Hey Walt, I really hope this year's results are not reflected in last night's game especially since you were so strong against the Cowboys.

@Walter: buddy, I had no idea how much you are appreciated on your website..LOL. Anyway, yea, if by some miracle the Fins beat the Texans straight up.... can the apocalypse be far behind?? Got the G-Mem tonight at +3, combined with Pats +1 in a 7 point teaser. As I have posted before, I sure hope your Titan cover does not turn into a Titan straight up victory. Good luck to you sir.....Going forward.

Walter,
Oh i didnt realize Sean Locklear played in the superbowl last year, i guess i need to refresh myself. Austin missing preseason games really hurt him last year, especially when he went off for 4 touchdowns in the first 2 games. But i wouldnt expect you to know that. Ratliff missing this game isnt the point i was trying to make, it was you failing to mention the injuries on the Giants side of the ball with Canty and the cornerbacks. You are clearly biased. Once again, you are an idiot.

Chuckster, what's funny is that in 2003, the Dolphins were the largest favorite of Week 1. They were -14.5 vs. the Texans at home. Everyone picked them in survivor, but they lost, 21-20. It'd be crazy is the Dolphins pulled a major upset over Houston this year.

@B - Where to begin...
Didn't mention the Giants' tackles because they're just as bad when they umm... won the Super Bowl last year. Nicks played in the preseason finale. Austin did not. Hamstrings are tougher to come back from than ankles for WRs. Jay Ratliff via Rotoworld: Cowboys NT Jay Ratliff (ankle) is expected to miss 2-4 weeks. Ratliff is dealing with a high ankle sprain in addition to plantar fasciitis. The undersized nose tackle is a poor bet to be active for the Cowboys' Sept. 5 opener against the Giants. And I'm the one who's biased? Common man.

Hard to imagine that 3 weeks ago Texans were -6.5. They are now at -12 and still plenty of time for that line to get to 14. Kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on them earlier, I did put them in a 10 point teaser and have them at minus a half. Walter is right, on the Texans being first weeks survivor pick. No way, no how, Houston losing this game to the Fins.

@Evzan, Tatupu is out for the season and was cut by the Falcons. And why would Asante be covering Dwayne Bowe? He isn't starting.
You should probably know basic things about your team before making predictions.

Some of the analysis is really good, but the writing is terrible. It seems like the writer must be on some sort of drugs.

I have never seen a more biased pick in my life.
For one, you bring up Ratliff not starting even though he is questionable and has played with a high ankle sprain before, yet fail to mention Giants DT Canty on PUP. You bring up the Dallas O line but say nothing about the Giants lackluster tackles. You bring up Miles austin "maybe" playing when he has practiced in full and is 100%, yet say nothing about Nicks sitting out at practice because his foot hurts. To top it all off, you say nothing about the giants cornerback woes, and bring up Dan connor when he is actually a backup to Bruce Carter. You are an idiot.

@John S. Also a Big Pats fan, but for most games involving the Patriots the last few years, it's the Defense that I'm worried about. Pats offense is going to be just fine. Titans defense has two options in this game: 1. Play it safe and get nickel-ed and dimed down the field the whole game. 2. Blitz Tom Brady be successful 30 to 40 percent of the time, but give up SEVERAL big plays in the game. The Pats Defense, still, is a Huge question mark, if the Titans can eat clock and win the turnover battle, they are still going to lose by 3 points. FYI: I've got the Pats at +1 in a two team 7 point teaser hooked up with the Giants +3. Good luck to all.

Big Pats fan, but I like Tennessee with points. NE offense, particularly o-line, can't be trusted with that spread at this point. Titans are almost always a competitive team and will test New England's ability to stop run. Seem to remember them beating Baltimore handily in home opener last year.
