1. Oklahoma image Perrion Winfrey*, 3-4DE/DT, Oklahoma
Height: 6-3. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.
Projected Round (2022): 1-2.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: The junior college product Winfrey came on strong for Oklahoma late in the 2020 season. He has a really good skill set with the ability to get upfield. In 2020, he totaled 16 tackles with .5 sacks and three passes batted. Winfrey has a ton of upside to break out in 2021.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina
  • '19 - Rashan Gary, Michigan
2. Texas A&M image DeMarvin Leal*, 3-4DE/DT, Texas A&M
Height: 6-4. Weight: 290.
Projected 40 Time: 5.2.
Projected Round (2022): 1-2.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Leal flashed for the Aggies in 2020 and 2019, but really looked like things were clicking for him at the end of the 2020 season. As a sophomore, he had 30 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble, one interception and three passes defended. In 2019, he recorded 38 tackles and two sacks. Leal has a good skill set with a ton of upside.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - A.J. Epenesa, Iowa
  • '19 - Christian Wilkins, Clemson
3. USC image Drake Jackson*, 3-4DE/DE, USC
Height: 6-4. Weight: 275.
Projected 40 Time: 4.79.
Projected Round (2022): 1-3.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Jackson played well in 2020, recording 20 tackles, two sacks and an interception. He was more disruptive than the numbers illustrate. Jackson (6-4, 275) had an impressive debut for the Trojans in 2019. He showed some pass-rush potential alongside quality size and speed. With his skill set, Jackson has the upside to improve his production as he gains more experience.

Height: 6-4. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.46.
Projected Round (2022): 2-3.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Mathis played well for Alabama in 2020, recording 31 tackles with 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble and three passes defended. It was his first season of serious playing time, so he could rise in 2021 now that he has experience. Mathis has excellent size with athletic upside.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Marlon Davidson, Auburn
  • '19 - Dexter Lawrence, Clemson
5. Alabama image LaBryan Ray, 3-4DE/DT, Alabama
Height: 6-3. Weight: 279.
Projected 40 Time: 5.3.
Projected Round (2022): 2-3.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: In 2020, Ray was a solid defender for Alabama, but he did not show significant progress as a pass rusher and also dealt with injuries. He was wise to return to Alabama for 2021. Ray has trimmed weight off his frame, and it will be interesting to see if emerges as a serious speed rusher as a result.

Ray recorded nine tackles with a sack and forced fumble during his 2019 season. He went out of the lineup in September because of a foot injury that required surgery. While Quinnen Williams was the star of the Alabama defensive line in 2018, Ray flashed at times for the Crimson Tide and had some nice moments that year. Ray totaled 39 tackles with six for a loss, 2.5 sacks and two passes batted for the season.

View Ranking History

7/10/21: The Gators' defense struggled in 2020, but Carter was one of the bright spots, notching five sacks, 36 tackles and two passes defended. Carter has quality quickness and athleticism to get after the quarterback. If he can get to the quarterback more as a senior while holding up against the run, Carter could really rise.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Raekwon Davis, Alabama
  • '19 - Zach Allen, Boston College
7. Kentucky image Joshua Paschal, 3-4DE/DE, Kentucky
Height: 6-2. Weight: 270.
Projected 40 Time: 4.85.
Projected Round (2022): 3-5.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Paschal was a tough competitor in the ground game in 2020, but he did not produce much in the pass rush. He was wise to go back to school. Paschal needs to improve his pass-rush production as a senior. He could be a tweener defensive tackle/end, and he should probably gain weight to play on the inside as a pro.

aschal does have a thick build with strength for a defensive end. He flashed more pass-rush ability in 2019 and 2017. Paschal lost his 2018 season to fighting malignant melanoma, but after beating cancer, he returned to the field in 2019 to put together a quality year for Kentucky.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Jason Strowbridge, North Carolina
  • '19 - Chris Slayton, Syracuse
8. Old Dominion image Keion White*, 3-4DE, Old Dominion
Height: 6-3. Weight: 278.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Projected Round (2022): 3-5.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: White's 2019 tape put him on the radar of advance scouts because he was a tough run defender for the Monarchs with 62 tackles. In the pass rush, White flashed with 3.5 sacks, and he has upside to develop as his experience grows. That was White's first season on the defensive line as he played tight end in 2018. Old Dominion didn't play football in 2020 because of the pandemic.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Nick Coe, Auburn
  • '19 - L.J. Collier, TCU
9. Illinois State image John Ridgeway, 3-4DE/NT, Illinois State
Height: 6-5. Weight: 320.
Projected 40 Time: 5.01.
Projected Round (2022): 3-5.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Ridgeway made a good impression on the advance scouts, and they have given him a favorable projection entering the season. Ridgeway has excellent size and strength at the point of attack. He could help himself in 2021 by producing more sacks and impresssing at an all-star game.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Leki Fotu, Utah
  • '19 - Terry Beckner Jr., Missouri
10. Tennessee image Matthew Butler, 3-4DE, Tennessee
Height: 6-3. Weight: 290.
Projected 40 Time: 5.1.
Projected Round (2022): 5-7.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Butler was a solid defender for the Volunteers over the past two seasons, contributing in both phases. It would help the senior to show more pass-rush ability in 2021 and to gain some strength for the NFL.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Rashard Lawrence, LSU
  • '19 - Anthony Nelson, Iowa
11. Minnesota image Esezi Otomewo, 3-4DE, Minnesota
Height: 6-5. Weight: 292.
Projected 40 Time: 4.9.
Projected Round (2022): 5-7.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Otomewo made modest contributions in 2020. He has a skill set with upside, including some speed to go with size. Over the past few seasons, Otomewo has done a nice job of gaining weight and filling out his frame. Otomewo flashed as a sophomore to earn a spot on NFL teams' preseason watch list, and he has reappeared on their watch list for the 2022 NFL Draft.

12. Ole Miss image Tariquios Tisdale, 3-4DE/DE, Ole Miss
Height: 6-5. Weight: 286.
Projected 40 Time: 4.75.
Projected Round (2022): 5-7.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Tisdale is a big defensive end who is a tough run defender at the point of attack. He has good strength and length to set the edge, but he needs to improve his pass-rush production dramatically as a senior in order to rise for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Josiah Coatney, Ole Miss
  • '19 - Byron Cowart, Maryland
13. West Virginia image Dante Stills, 3-4DE, West Virginia
Height: 6-4. Weight: 274.
Projected 40 Time: 4.94.
Projected Round (2022): 5-7.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Stills showed pass rush potential in 2019 when he recorded seven sacks for the Mountaineers. In 2020, he improved as a run defender, upping his stops from 23 to 35, but his pass rush was not as good with only two sacks on the season. Stills needs to improve in both phases to rise for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Previous Seasons

  • '20 - Chauncey Rivers, Mississippi State
  • '19 - Renell Wren, Arizona State
14. Missouri image Akial Byers, 3-4DE, Missouri
Height: 6-3. Weight: 298.
Projected 40 Time: 5.05.
Projected Round (2022): 6-FA.
View Ranking History

7/10/21: Byers has a decent skill set with some upside, but he needs to produce more as a run defender and pass rusher as a senior to be more than a late-round pick.
