Below, you can find various tidbits of NFL Draft rumors and information offered by Mike Mayock, Michael Lombardi and the rest of the Path to the Draft crew on the NFL Network. I posted these in my forum, but I thought it would be better to keep all the draft rumors together in this section. I'll be tweeting these during Path to the Draft at @walterfootball.
Charley Casserly's 2nd-round mock draft: 33. NE - Mikel Leshoure. 34. BUF - Kyle Rudolph. 35. CIN - Greg Little. 36. DEN - Rahim Moore. 37. CLE - Titus Young. 38. ARZ - Christian Ponder. 39. TEN - Ryan Mallett. 40. DAL - Allen Bailey. 41. WAS - Brooks Reed. 42. HOU - Ras-I Dowling.
Charley Casserly: I don't know that Andy Dalton is the long-term answer for any team.
Brian Baldinger: I love the Mikel Leshoure pick. The Patriots haven't won the Super Bowl since Corey Dillon was there.
Charley Casserly: How did I break the tie between Ras-I Dowling and the other corners? I threw a dart on the dart board in all honesty.
Charley Casserly: History shows that the Bengals have taken higher-rated players in lower rounds that fall because of risks.
Charley Casserly: The Broncos pick was a tough one. I'm not sure there will be a better right tackle or defensive tackle than Rahim Moore at No. 36. Clearly, safety is a need.
Charley Casserly: I'm not sure if Allen Bailey will be stout enough to play defensive line for the Cowboys. I have a question about Bailey in all honesty.
Steve Wyche: At No. 25, the Seahawks are in a prime position to trade down with a team that needs a quarterback.
Steve Wyche: Of course, the Seahawks could take a quarterback themselves, maybe Ryan Mallett or Christian Ponder. Not Jake Locker - he could be gone, and I'm not sure they want Locker anyway.
Steve Wyche: A player for the Seahawks will look at is Danny Watkins. He could be a perfect fit there.
Steve Wyche: They can go a lot of ways defensively. Brandon Mebane is a free agent, so I'm looking at Marvin Austin.
Brian Baldinger: The Seahawks have a lot of need. You have to evaluate the quarterback position, but I think they've got bigger issues.
Brian Baldinger: If Corey Liuget is there, that's the guy I would want anchoring my defensive front.
Charley Casserly: Let's look at a guy like Gabe Carimi. Seattle needs a guy to play the right side with Sean Locklear a free agent.
Brian Baldinger: There's too much baggage with Ryan Mallett to take him at No. 25. He's not mobile, and to put him behind that offensive line would be questionable.
Jeff Ireland: Ryan Mallett is a nice young kid, and has a bright future (Translation: I'm not drafting him).
Nick Fairley: I'm a very hard worker on the field, especially in practice.
Nick Fairley: I take medication for sleep apnea. It helps me breathe throughout the night. Since I've gotten the machine to help me, I haven't been falling asleep in meetings because I've been properly rested.
Nick Fairley: Offseason maturity helped me improve last season from the 2009 season.
Butch Davis: The best position for Robert Quinn is 4-3 defensive end. I think he's got the athletic ability to stand up, but the best thing he does is come off the edge.
Butch Davis: Robert Quinn is a lot like Michael Strahan.
Brian Baldinger: Stephen Paea is a guy you need to temper your enthusiasm a little bit about. He's a talented kid, but he's a project. He doesn't merit a first-round pick.
Brian Baldinger: When I watch Blaine Gabbert throw the ball out of his hands, it reminds me of Matt Ryan. I'm not saying he's Matt Ryan, but he throws the ball like him.
Willie McGinest: I've had conversations with Tom Brady. He wants to play until he's 40-plus years old.
