Sunday Smackdown: Bills at Giants

This is a tough game to handicap, The Bills have a lot of heart, and The Giants don't. I would stay away from this, it could go as a blow out either way, or a game winning field goal either way. I'm going to review the Bills v. Philly tape. I have noted that Fitzpatrick has only been sacked twice, their running game is insane. The Bills D is erratic. They don't get home usually, but did a better job of pressuring Vick, they play a lot of coverage schemes, that's why they get a lot of Picks. If they ever get a consistent pass rush they will be very dangerous. Dave Wandstadt(sp?) has kept a low profile, but is a key member of the coaching staff. I love their younger linebackers, Danny Batten, (Batton?), especially. Ryan Denney will stay on the DL, that's good news for Arthur Moats, he's pretty good. Shawne Merriman is used in just the right situations, he should be having a greater impact.

George Wilson, Jairus Byrd, Bryan Scott, Nick Barnett are all ball hawks.

The Bills Donald Jones, had an injury, but they still have a great bunch of young, big, targets, but Stevie Johnson is the only Speedster, unless they can work CJ Spiller in to the passing game, which would be smart. Roosevelt, Chandler, David Nelson are possession guys. Nelson is actually really nice in the slot, runs nice patterns for a big guy. Freddie Jackson is a top 5 Running back, he can catch the ball, run the ball, so I would like to see CJ get some touches at WR, and with his speed, throw some balls deep to him to keep the Giants honest. Ruvell Martin is so-so. Hasn't gotten a lot a balls thrown to him. Donald Jones missing is too bad. But like the OL injuries, they seem to slot players in very nicely.

Chan Gailey has been the best offensive coordinator as far as play calling. They needed to be more confusing on D, and against Philly they were, 4 picks, plenty of pressure. Most important, they limited the free release of the philly wr's. Philly is going to get their points against most teams and they did.

I think the Bills are the number 7-9 team, the Giants I rank 11 or 12, Giants at home, I see a push.

Haven't been able to figure out the Giants since their home collapse last year at home vs. Dallas. Weirdest team in the NFL. Staying far far away from this one.

I totally disagree that these teams are about equals.

I think Buffalo is 3 points better than the Giants and for that reason i'll take the points.
