Brandstater is very inconsistent
in his athletic ability. At times he shows he has the ability
to move around in the pocket and be agile. His style is more of
a drop back passer and he does not display much change of direction
ability and his feet sometimes look like they are in cement. Brandstater
lacks a good amount of coordination; he looks very awkward and uncomfortable
in the shotgun and his play action is very lazy and not convincing at
I think Brandstater plays
hard and does give forth good effort. He shows competitiveness
and wants to help his teammates succeed; however I would not rely on
him for a game winning drive. I don't believe his skill set
and athletic ability allow him to be that take over the game kind of
QB. Brandstater is a tough player who is going to give you everything
he has but his consistency is very marginal at best. His mechanics
to his actually production is very inconsistent.
makes poor reads and it doesn't seem that he makes an effective pre-snap
read. By watching Brandstater play it is fairly obvious that his mental
preparation is not all there. I believe with more study in the
film room Brandstater's instincts, reaction, and ability to read the defense
will drastically improve.
Brandstater has outstanding
size for QB in the NFL. He has ideal height and weight.
Brandstater has a strong arm that needs to be re-fined in the NFL. With
good coaching Brandstater can improve his accuracy and mechanics which would
compliment his strong arm immensely.

Brandstater's strengths are his size
and his strong arm. When Brandstater has good mechanics and can step into
his throws he can be very accurate and effective. When given time
Brandstater can be an effective QB. Brandstater's big strong arm gives him the
opportunity to make big plays downfield.
weakness is his inconsistency. At times he displays great mechanics
and he delivers the ball well, but a lot of the times he is erratic
and short arms his throws. He is very bad under pressure and gets
very erratic and rushes his throws.
Brandstater has very good potential to
become a solid backup in the NFL. He has a lot of inconsistencies
in his mechanics and his poise. Brandstater shows the most comfort and
consistency when he is under center and is in a 3 step drop. Under
any type of duress Brandstater has a tendency to panic and rush his throws which
allows for some big mistake opportunities. Brandstater does have a big
strong arm and when given time can make a big play downfield.
Brandstater needs to develop a better ability to read the defense and keep his
poise in the pocket. He needs to become more comfortable out of
the shotgun which I believe will help him with scanning the defense.
Under the right coaching staff Brandstater could develop into a solid backup
in the league with a potential to be a starter later in his career.

@shimmy I agree that Walker is a fantastic athlete, but comparing his numbers to Bosa does not really hold up. Bosa played true 4-3 DE against the corn fed Big 10 O-lines. I think Walker is a 3-4 OLB at the next level. Both have elite talent, just different. Bosa has a bit more power, and Walker has more speed and quickness.
I dont think number 34 will get Garrapulo. I think S.F. will have to trade the nunber 2 pick for Garrapolo, pick 32 and a fourth rounder from N.E. . S.F. absolutely dont need another 3-4 d.e./u.t. type and the value for q.b isnt there at number 2. I think N.E. mives up to 2 and takes Allen.
I've been on a hiatus with draft work lately and was focused on my Draft Prospect Rankings which you could find in the rants on this site. So, I figured doing one more before the Combine where more prospect movement could occur to see where I stand before and after with those prospects. So, without further adieu here we go!
