarterback. Otherwise, why give a pick away when they know the QBs will get to them because the Lions and Giants aren't taking a quarterback.

Scouting Report on Washington Redskins defensive end Chase Young https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2020cyoung.php
4/23/2020 8:33 PM by Charlie Campbell
Young could form a legendary defensive line with Jonathan Allen, Da'Ron Payne, and Montez Sweat. Having an elite line will help cover up for issues in the secondary. In the third round the Redskins could get a really good wide receiver value in this deep class of playmakers.
4/23/2020 8:31 PM by Charlie Campbell

Sorry about that, I think Burrow is a safe pick to be a quality NFL starter for the Bengals. However, I'm not convinced he will be among the elite quarterbacks in the NFL. Cincinnati is going to need to build a good team around him

I give the Patriots the grade of a B+ for Ole Miss cornerback Ken Webster. He had an early-round skill set before some injuries knocked him out for a time. Webster may never return to his pre-injury form, but in the seventh round he's worth the game.

The Redskins get a B for their pick of Jordan Brailford. He was a quality player Oklahoma State and could provide some depth for the Redskins.

The Cardinals get an A- for their pick of Caleb Wilson as Mr Irrelevant. Wilson could have gone many rounds earlier as he is a dangerous receiving tight end. Wilson is not much of a blocker, but he could be a receiving mismatch weapon for Kyler Murray. This was a very good final pick in the draft for Arizona.

4/27/2019 6:20 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Vikings add some receiver depth with Olabisi Johnson but I think he probably ends up on the practice squad. That pick gets a C.

I haven't seen enough of Morgan State guard Joshua Miles to give a good grade on that pick, but he did go on some team visits. Michael Dogbe joins Miles as seventh-round picks by the Cardinals and Dogbe is an appropriate pick in this range. He's a practice squad developmental player. I'd give that pick a C-.

4/27/2019 6:13 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Saints get a C for Idaho linebacker Kaden Elliss. They need depth and competition at the position but he's a special teams selection at this point of the draft.

The Giants get an A- for their pick of Syracuse defensive tackle Chris Slayton. He was superb at the East-West Shrine and showed a ton of versatility. Slayton is a steal in the seventh.

The Colts get a C for Ole Miss center Javon Patterson. He provides competition for the backup job to Ryan Kelly, but Patterson is probably more likely to be on the practice squad.

4/27/2019 6:05 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Colts got a potential swing tackle backup in Utah's Jackson Barton. He might need some time on the practice squad. The Barton pick gets a C.

Jalen Jelks to the Cowboys deserves a B+. He has some talent and entered the 2018 season as a potential early-rounder before he had a down year. Jelks could compete as a pass rusher for Dallas.

Cortez Broughton gets a C for the Chargers. He could be a backup that develops on the practice squad.

The Rams pick of Nick Scott deserves a C. He's a special teams competitor and looks destined for the practice squad given Los Angeles strength at the position.

4/27/2019 5:57 PM by Charlie Campbell

I love the Panthers pick of Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin. He is a fast slot receiver that was underutilized by the Bulldogs. Godwin was awesome at the East-West Shrine as well. I give this pick an A-.

I didn't see enough of Valdosta State cornerback Stephen Denmark to grade that pick by the Bears.

The Vikings get a B for Oregon wide receiver Dillon Mitchell. He has upside and could make their team. Mitchell was a good gamble in the final round of the draft.

4/27/2019 5:52 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Dolphins went back-to-back picks with running backs this time taking Washington's Myles Gaskin. He had a really good college career and could be a backup receiving back. I give this pick a B+.

The Jaguars get a B for their pick of Dontavius Russell. He has more talent than this draft slot indicates but he didn't play up to it at Auburn. He could be a backup and has a shot at making the team.

The Seahawks grabbed Hawaii wide out John Ursua. He could compete to be a backup and Ursua could have gone earlier. I grade that pick as a C+

4/27/2019 5:47 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Saints a B for Notre Dame tight end Alize Mack. He has some talent and New Orleans could use tight end competition.

The Giants get a C for their pick of Kentucky OT George Asafo-adjei. He could be a backup that develops on the practice squad.

Miami's pick of Auburn RB Chandler Cox gets a C-. I'm not sure he makes the team but he could be a practice squad player.

4/27/2019 5:41 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bills pick of BC tight end Tommy Sweeney gets a B. Buffalo needed some tight end depth and he will help them as a blocker.

Detroit gets a C for their pick of Arizona State defensive tackle P.J. Johnson. He could be a practice squad guy and some depth if they have injuries.

I don't know Prairie View A&M edge defender Quinton Bell to give the Raiders a grade for that pick.

4/27/2019 5:24 PM by Charlie Campbell

I don't know Darryl Johnson Jr well enough to give him an appropriate grade. The North Carolina A&T defensive end though is going to a team that has some need at end so this is a nice landing spot for him with the Bills.

The Packers get a C for their pick of Ty Summers. The TCU linebacker will provide some depth at linebacker and special teams ability if he can make the team.

The Redskins pick of James Madison cornerback Jimmy Moreland is a nice selection. He really played well at the Senior Bowl and could have gone a lot earlier. Moreland could make their team and provide corner depth. I give this pick a solid B.

4/27/2019 5:17 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bears already drafted a running back but they add another with Florida Atlantic's Kerrith Whyte. He could make their team as their third running back. I give this pick a C+.

The Bengals get a C+ for their pick of Jordan Brown. They could use some cornerback depth.

The Lions add another tight end in Georgia's Isaac Nauta. He will help them as a blocker and I give this pick a C.

4/27/2019 5:10 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Steelers get a B for their pick of Maryland guard Derwin Gray. Gray is talented and is sleeper that could make be a good value.

The Texans get a C- for Cullen Gillaspia. He was a backup at Texas A&M but the Texans are in need at running back of depth so he could make their team.

The Browns get a B- for their pick of Donnie Lewis. He had some buzz about him at times and he could compete to be their fourth or fifth corner.

4/27/2019 5:06 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bucs pick of Missouri defensive tackle Terry Beckner gets a B. He has some physical talent but motivational issues. Perhaps that will be fixed by sliding in the draft.

The Chiefs pick of Illinois guard Nick Allegretti is a C. He's probably a practice squad guard.

The Vikings pick of Texas cornerback Kris Boyd is a C. Boyd has technical issues and off the field concerns.

The Cowboys pick of Ohio State running back Mike Weber is a B+. He could have gone much earlier and Weber has a good skill set.

4/27/2019 5:01 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Cowboys get a C for taking Texas A&M safety Donovan Wilson. He could compete to be a backup but probably needs time on the practice squad.

The Chiefs get a C for RB Darwin Thompson. The Utah State product went to a good system and he could compete for playing time with Kansas City.

4/27/2019 4:53 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bengals took a flier on Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson. Entering the 2018 season I thought he would be an early-rounder because he was a tough runner that also showed some receiving skills in a big body. He was injured and out for year in the opening weeks of the season. If Anderson gets back to his old form this would be a steal, but it is hard to see him staying healthy after repeated injuries in college. I give this pick a C.

The Panthers got a good player in South Carolina OT Dennis Daley. He is a talented edge blocker with a good skill set of size, length, quickness, and athleticism. Daley really frustrated scouts because he looked like he could be a stud at times and was a dud at others. If Carolina can get him to be consistent, he could be a steal. Daley could have gone in the third or fourth round so I give this pick the grade of a B+.

4/27/2019 4:50 PM by Charlie Campbell

I think Demarcus Christmas is a good depth defensive tackle for the Seahawks and is a nice value in the sixth round. He is a nice player that is quick and athletic but a little undersized. I give his pick a B-.

The Bengals pick of Deshaun Davis gets a B- as well. They needed linebacker depth and Davis played well for Auburn at times. He probably will be a backup and special teams contributor.

4/27/2019 4:43 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Steelers pick of Akron linebacker Ulysees Gilbert gets a C. He could be a backup linebacker and special teams contributor.

The Buccaneers pick of Bowling Green WR Scott Miller gets a C+. They lost Adam Humphries and DeSean Jackson so they could use more receiving depth.

4/27/2019 4:39 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Bears a C- for their pick of Kansas State Duke Shelley. But Chicago needed some defensive back depth so Shelley could compete to make the roster.

I grade the Redskins pick of N.C. State WR Kelvin Harmon gets an A-. Harmon is a physical receiver that is dangerous after the catch. He is a strong possessional receiver that is a good fit in Jay Gruden's offense. He could be nice competition for Washington and make the team.

4/27/2019 4:33 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Falcons grab some receiver depth for Louisiana-Monroe WR Marcus Green. I give that pick a C.

The Seahawks got a nice sleeper running back in Travis Homer. He could be a good backup rotational back. I give that pick a B-.

4/27/2019 4:29 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Chargers get a C- for their pick of Houston LB Emeke Egbule. He could be a backup and special teams contributor, but I think he might not make their roster and end up on the practice squad.

The Chiefs pick of South Carolina CB Rashad Fenton is a nice one and I give it a B-. He flashed some at South Carolina. I think he might be able to stick as a fourth or fifth corner.

The Dolphins get a B- for Ohio State RT Isaiah Prince. He could compete as a replacement for Ja'wuan James. Prince has limitations though and that's why he slid in the draft.

4/27/2019 4:24 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Ravens get a D for their pick of Trace McSorley. He is a try hard guy but most teams graded him in the undrafted ranks.

The 49ers get a C for cornerback Tim Harris. The Virginia product could compete as a fourth or fifth corner and special teams contributor.

The Colts get a C for Gerri Green. He could provide some edge rushing depth and has upside, but probably needs time on the practice squad.

4/27/2019 4:20 PM by Charlie Campbell

I really like the Vikings pick of Elon OT Oli Udoh in the sixth round. He looked really good at the East-West Shrine. He is a massive blocker and more athletic than one would think. I think he should move inside and be a power right guard. I give Minnesota a B+ for this pick.

The Packers pick of Notre Dame RB Dexter Williams gets a B. I think he could make their roster as a third running back and special teams contributor. Williams ran well last year for the Irish.

The Texans get a grade of a C- for Central Michigan cornerback Xavier Crawford. They have drafted a number of defensive backs and there won't be spots for them and all of the players they signed, but the Houston secondary was so bad that they really need to ramp up the competition.

4/27/2019 4:16 PM by Charlie Campbell

My grade for the Vikings pick of Marcus Epps is a C. He worked out well leading up the draft and could be a special teams player that maybe develops under the coaching of Mike Zimmer.

I grade the Steelers pick of Alabama DT Isaiah Buggs as a B+. Buggs was a productive pass rusher for the Crimson Tide last year and he is talented, but he is a bad worker and that is why he slid in the draft. If he gets motivated, he could be a steal for Pittsburgh.

4/27/2019 4:02 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Browns added to their offensive line depth with the pick of Southeast Missouri guard Drew Forbes. I don't know much about him but did hear some buzz about him with scouts late in the process and believe that Forbes did well in workouts. Cleveland gets a C for this pick.

The Vikings get Arkansas defensive tackle Armon Watts and he could be a rotational backup. I give his pick a C+.

4/27/2019 3:57 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Broncos get a C for Colorado wide receiver Juwann Winfree. He could be a fourth or fifth receiver for Denver.

The Titans get a C for their pick of West Virginia linebacker David Long. He should be a backup linebacker and special teams contributor.

4/27/2019 3:54 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Packers get a C for their pick of Toledo cornerback Ka'Dar Hollman. He could compete on special teams and serve as a backup corner.

The Lions get a D for their pick of Maryland running back Ty Johnson. He could serve as a rotational backup to Kerryon Johnson, but I think Ty Johnson will have a tough time making the team because Theo Riddick and CJ Anderson are the projected backups.
4/27/2019 3:46 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bengals get a C for their pick of Trayveon Williams. He could be a backup receiving back but has limitations for the NFL. I had him as a late-round pick but then heard the media hype of him going day two and also heard that the Steelers liked Williams. As a pro he could be a functional backup for Joe Mixon.

Vanderbilt OT Justin Skule should serve as a swing tackle backup for the 49ers, or they could kick him inside to guard. I give this pick a C-.

4/27/2019 3:42 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Cardinals get a C for their pick of Lamont Galliard. He is a backup quality center and had a nice week at the East-West Shrine. He has a shot at making the roster.

The Giants pick of Corey Ballantine gets a B. New York has really added some good talent to the cornerback position now with DeAndre Baker, Julian Love, and Ballantine. That is a talented young trio that could end up being some steals for where the Giants drafted them.

I like the Bills pick of Jaquan Johnson. He was a playmaker at safety for Miami. Johnson has instincts and is a pure football player. If he tested better he could have gone on day two. I give the Bills a solid B for that pick.

4/27/2019 3:33 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Saints grabbed a backup safety in Rutgers' Saquon Hampton. He was a tough player in college and I think this was a nice pick for New Orleans. I think Hampton will be a good special teams contributor. I give it a B.

The Jaguars pick of Garnder Minshew is interesting. He had a huge season last year for Washington State, but I'm not sure his physical skills are going to translate to him being an effective backup in the NFL. Minshew was more udnrafted free agent caliber. I give this pick a D grade.
4/27/2019 3:28 PM by Charlie Campbell

To lead off the sixth round the Cardinals added another receiver Keesean Johnson. He broke Davante Adams records at Fresno State and he has some natural receiver instincts. I give that pick a B as he could have gone earlier.

The Steelers pick of Sutton Smith earns a C. The edge rusher from Northern Illinois is limited to being just a backup.

I give the 49ers pick of Stanford tight end Kaden Smith a B+. He played really well and was good value pick. A slow 40 hurt him, but Smith is a good player and I think San Francisco got a nice value with Smith.

4/27/2019 3:24 PM by Charlie Campbell

Jordan Miller was a good late fifth-round pick for the Falcons. He offers cornerback depth and was coached up well by Jimmy Lake at Washington, a good friend of Falcons coach Raheem Morris. I give the Falcons a B- for this pick.

Washington gets a B- for their pick of North Carolina LB Cole Holcomb at the end of the fifth round. He should be backup and special teams contributor.

4/27/2019 3:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Browns took Oklahoma kicker Austin Seibert and I'm not a fan of drafting kickers or punters. But Cleveland has loaded up their roster with draft picks and free agents in recent years and they don't have a lot of needs so it makes sense to take a kicker if they really loved the guy. Still I don't like drafting those guys so I give this pick the grade of a D+

Darius Slayton could be a backup rotational receiver for the Giants. At Auburn, Slayton flashed but did they had inconsistent play in their passing game so Slayton was unable to get into a real groove in college. I give this pick the grade of a C.
4/27/2019 3:13 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Titans get an A- for their pick of Georgia linebacker D'Andre Walker. He easily could have gone on day two. Walker is a good edge rusher that is physical. He could rotate with Cameron Wake and Harold Landry to give them three edge rushers to keep fresh. In time, Landry and Walker could be their starters. This was a nice pick for Tennessee.

The Rams get a D+ for their pick of David Edwards. Some draft analysts pushed Edwards as an early-rounder during 2018 but he really struggled in his last season at Wisconsin and looks very limited for the NFL in terms of being able to block speed rushers. I think that Edwards will struggle to stick in the NFL.

4/27/2019 3:05 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Chargers a D for the pick of Easton Stick. At the East-West Shrine Stick did not look like a pro quarterback as he really struggled.

I give the Eagles an A grade for their pick of Northwestern QB Clayton Thorson. I think he could be an excellent backup to Carson Wentz as he has an early-round skill set. He carried Northwestern to the Big 10 championship game and Thorson could be a steal. Check out his scouting report:

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019cthorson.php

4/27/2019 3:00 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Cowboys pick of Miami defensive end Joe Jackson. He showed some serious pass rush skills in 2017 and looked like he could end up being a future first-rounder. He disappointed in 2018 and seemed to be protecting himself. He turned it on at times, but was far too inconsistent. Still if Jackson applies himself he has talent so this could be a steal for Dallas. I give them a B+ for this pick.

4/27/2019 2:59 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Patriots pick of punter Stanford punter Jack Bailey is a D. I don't like drafting kickers or punters as they can be signed on the cheap. New England though has a strong roster so a lot of late-round picks for the Patriots will end up getting cut so in that regard it makes sense to take a specialist rather than wasting a pick.

I haven't watched or studied Tarleton State wide receiver T.J. Speed, so I can't give an accurate grade on this pick by the Colts.

4/27/2019 2:54 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Texans haven't picked yet today because they traded their fourth-round pick to the Broncos last season for Demaryius Thomas, which was a bad trade as Thomas did next to nothing for Houston. In the fifth round the Texans took Texas DE Charles Omenihu and that is worthy of a C. He could be a rotational five technique defensive end but Omenihu has limitations.

The Vikings pick of Cameron Smith is a solid choice. He is a good run defender that has issues in pass coverage. He could be a good rotational linebacker for run defense but mainly his contributions will probably be on special teams. I give the Vikings a B- for this pick.

4/27/2019 2:48 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Cowboys get a C- for their grade of Miami CB Michael Jackson. Jackson could struggle to translate to the NFL as he could struggle to run with NFL receivers.

The Patriots get a C+ for taking Maryland DE Byron Cowart. Coward was the No.1 recruit in the nation coming out of high school in Seffner, FL, but he was a disappointment at Auburn. He showed huge improvement last year at Maryland so perhaps he is a late bloomer and this is a steal for New England.

4/27/2019 2:43 PM by Charlie Campbell

Justin Hollins was a nice pick for Denver as he was a dangerous edge rusher for Oregon last year and showed a knack for making big plays. He can compete at linebacker and probably will be a really good special teams player. I give the Broncos a B+ for this pick.

Blake Cashman should be a solid rotational and backup linebacker for New York I give the Jets a grade of B-. Cashman got some media hype this spring, but I didn't hear teams as high on him as the media were. Still he could be a nice backup for New York.

4/27/2019 2:34 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Browns an A for their pick of Mack Wilson. He could have gone in the second round. Wilson is excellent in pass coverage but slipped to day three because of character and make up concerns. Wilson is a hard hitter, but needs to improve his run defense.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019mwilson.php

4/27/2019 2:32 PM by Charlie Campbell

My grade for the Redskins pick of Ross Piersbacher is a C-. I don't think he will translate well to the NFL, but Washington is doing a nice job of building up depth for their offensive line. Last year their line was ravaged by injuries so it makes sense for them to add competition and depth up front.

The grade for the Panthers pick of Florida RB Jordan Scarlett earns a B+. He has a good skill set as he is a power runner with some quickness. Scarlett gives Carolina a nice backup running back to help lighten the load for Christian McCaffrey.

4/27/2019 2:26 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Dolphins get a C for their pick of Wisconsin linebacker Andrew Van Ginkle. He was a tough strong side linebacker that showed some blitzing ability and run defense. He will need to work on pass coverage for the NFL, but Miami took him to be a backup and special teams contributor.

The Falcons get a C+ for Quadree Ollison. He was a tough back for Pitt last year and Atlanta could use more running back depth.

4/27/2019 2:21 PM by Charlie Campbell
I really like the Raiders pick of Clemson wide receiver Hunter Renfrow. He is a slot receiver that is shifty, runs good routes, and has great hands. He could be a really nice fit in Jon Gruden's offense. In the fifth round this is a good value as Renfrow is a pure football player. I grade this pick as a B+.

The Packers pick of Kingsley Keke is a B-. He flashes some ability as a quick and athletic lineman. In the NFL he could be a pass rushing defensive tackle that comes into the game in the sub package.
4/27/2019 2:17 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Bills a B+ for their pick of Vosean Joseph. He is a fast linebacker that is a dangerous blitzed. He could be a fast Will linebacker in the NFL.

The 49ers get a C for taking Arkansas linebacker Dre Greenlaw. I know some other teams that had him late, but at this point he is drafted to be a special teams backup.

4/27/2019 2:13 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Bucs took a kicker in the fifth round, lol. Well they've needed a kicker for years ever since they blew a second-round pick on Roberto Aguayo. Matt Gay was a good college kicker, but I'm not a fan of teams drafting kickers or punters as you can get solid veterans on the cheap any time you want. Tampa Bay has been terrible at selecting their kickers, but maybe Gay breaks the streak. I give this pick the grade of a D.

I give the Lions a grade of an A- for the grade of Amani Oruwariye. This is a really good value pick as Oruwariye has size, and production. He is not the fastest but he makes up for it. I think Detroit could have gotten a steal with this pick as I had Oruwariye going in the third round of my final mock draft.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019aoruwariye.php

4/27/2019 2:03 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Giants get a good backup linebacker and special teams contributor in Ryan Connelly. He was a tough run defender and stayed around the ball for the Badgers. New York gets a B- for this pick.

The Colts get a B- for their pick of Marvel Tell III. Entering the 2018 season Tell looked like an early-rounder but in his final season he struggled with missed tackles and did not produce well in coverage. Thus he is a bit of a boom or bust pick.

4/27/2019 1:59 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Steelers get a C for their pick of Zach Gentry. He is big blocking tight end but won't offer much as a receiver in the NFL.

The Seahawks get a B for their pick of Ben Burr-Kirven. He is a small but instinctive linebacker that was all over the field for Washington. In the NFL his size may not translate to him holding up as a three down starter, but I think he could be a good rotational linebacker and special teams contributor.

4/27/2019 1:54 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Jaguars a C for their pick of Ryquell Armstead. He is a big tough runner that could be a nice backup for Leonard Fournette.
4/27/2019 1:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
Deionte Thompson had a great start to his junior year and looked like a first-rounder with his coverage skills to open the 2018 season. But after a hot start, Thompson was dismal down the stretch with busted coverages, false steps, getting out of spot, and missing tackles. Thompson has talent to develop but he is a boom or bust player. I give this pick the grade of a C for the Arizona Cardinals.
4/27/2019 1:51 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Raiders deserve a B for their pick of LSU tight end Foster Moreau. He is a blocking tight end that will help open holes for Josh Jacobs.

I give the Eagles a B- for their pick of Shareef Miller. He is a rotational pass rusher but may not have the skill set to become a starter. Still he could be a nice role player for Philadelphia.

4/27/2019 1:46 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Falcons a grade of a C for their pick of John Cominsky. He could be a rotational backup but that's probably his ceiling.

I like the Bengals pick of Mike Jordan. He was a good interior lineman for the Buckeyes. Jordan is a big center with guard potential and he could have gone on day two of the draft. Thus I give this pick a B+ for Cincinnati.

4/27/2019 1:43 PM by Charlie Campbell
Oops sorry I looked at the wrong column on my excel sheet. The Rams took Greg Gaines and that is a solid B for them. He's a nose tackle to go next to Aaron Donald and help them stuff runs. Gaines is strong and causes some disruption.
4/27/2019 1:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
Greg Gaines was a good pick for the Browns. He is a strong and disruptive nose tackle for Washington that stuff runs at the point of attack. He is a nice rotational tackle for Cleveland. I give the pick of Gaines a solid B.
4/27/2019 1:39 PM by Charlie Campbell

Ugo Amadi is a C grade at cornerback for the Seahawks. He is a backup corner caliber play.

Jarrett Stidham is a B grade for the Patriots. He has a good skill set, but Stidham did not play up to his potential at Auburn this past season. He has up-and-down tape during his career but he could be a good backup for New England.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019jstidham.php

4/27/2019 1:32 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Redskins a C+ for their pick of Indiana guard Wes Martin. He is a tough run blocker that is big and physical, but I'm not sure he has the quickness and athleticism for pass blocking in the NFL. Still the Redskins needed some backup depth on their offensive line and this pick makes sense as giving them a backup that could help them still run the ball if he's pressed into duty.
4/27/2019 1:29 PM by Charlie Campbell
Drue Tranquill played really well for Notre Dame during his career. He was a tough defender that was consistently around the ball. His skill set might be limited to backup duty in the NFL, but in the fourth round that's the appropriate value and he should be a good contributor on special teams. I give the Chargers a B- for this pick.
4/27/2019 1:25 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Raiders get a B- for their pick of Houston corner Isaiah Johnson. He is a big corner with speed but Johnson has lot of technique issues that need to be coached up. He has a starting skill set but needs developmental time. If Oakland has a really good defensive backs coach then the picks of Johnson and Trayvon Mullen could be giant steals for the Raiders.
4/27/2019 1:22 PM by Charlie Campbell

USC cornerback Iman Marshall has speed issues and did not play up to his skill set. But he has upside for the Ravens and could turn into a contributor. I give it a C.

The Cowboys land a backup running back in Tony Pollard as he is a speed back to play off Ezekiel Elliott. Pollard also is a good returner so he bring special teams value. I give Dallas a C+ for this pick.

4/27/2019 1:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Bears an A+ for their pick of Riley Ridley. He is a second round value they are getting late in the fourth round. Ridley is a superb route runner, very polished, good hands, and quickness. Ridley is a steal in the fourth round and he could be a good rotational receiver quickly for Chicago. Great pick by the Bears.

Scouting Report on Chicago Bears WR Riley Ridley
http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019rridley.php
4/27/2019 1:15 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Bengals a B for their pick of Arizona State DL Renell Wren. He has a good skill set with size and quickness. However Wren did not play up to it in college. He could be a late bloomer that has his best football ahead of him thus I think this is a nice pick for Cincinnati.
4/27/2019 1:12 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Seahawks pick of Phil Haynes is a C. He rose during the pre-draft workouts but his play did earn him a grade that suggests he was an early-round candidate. There are still some talented players available that had productive careers and this was a bit of a reach.
4/27/2019 1:11 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a big fan of the pick of Ben Powers by the Ravens. Powers is just a guy that is not overly strong or physical. I think he is limited to being a backup only. Some teams had him graded as a late-rounder. Thus, I have the Powers pick graded as a D.
4/27/2019 1:08 PM by Charlie Campbell
I really like the Pittsburgh Steelers pick of Benny Snell. He is a tough runner that has excellent vision, power, balance, and instincts. Snell set the Kentucky record for rushing in only three seasons. I think he could be a steal for Pittsburgh. I give them an A- for this pick.
4/27/2019 1:06 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jets land a backup rotational tight end with West Virginia's Travis Wesco. He could be a h-back receiving tight end and also contribute as a fullback. This is a bit high for Wesco so I give it a C.
4/27/2019 1:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
I really like the Seahawks pick of West Virginia wide receiver Gary Jennings. He is a speed receiver that can stretch the field and challenges defenses vertically. With DK Metcalf and Jennings, Seattle has deep threats to go downfield for Russell Wilson. Those are two nice weapons for the Jets. I give Seattle's pick a B+.
4/27/2019 1:02 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Browns a B+ for their pick of Miami defensive back Sheldrick Redwine. Redwine is a tough football player that should be a safety in the NFL. He also could play some corner against big receivers. Landing Redwine in the fourth round is solid value for Cleveland.
4/27/2019 12:58 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Patriots a D for their pick of Hjalte Froholdt. I'm not sure he will make their team so this could be a wasted pick for New England. He needs a lot work on his technique and I'm not sure he can pick things up quick enough. Other teams saw him as a late-rounder and potential free agent. He could use developmental time on the practice squad.
4/27/2019 12:56 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Lions got a solid defensive end in Austin Bryant. He was a good contributor for Clemson as a guy that cleaned up the pressure from Clelin Ferrell and Christian Wilkins. Bryant could be a nice fit for Detroit as a rotational defensive end and that is fine value in the fourth round. I give Detroit a B for this pick.
4/27/2019 12:51 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Titans could use some safety depth and competition so I understand their pick of Amani Hooker. I give it a C though because I know some teams that had him graded as a late-rounder. He has some limitations in speed and athleticism to cover in the NFL. Hooker could be limited to being a strong safety only.
4/27/2019 12:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Carolina Panthers an A- for their pick of Christian Miller. Miller is a fast edge rusher that really played well for Alabama the past few years. He had some injuries, but when healthy he was a tough pass rusher for the Crimson Tide. Miller and Brian Burns could form a good young tandem for the Panthers.
4/27/2019 12:47 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Ravens get a B+ for their pick of Oklahoma State RB Justice Hill. He is an ultra fast back that will give the Ravens a  playmaker to rotate in the game. Hill is not big enough to hold up as a three down starter, but this is a good value spot for a rotational back. Baltimore is really improving their team speed and playmaking ability in this draft.
4/27/2019 12:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Redskins an A grade for their pick of Bryce Love. He was a first-round pick entering his senior year before injuries have knocked him down. But Washington is a perfect landing spot. They can hold him out in 2019 and let him rehab his knee while Adrian Peterson plays. In 2020 Love could form a dynamite tandem with Derrius Guice. This is a steal for the Redskins and could be a huge boom pick. Washington is crushing this draft.
4/27/2019 12:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Falcons a B grade for Kendall Sheffield. He can compete as a nickel corner and this is good value for him. He could form a trio with Isaiah Oliver and Desmond Trufant. At worst he should be a solid backup and special teams contributor.
4/27/2019 12:35 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the 49ers a grade of D- for their pick of Mitch Wishnowsky. They could get a punter later and there are some really good players available for San Francisco instead. Guys like Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson, Georgia wide receiver Riley Ridley, Clemson linebacker Tre Lamar, and more.
4/27/2019 12:34 PM by Charlie Campbell
I grade the Colts pick of Khairi Willis as a B-. He is a solid safety but he is a run defender and has limitations in coverage. I'm not sure he has the speed to be a starter in the NFL, but we are in the backup range of the draft so this is not a reach. Willis could be a backup and special teams contributor to start.
4/27/2019 12:30 PM by Charlie Campbell

The Giants deserve an A for the pick of Julian Love. He was a second round caliber player that is a steal in the fourth round. Love has tremendous ball skills and is a polished corner. He is instinctive and drives on the ball. Love does not have great size or speed, but he is a pure football player. I think Love and DeAndre Baker could form a really good tandem for New York. This is a superb pick by the Giants.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019jlove.php

4/27/2019 12:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Saints have not had a lot of picks, but they landed two guys who can compete quickly for them which is necessary for a team in win now mode. Erik McCoy was a great pick and the more I think about it, I would bump that grade to A+. I think he will be a good plug-and-play starter for the Saints and it wouldn't surprise me if he's one of the top centers in the league before long.
4/27/2019 12:20 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Saints a B+ for their pick of Florida defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. Gardner Johnson has a second-round skill set but was a streaky player at Florida. With the Gators he settled into being a nickel corner, but he also can play some safety. Landing Gardner-Johnson early in the fourth round is good value for the Saints as he is ready to compete right away. He played as a freshman for the Gators and comes in experienced for a player that entered the draft early. This was a nice pick for the Saints.
4/27/2019 12:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
Cincinnati deserves an A- for the grade of picking Ryan Finley. He could have gone in the second round and nobody would have batted an eye. He is a smart accurate passer that plays within himself and does a nice job of distributing the ball. He's not a game changer in terms of his arm and skill set, but Finley could end up being a really good backup and maybe a decent starter. I think this was a really good value for Finley and a smart pick by the Bengals.

Scouting Report on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Ryan Finley

4/27/2019 12:11 PM by Charlie Campbell
Hakeem Buter is a good start to the third day of the draft as he gives the Cardinals a big receiver to provide a size mismatch. With Andy Isabella, Arizona has two young receivers for Kyler Murray to grow with. I know teams had Butler graded in the third round mostly so to start the fourth round the value is fine. I would grade this pick as a B.
4/27/2019 12:00 PM by Charlie Campbell
4/27/2019 12:00 AM by Charlie Campbell

There's still some good talent available for day three of the draft. Some of my favorite players still available include:

Alabama LB Mack Wilson

Northwestern QB Clayton Thorson

Fresno State WR Mike Bell

Stanford RB Bryce Love

Ohio State RB Mike Weber

Notre Dame CB Julian Love

Georgia WR Riley Ridley

Ohio State center/guard Mike Jordan

4/26/2019 11:59 PM by Charlie Campbell
That does it for day two of the draft. Off the top of my head, I think the Colts, Redskins, Panthers, Jaguars, and Seahawks had some good picks to really improve their team.

I'll have a mock of rounds 4 and 5 later tonight.
4/26/2019 11:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
Alexander Mattison was a nice pick for the Vikings. He is versatile with how he can contribute and should be a good backup for Dalvin Cook. I grade this pick as a B.
4/26/2019 11:25 PM by Charlie Campbell
West Virginia tackle Yodny Cajuste had some buzz about him early in the 2018 season but he had some struggles as he is not overly strong or athletic and at times looks like a limited a finesse blocker. I grade the Patriots pick of Cajuste as a C-.
4/26/2019 11:21 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a big fan of the Carolina Panthers pick of Will Grier. They needed a backup quarterback but I think Grier's weak arm limits him significantly for the NFL. He is accurate and throws with timing and precision. I think Grier should have gone well into day three. If I were the Panthers I would have drafted Notre Dame cornerback Julian Love, Stanford running back Bryce Love, Fresno State safety Mike Bell, or Alabama linebacker Christian Miller. I grade the Panthers pick of Grier as a C-.
4/26/2019 11:18 PM by Charlie Campbell
I like the Mike Edwards pick by the Buccaneers. He is an instinctive safety that covers a lot of ground and plays the game the right way. In some time, Edwards could compete to be a starting free safety next to Justin Evans. I give this pick a solid B for Tampa Bay.
4/26/2019 11:17 PM by Charlie Campbell
I did not study and review Murray State linebacker Quincy Williams so I can't comment or grade him appropriately.
4/26/2019 11:14 PM by Charlie Campbell
Oklahoma tackle Bobby Evans is a reach for the Rams at the end of the third round. Some teams had him graded deep into day three. I think he could struggle in the NFL with pro speed rushers and the power of pro linemen. Evans could be a swing tackle backup but I doubt he develops into a starter for Los Angeles. I grade this as a D+.
4/26/2019 11:12 PM by Charlie Campbell
Dawson Knox is a receiving tight end for Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Knox has some quickness and athleticism to help get open for Allen. I give this pick a C+ for Buffalo.
4/26/2019 11:08 PM by Charlie Campbell

I like the Giants pick of Old Dominion edge rusher Oshane Ximines. He has some real pass rush talent off the edge with quickness and athleticism. He could have gone in the second round so this is a good value for New York. I grade this as a B+. Here's a scouting report on Ximines:

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019oximines.php

The Bucs take another cornerback in Auburn's Jamel Dean. They took Sean Bunting in the second round and now Dean. He did not play up to his skill set in college, but Dean is very talented with a ton of upside. Tampa Bay will have to move some defensive backs to safety because over the last three years they've drafted FIVE cornerbacks in the 1-3 rounds: Vernon Hargreaves, Carlton Davis, MJ Stewart, Bunting, and now Dean. I give the Dean pick a C.
4/26/2019 11:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
Baltimore continues to improve their receiving corps with the selection of Miles Boykin. He is a big wide out with some surprising speed. Boykin and Equanimeous St. Brown both had their careers at Notre Dame held back by poor quarterback play. Boykin brings size and Marquise Brown brings speed for Lamar Jackson. I give this pick a B- grade.
4/26/2019 11:02 PM by Charlie Campbell
Chuma Edoga was a late blossoming player at USC and he had a good week at the Senior Bowl. Edoga has a good skill set and if he works hard he could be a steal for the Jets. I give this pick a C+.
4/26/2019 10:58 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Chargers got a nice player in Sioux Falls LT Trey Pipkins. He could compete at right tackle and perhaps develop into a left tackle. Pipkins has length and athleticism. He was one of the best players at the East-West Shrine last January and this was a quality selection for Los Angeles. I grade it as a B.
4/26/2019 10:55 PM by Charlie Campbell
Connor McGovern was a quality pick for the Cowboys in the third round. I think Connor Williams was a bad pick for Dallas a year ago so they could use more competition for Williams. McGovern is a tough run blocker and has some nasty to him so I think he will be a good fit in the Dallas line blocking Ezekiel Elliott. I give this pick a grade of a B.
4/26/2019 10:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
I thought that Bobby Okereke would go on day three of the draft. He is a fast linebacker but didn't really produce up to his skill set in college. He should be a good backup and special teams player. But a linebacker that has less than 100 tackles over two seasons is a bit concerns. I give this pick a C- for the Colts.
4/26/2019 10:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
Linebacker Cody Barton was a tough defender for Utah and he should be good backup for the Seahawks. In time he might become a starter for Seattle. I give this a C grade.
4/26/2019 10:49 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Patriots a grade of B+ for the pick of Damien Harris. He is a do it all back that is a great depth player behind Sony Michel. Harris has three down starting ability and is a very underrated player. He was a good value for New England.
4/26/2019 10:45 PM by Charlie Campbell
The poor draft for the Texans continues with the pick Kahale Warring. He is very raw and needs a lot of development for the NFL. Plus Houston drafted two tight ends last year so I'm don't feel that Warring is good value when they could have had a potential starting running back like Alabama's Damien Harris who just went to the Patriots. I give the Warring pick a D+ for the Texans.
4/26/2019 10:42 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Baltimore Ravens a B for taking Louisiana Tech DE Jaylon Ferguson. He is a productive edge rusher with size and quickness but he is very stiff. Taking Ferguson in the third round is solid value for the Ravens.

4/26/2019 10:39 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Chiefs a grade of B+ on the Saunders pick.
4/26/2019 10:39 PM by Charlie Campbell
Khalen Saunders is a really good pick for the Kansas City Chiefs. Some teams were thinking of him in the second round as Saunders has a lot of power to get a push at the point of attack. He is a powerful sawed off nose tackle with quickness. I think Saunders is going to be a really nice nose tackle to go with Chris Jones on the Chiefs revamped four man defensive line.
4/26/2019 10:34 PM by Charlie Campbell
Justin Layne is a really good value for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the third round. He is a big corner with speed and showed some ball skills. Layne could be a quick competitor for playing time with the Steelers. I give this a B+ grade because Layne easily could have early in the second round. I knew some teams that had him in consideration for their second-round pick.
4/26/2019 10:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Tennessee Titans a solid B- grade for taking Charlotte guard Nate Davis. He is a strong tough run blocker that will have some growing pains in the pass rush in the NFL. Davis has a lot of upside and he fits in well as a run blocker for Derrick Henry.
4/26/2019 10:27 PM by Charlie Campbell
My grade for the Detroit Lions pick of Boston College safety Will Harris is a B-. He is a hard hitting strong safety that will help them in the ground game. Harris improved in his pass coverage and he will help Detroit to replace Glover Quinn.
4/26/2019 10:21 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Browns a solid B grade for the pick of Sione Takitaki. He has a great motor and is a tough run defender. He could be a nice rotational linebacker that develops into a starter. He also should be an asset on special teams while serving as a backup.
4/26/2019 10:18 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Rams pick of Michigan cornerback David Long is okay. He's a nickel corner for the NFL. While he is quick with ball skills and is a gritty player, Long has size limitations and I think he is more being limited to a backup role in the NFL.
4/26/2019 10:16 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Dolphins a B- for their pick of Michael Deiter. He is a tough run blocker that can struggle with speed rushers. Deiter could improve and turn into a solid starter for Miami.
4/26/2019 10:15 PM by Charlie Campbell
I really like the pick of Chase Winovich by the Patriots. He's going to add to their edge rush as he is fast off the edge and has a good motor. He also is a huge personality that will probably be a fan favorite. I give New England a B+ for this pick.
4/26/2019 10:12 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Redskins continue their great draft with the pick of Terry McLaurin. Reuniting him with Dwayne Haskins is great as it will help Haskins to translate to the NFL with a target from college.  McLaurin is a fast receiver that runs good routes and has strong hands. He also is a great leader and teammate. I give this pick an A- for the Redskins.
4/26/2019 10:09 PM by Charlie Campbell
Jace Sternberger is a solid pick for the Packers. He is a dangerous receiving threat as he is quick and athletic. However he is a weak blocker and also has issues of being a hard partier. It will be hard for him to party in Green Bay like he did in college, so that could help him to be a better pro than if he landed with another team. I give the Packers a B- for this pick.
4/26/2019 10:06 PM by Charlie Campbell
Devin Singletary is a tough runner and I give Buffalo a solid B. Singletary is a short and shifty running back that has a thick build. Singletary had a ton of carries in college, but with all the talent in the Bills backfield Singletary should not get overused. Singletary probably won't play much as a rookie given they have veterans LeSean McCoy, Frank Gore, and T.J. Yeldon.
4/26/2019 10:04 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bears trade up for David Montgomery and he is a nice scheme fit for Chicago. He is a tough runner and has some receiving skills. I'm not convinced that Montgomery will transition into being a difference maker in the NFL because he has speed issues and I think he could have problems hitting the hole before it closes in the NFL. I had Montgomery in the third round so this is the right range. I give it a grade of C+.
4/26/2019 10:01 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Bengals needed some linebacker competition and talent so Germaine Pratt makes sense. He is a fast linebacker that is physical and has some coverage skills. I give this pick a solid B as this is the right range for Pratt and I think he could develop into a starter for Cincinnati.
4/26/2019 9:57 PM by Charlie Campbell

I really like the pick of Dre'Mont Jones by John Elway and the Broncos. Jones is a fast interior rusher and that closes on the quarterback in a hurry. He has a quick first step and causes a lot of problems at the point of attack. I think Jones will be a dangerous interior rusher between Bradley Chubb and Von Miller. I give this pick an A- for Denver as Jones easily could have gone a round sooner.

Scouting Report on Denver Broncos DT Dre'Mont Jones

4/26/2019 9:54 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Rams a B- for drafting Darrell Henderson. He is a short back with speed but he is a thick back that is more powerful than one would think. Henderson should be a good backup and rotational back for the Rams.
4/26/2019 9:52 PM by Charlie Campbell

USA!! USA!! USA!!

Semper Fi Marines!! (I was in OCS with the USMC in 2008)

God bless the men and women of our military and all of their families and friends!!!

4/26/2019 9:50 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Jaguars pick of Josh Oliver is interesting. One would not expect Jacksonville to take Oliver because he struggles as a blocker, but the Jaguars need more receiving mismatches for Nick Foles and Oliver provides that with quickness and athleticism down the seam. I give this pick the grade of a B- for the Jaguars.
4/26/2019 9:47 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the 49ers a D- for their pick of Jalen Hurd. He received media hype, but Hurd has issues for the NFL as he is very slow and will struggle too separate. I think he won't pan out as a pro receiver and San Francisco just blew a pick.

The Jets rolled the dice on Jachai Polite and this is the ultimate boom or bust pick. Polite has top-16 potential as he is a dynamic edge rusher that is a dangerous quarterback hunter with a dynamite first step and a knack for the strip sack. But Polite slipped to the third round because major off the field concerns and I'm not confident that will get fixed in a city like New York and in an organization like the Jets. Thus, I give this pick of Polite a grade of C.
4/26/2019 9:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Steelers a solid B- for their pick of Diontae Johnson. I'm not sure his speed will translate as well to the NFL, but you have to give Pittsburgh general manager Kevin Colbret the benefit of the doubt because he has done an excellent job of drafting receivers after the first round including Antonio Brown, Mike Wallace, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Of course he's had some disappointments like Markus Wheaton and I think James Washington could end up being a disappointment.
4/26/2019 9:39 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Arizona Cardinals a A- for their pick of BC defensive end Zach Allen. He is a tough defender that is strong and violent at the point of attack. Allen is a superb run defender that is strong to set the edge and is a perfect fit as a 3-4 defensive end. Allen had 100 tackles as a junior and is able to get more pass rush than given credit for. He is one of my favorite day two values in the 2019 draft. This was a really good pick by Arizona.

4/26/2019 9:37 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Seattle Seahawks a B+ for their pick of D.K. Metcalf. He is a size, speed freak that has to improve his hands and route-running. But he is going to an excellent quarterback and has a ton of upside. If Metcalf can improve his technique, he could be a steal for Seattle.

Scouting Report on Seattle Seahawks wide receiver D.K. Metcalf

4/26/2019 9:34 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Chiefs a B+ for Juan Thornhill. He is an instinctive coverage safety that is dangerous in pass coverage. He is fast and a rangy defender on the back end that should be a good complement to Tyrann Mathieu. Thornhill has issues as a tackler, but that could be improved with pro coaching.

Scouting Report on Kansas City Chiefs safety Juan Thornhill

4/26/2019 9:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
The Cardinals traded away Josh Rosen because they had to after taking Kyler Murray. But this entire saga is another mark of failure for Steve Keim. Arizona had the 10th overall pick invested in Rosen from last year's draft, and a second-day pick they traded to Oakland in a move up to get Rosen. To only get a second-round pick in return is bad return on investment.

For the Dolphins, I'm concerned about Rosen in Miami. Rosen is known to be a partier and I'm not sure that is a good place for him to go to focus on football. From a skill set, the Dolphins are getting good value with a QB that has a high first-round arm and passing ability. It all depends on if Rosen focuses on football and grows into a winner rather than just flashing great arm talent from time to time.
4/26/2019 9:26 PM by Charlie Campbell
I grade the Arizona Cardinals pick of UMass wide receiver Andy Isabella as a C. I think there were better receivers available. He is a quick slot receiver in the NFL that could be a good scheme fit, but he has some limitations for the NFL.
4/26/2019 9:19 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Rams a B grade for their pick of Washington safety Taylor Rapp. He is a good tackler and strong safety in the middle of the field, but he has limitations in coverage. His slow 40 time really hurt him, but Rapp has high marks for character and leadership. He should help the Rams in his rookie season.

Scouting Report on Los Angeles Rams safety Taylor Rapp

4/26/2019 9:16 PM by Charlie Campbell

Nasir Adderley is an A- pick to the Los Angeles Chargers. He is a perfect free safety to be the deep centerfielder in the Chargers defenses. He covers a ton of ground in the back end with instincts and cover skills. Adderley runs around and smacks people as well. He is a perfect complement to Derwin James. They could form the top young safety tandem in the NFL.

4/26/2019 9:12 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Colts an A- for taking Ohio State wide receiver Parris Campbell. This is an excellent value as Campbell is a home run hitter with world class speed. Campbell was consistently able to produce big plays for the Buckeyes and he will stretch the field for the Colts. Campbell gives Indianapolis a good complement to TY Hilton and Devin Funchess

4/26/2019 9:06 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Dallas Cowboys a solid B for their pick of UCF nose tackle Trystan Hill. He is a big boy in the middle of the line that can eat up blockers and cause some disruption.
4/26/2019 9:02 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Eagles a B+ for their pick of J.J. Arcega-Whiteside. He is a big wide out and mismatch problem for defensive backs. Team sources said that Arcega-Whiteside is a poor man's Mike Evans. Arcega-Whiteside is a dangerous red zone weapon as he is tremendous on 50-50 passes. Arcega-Whiteside, Alshon Jeffery, and DeSean Jackson are going to give defenses some problems next year and Carson Wentz should be happy.
4/26/2019 8:58 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Kansas City Chiefs a solid B for their pick of Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman. This is a little high for Hardman, but he is very fast and returns kicks. It feels like Hardman is a replacement for Tyreek Hill. Hill could be done as he is in serious legal trouble. Hardman is a great returner and gives Pat Mahomes another deep threat.
4/26/2019 8:53 PM by Charlie Campbell
I grade the Houston Texans pick of Kentucky cornerback Lonnie Johnson as a C-. Johnson is a size speed freak but he never played up to his skill set in Kentucky. In fact in speaking with people in Kentucky, teams threw at Johnson more than teammate Derrick Baity because Johnson was not as steady in coverage. Johnson needs a lot of work for the NFL.

Max Scharping is another C grade for Houston. He has some footwork issues for the NFL but he is versatile enough where he could play tackle or guard. The Texans offensive line stinks so adding Scharping to compete shouldn't hurt. However taking Tytus Howard and Scharping illustrates that the Texans struck out in free agency last year with Senio Kelemete and Zach Fulton. Bill O'Brien also has not developed a single good OL in his five years in Houston. So Texans fans should not be optimistic that O'Brien can develop Schapring or Howard into good pros.
4/26/2019 8:48 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Eagles a B+ for their pick of Penn State running back Miles Sanders. He is a quick running back that is superb at getting yards after contact. He has to improve his ball security in the NFL but that is something he can fix. I had the Eagles taking Sanders in my final 2019 NFL Mock Draft.

4/26/2019 8:42 PM by Charlie Campbell
I'm not a fan of the Bengals pick of Washington tight end Drew Sample and grade it as a C-. He is a limited receiver and is more of a big blocking tight end for the NFL. I think he could contribute some as a wide out, but really is there to block for Joe Mixon. In the second round there were better players available that could have helped Cincinnati. Players like Alabama linebacker Mack Wilson, Clemson linebacker Tre Lamar, and Virginia safety Juan Thornhill.
4/26/2019 8:40 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Tennessee Titans a B+ for their pick of A.J. Brown. He is a thick, physical receiver that has excellent route-running and hands. Brown is tough wide out that is a great fit as a west coast offense receiver to catch the short slants, digs, and crosses and then rip off yards after the catch. Brown is similar to Titans receiver Corey Davis.

My grade for the Minnesota Vikings selection of Irv Smith is a B+. He is a worthy pick in the second round that gives them a receiving mismatch. Smith will remind Kirk Cousins of Jordan Reed back in Washington D.C. Smith is a receiving mismatch that is a natural route-runner, good athlete, and quick with the ability to get yards after the catch. This was a good pick for Minnesota.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019ismith.php

4/26/2019 8:30 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Colts a solid B for the selection of Ben Banogu. He is a dangerous speed rusher that can really get after the quarterback. I thought he would be a third-round pick, so this is a little hasty but he is good depth behind Justin Houston and Jabaal Sheard. Banogu can rotate and keep those veterans fresh for crunch time.
4/26/2019 8:25 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Saints an A- for the selection of Texas A&M center Erik McCoy. He is a superb athlete that is quick and excellent in the open field. He is a good character player that is tough. McCoy is not a people mover, but he is quick to the spot to beat defenders with his quickness and athleticism. McCoy is a plug-and-play starter for New Orleans as a replacement for Max Unger.

4/26/2019 8:23 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Seattle Seahawks an D for the selection of Utah safety Marquise Blair. They could have gotten him much later because many teams had him undrafted because of serious off the field issues. Blair is a talented player that is tough and physical. He fits as a replacement for Kam Chancellor.

I give the Browns a B+ for their pick of Greedy Williams. He was a second-round caliber play because he lacks toughness and is very thin framed for the NFL. Williams was limited to being a press man corner as well. However he is tall, long, fast, and has ball skills. If Cleveland can coach him up this could be a great pick to form a good tandem with Denzel Ward.

4/26/2019 8:13 PM by Charlie Campbell

I would give the Patriots a solid B for their pick of Joejuan Williams. He is a big corner that projects as a press man corner in the NFL. His 40 time hurt him, but he has good instincts and ball skills. He could really blossom with the Patriots coaching.

I give the Packers a solid B for the pick of Elgton Jenkins. This is the right range for him and he is a versatile blocker that is well balanced. He could play guard for them as a rookie and then move to center in time. Green Bay needed to improve their offensive line and Jenkins definitely has plug-and-play potential.

I would grade Detroit Lions selection of Hawaii linebacker Jahlani Tavai as a C. He is versatile defender that can blitz the quarterback and line up as an inside or outside linebacker. However I think his instincts are shaky so I'm not sure how well he translate to the NFL.
4/26/2019 8:02 PM by Charlie Campbell

I would give the Broncos an A grade for their pick of Drew Lock. He is a first-round talent and they landed him in the second round. Lock has a cannon for an arm, is a good athlete, and smart. I think this is a really good value for Denver.

I would grade the Broncos pick of Dalton Risner as a C+. Risner has been overhyped some by the media, but he is a solid blocker that is a tough guy in the ground game but has issues with speed rushers (see Mississippi State vs Montez Sweat). Risner probably moves to guard or center in the NFL and that is a better fit for him as a pro.

I give the Raiders a B- for the selection of Trayvon Mullen. They needed another corner but Mullen has technique issues and some teams had him graded as a mid-rounder. Mullen has a great skill set, but he needs work for staying with NFL receivers.

In my final 2019 Mock Draft I had the Raiders taking Josh Jacobs, Johnathan Abram, and Trayvon Mullen.

Sources at other teams say they had Sean Bunting in their undrafted pool, but I will have to dig as to why they put him there.
4/26/2019 7:44 PM by Charlie Campbell
I would give the Buccaneers selection of Sean Bunting a D. Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht has really mismanaged his cornerback draft picks. After taking Vernon Hargreaves, Carlton Davis, and M.J. Stewart in the first and second round over recent drafts, they really should not need to take a fourth corner in the second round.

Sources at other teams think this was a big reach as well.
4/26/2019 7:39 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Bills an A grade for the pick of Cody Ford. They landed a first-round talent in the second round and really helped their young franchise quarterback. Ford is a really good athlete with great feet and good size. He should start at right tackle or guard, and has the feet to play left tackle.

4/26/2019 7:35 PM by Charlie Campbell

I love the Panthers trade up for Greg Little. They needed a left tackle and were able to land one with a first-round skill set. Little has size, quickness, athleticism, and tons of upside. He is quick to handle speed rushers and is big enough to hold up against power rushers. Little could be the long-term starter at left tackle for Carolina. The Panthers also have a really good offensive line coach who could get the most out of Little

The Jaguars traded up for Taylor and this was an excellent pick. They needed offensive line help and they landed a top-16 talent in the second round. I give Jacksonville an A for this pick. Taylor comes from nearby Gainesville and is used to playing in the Florida heat. Taylor will help open holes in the ground game for Leonard Fournette and improve the pass protection for Nick Foles. This was a great pick by Jacksonville.

I had the Colts taking Ya-Sin with their first-round pick in my final 2019 NFL Mock Draft. I knew Indianapolis loved him and he is a great scheme fit. He is a strong corner that plays the ball well. He is a fluid, smooth athlete that is built like a truck and is very physical. Ya-Sin's toughness fits right in with the Colts revamped defense.

I would give the Cardinals an A grade on Murphy. They need corner help badly and Murphy is worthy of being a top-20 corner. He can play outside, inside, is tough, has ball skills, and runs the route to prevent separation. This was a very good pick by Arizona.

Interesting info from sources. They tell me: - The Steelers tried a trade up to 3 with the Jets for Devin White - The Steelers lowballed the Jets on the offer - The Panthers almost traded back into round 1 - Seattle turned down a trade to take LJ Collier http://walterfootball.com/nflhotpress/article/2019-NFL-Draft-Rumors---Day-2

So my final 2019 NFL Mock Draft ended up having 11 picks correct in the first round with Tytus Howard being mocked to the Texans in round 2.

I give the Patriots a C for the pick of K'Neal Harry. There were better receivers available in my opinion, but aside from that he is more of a second-round talent given his speed limitations. I think Harry is going to struggle to separate in the NFL. He is very similar to Josh Doctson, who has been a disappointment for the Redskins. Here's a scouting report on Harry.

The Falcons trading up for Kaleb McGary is a suspect pick. There were better offensive tackles available in Jawaan Taylor and Cody Ford. McGary could have problems with speed rushers and I would worry about him blocking Cam Jordan, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Mario Addison next year in divisional play. Overall I would give the Atlanta pick a C-.

I give the Giants an A- for picking DeAndre Baker. He is a very good cover corner that really challenges receivers. Baker gives them a potential No.1 corner and getting the fifth-year option on his contract could be huge savings for New York.

The Seattle Seahawks took TCU defensive end L.J. Collier. Some teams had him graded on day three of the draft!!

I give this grade an F. There were better edge rushers available that showed a lot more pass rush talent in college. Collier is strong and a tough run defender but he is not a legit first-rounder.

4/25/2019 11:31 PM by Charlie Campbell
I give the Chargers a solid B for the selection of Jerry Tillery. He is a first-round talent and they needed a young tackle, but Tillery has off the field issues and I would worry about him in the Hollywood party scene. Here's a scouting report on Tillery.

I give the Oakland Raiders an A- for taking Johnathan Abram. He is a hard hitting safety that is good in pass coverage and a dynamic run defender.

I grade the Montez Sweat pick as a B+. He is a great fit in the Redskins defense and gives them a dynamic speed rusher. Sweat is a great fit to go with Jonathan Allen and Da'Ron Payne. Here's a scouting report on Montez Sweat.

I give the Ravens a B+ grade for Marquise Brown. He is a speed demon that gives Lamar Jackson a deep threat and home run hitter.

I give the Raiders an A grade for taking Josh Jacobs. He is the top RB in the draft and is a great value in the 20s as he has a superb skill set. Jacobs was an excellent choice to finish off a strong offseason for the Raiders offense as they upgraded their wide receivers, offensive line, and now running back. I would give the Texans a D- for taking Tytus Howard. They reached for a 2/3rd round talent in Howard in the first round out of being desperate for a left tackle. There were better offensive linemen available like Jawaan Taylor and Cody Ford. Howard has upside so I won't give it an F, but I would bet Howard is a long-term project that could have struggles making the jump from Alabama State.

Houston general manager Brian Gaine got played by not trading up for Andre Dillard. He fell close and the Texans have the ammo to move up. This was Gaine's first time picking in the first round and this could be a regrettable decision by Houston.
4/25/2019 10:52 PM by Charlie Campbell

I give the Packers an A- for trading up for Darnell Savage. He is a do it all safety that is superb in coverage. He is a great cover safety that will form a tandem with Adrian Amos.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019dsavage.php

I give Philadelphia an A for their pick of Dillard. This is a great value. The Eagles were smart to jump the Texans and land Andre Dillard. He is the best pass protector in the draft and is a perfect scheme fit in Philadelphia. That solves a long-term issue for the Eagles with replacing Jason Peters. Scouting Report on Dillard:

I would give the Broncos a solid B for taking Iowa tight end Noah Fant. Fant is a receiving mismatch that reminds me of Jimmy Graham. Fant needs to improve his blocking and cut down on dropped passes but he gives Joe Flacco a receiving mismatch that  could contribute right away.

The Titans made a long-term pick with Jeffery Simmons as he may not play as a rookie because of a torn ACL. If it weren't for the injury he would have been a top-10 pick. Simmons will be a difference maker for Tennessee when he comes back and as a result I give this pick an A-.
4/25/2019 10:20 PM by Charlie Campbell

I would grade the New York Giants pick of Dexter Lawrence as a B. He is a solid player but nose tackle was not a huge need. Still Lawrence will help them to stop Ezekiel Elliott and Lawrence has a ton of upside.

I would grade the Minnesota Vikings pick of Garrett Bradbury as a C-. There were better offensive linemen available like Jawaan Taylor, Andre Dillard, and Cody Ford. Bradbury will be an okay center. But Ford and Taylor can play guard also and Dillard is a true left tackle. I think the Vikings made a mistake taking Bradbury over those blockers.

I would grade the Brian Burns pick as a B. He is a slight reach, but the Panthers needed a young edge rusher and immediately he improves their pass rush.
4/25/2019 10:01 PM by Charlie Campbell

I would grade the Haskins pick as an A. The Redskins played the draft perfectly letting him fall to their pick and not trading up. Washington needed a franchise quarterback and they got their guy.

http://www.walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2019dhaskins.php

4/25/2019 9:59 PM by Charlie Campbell

I would grade the Falcons pick of Chris Lindstrom as a C-. He is a safe pick to be a solid right guard. I think that Jawaan Taylor would have been a better pick because he can play offensive tackle also.

I would grade Rashan Gary to Green Bay as an A-. He's a top-10 talent that has a ton of upside. His best football is ahead of him.

I would grade Christian Wilkins to the Dolphins as an A-. He's worthy of a top 16 pick and is very versatile.

Last thing on the Bush pick, I would grade it as a B.

That grade for Cincinnati picking Jonah Williams would be a C. Jawaan Taylor, Andre Dilliard, and Cody Ford are better players.

The Steelers made a nice pick in Devin Bush although giving up their second-round pick and a third next year is costly as Pittsburgh has a lot of needs. But keep in mind they do have two third-round picks so the Steelers will still come away with two second-day players tomorrow.

I had the Bills taking Oliver in my final mock draft and it made sense as Sean McDermott needed a disruptor at the point of attack. I would grade this as an A for Buffalo. I've got 5 out of 10 correct in my final mock draft, pretty good start.

I would give the Hockenson pick a B. He is an upgrade for Detroit but he is not as good of a tight end prospect as O.J. Howard and Eric Ebron. Yet Hockenson went higher. Hockenson will give them a mismatch weapon in the passing game and a good blocker to help them run the ball and protect Matthew Stafford.

Scouting Report for Detroit Lions tight end T.J. Hockenson

I would grade the Jaguars pick of Allen as an A-. Allen is an superb edge rusher and a high character leader. He also is a good run defender and contributes in pass coverage. I give Jacksonville credit for going best player available, but I think their offensive line could end up being neglected.

Scouting Report on Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Josh Allen

I would grade the Bucs as an A for taking Devin White. Fills a need and is a great player.

As I predicted in my final 2019 NFL Mock Draft, the Giants take Duke QB Daniel Jones. I give the Giants a B+ for the Daniel Jones pick. He has all the tools to be a franchise quarterback and is not forced to play immediately. Here's the scouting report on New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones

In my final mock draft I mentioned that Clelin Ferrell was in play for the Raiders if Quinnen Williams was off the board. I would grade the pick as a C. It was a reach as Ferrell was a mid to late first-round pick. But Oakland needs edge rushing talent badly and Ferrell is a safe player.

I would grade the Jets pick as an A because they landed the best player in the draft with the third-overall pick. Leonard Williams was disappointing last year, and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams could use a building block at the point of attack for his defense.

I would grade the Bosa pick as an A-. He is the second best player in the draft to Quinnen Williams but fills a bigger need for the 49ers. Bosa should form a tough tandem with DeForest Buckner.
