I was highly disappointed with today's practices for the North and South teams, as both squads played without pads and there wasn't much going on that I could scout, especially on the South side as they practiced special teams a lot and did a lot of pretty worthless drills.

As always at the start of practice, the punters and punt returners took reps. I walked over to a Canadian Football League coach, and he gave me a report on Michigan punter Zoltan Mesko. He told me Mesko shanks one out of every 10 punts (a relatively high rate), but he has a good leg. He was clocked twice at 4.66 seconds - a very good time. He said Mesko might not be draftable, but I've heard different elsewhere. He will likely go off the board in Rounds 6 or 7, in my opinion.

Utah's Koa Misi continues to look like one of the most athletic linebackers out there. No real surprises with Daryl Washington who has been very consistent all week long.

Every year, the defensive line does a drill in which they run figure eight's around to massive hula hoops. The DL coach had the players pick up a ball at the top of one hoop then drop it on the opposite end of the other. This allows the players to work on staying low to the ground and maintaining balance. It helps me measure flexibility. Michigan's Brandon Graham struggled a little bit, but Arkansas State's Alex Carrington continued to shine. He's a great athlete and he played himself into the second or third round this week.

In this drill, I was surprised by North Carolina's Cam Thomas' athleticism for a man his size (332 pounds), but it doesn't seem to translate to 11v11's. He has a great bull rush and can occupy space. He's now the No. 3 nose tackle on my board.

In 1v1's (WRs/DBs), Rutgers' Devin McCourty needs to do a better job of anticipating the quick slant because he has the athleticism to be a player. He seems to give up the inside leverage and allows receivers to get open.

Cincinnati's Tony Pike had an impressive day today after a rather mediocre week. He seemed to look a little more comfortable, and no matter how bad he looked this week, I know what he is. He'll never be a star, but he is smart, makes good decisions, and throws an accurate ball. He might have hurt himself a little this week because he weighed in at 212 pounds and looked rail thin, then didn't play very well. I think he'll come off the board in the third or fourth rounds.

Anyone who says Ohio's Taylor Price had a good Senior Bowl week doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. He has very, very, very inconsistent hands - or shall we call them bricks? I don't mean to kill the guy, but the Draft-analyst-who-shall-not-be named on ESPN has been hyping him up a lot this week. He's an athlete; not a football player. The receivers coach told Price, "You gotta sell the slant, just like one-on-ones!"

Wake Forest corner Brandon Ghee had a great close on Clemson's Jacoby Ford and broke up the pass, but Ghee was a little inconsistent. I'm moving Kyle Wilson up to my No. 3 corner spot and moving Ghee down to No. 4, but maintaining a similar grade. I loved another play by Ghee later on where he went up high showing off his vertical to break up the play. I think Ghee moved up a lot of boards this week from the scouts who doubted him a little.

Oregon State quarterback Sean Canfield had a solid practice today as well. He looked more accurate, but I still think he is a late-rounder.
